Story
Age: 9 mos (DOB 11/10/23) Weight: 25-30 lbs Location: Wilmington, DE Nicknames: Chummo, Chummy, Chumbley-Wumbley, Little Man Good with other dogs?: Yes. Chumlee is a feisty pup and can get a little rough at times. He goes after ears, tails, etc. but does accept correction from our older dog. He has not met many other dogs yet. We are working on taking him places and socializing him. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? yes Activity Preference: other: due to his health concerns we limit walks to being very short. He'll let you know when he's tired. IQ: Average Chumlee's favorite things: Chumlee loves playing with another dog but can be chill on his own as long as his people are there. He loves his raw food and he loves raw marrow bones. His favorite toys are ALL OF THEM, ALL OF THE TOYS PLEASE. He plays tug with the best of them and is stronger than he looks! He needs to be with his people and is a velcro dog through and through. He likes to give kisses and gets very frustrated if you don’t let him kiss you. He will be respectful of redirection though. Chumlee is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, going for car rides, playing Ideal home: another dog, someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard, other: raw food, few/no stairs Training Needs: socialization with dogs, leash training, needs obedience training, other: basic manners, He's a puppy Health issues: Chumlee was born with Spina Bifida but it's a very mild case. He does not need diapers or any special care really. He's been checked out by an Orthopedic surgeon and a Neurologist and got two thumbs up. He is potty trained and can hold his urine but cannot "go" on his own. We assist him by expressing his bladder which is VERY easy to do. He holds still for his "squeeze". Unfortunately, he has no control over his poo but this is why he's on raw food. With a consistent raw diet, it's always well-formed and super easy to clean up. He gets around well but walks on his hocks a bit. He loves to run, jump, and play and has gotten stronger from playing with our larger dog. Because he doesn't walk normally, we do have to keep his toenails trimmed because they don't wear down like other dogs' nails. With two people it's an easy job. One holds him and the other trims his nails. Meet Chumlee Chumlee was born with a birth defect and his breeder couldn’t sell him. They took him to a vet for euthanasia. The vet wouldn't do it and reached out to rescue. There is no cure for Spina Bifida and no surgery to be performed but he is living a happy, normal, and fun-filled life now that he's in rescue. He is not a difficult dog at all. He is potty trained and just needs a "squeeze" (express his bladder) about 4-5 times a day. Then we wipe him with a baby wipe to keep him clean and fresh. He eats raw food twice a day with a little pumpkin in it. He doesn't have control over his poo habits but tends to go when he's asleep (and relaxed). As long as he's on his raw diet, it's always well-formed and easy to clean up. You just pick it up with a bag and that's that. He loves to play with other dogs and loves meeting people. He's also a super guard dog. He will bark to protect you from all the noises but isn't bothered by fireworks, thunderstorms, etc. He's very food-motivated and easy to train. He knows "sit" and "come" and is working on "stay". (Since he always wants to be with his people that's a tough one for him.) His ideal home would be with someone who wants a constant companion and will not crate him for long periods of time. He does not like the crate at all. We think he spent the first few months of his life confined to one. He has free run of the house and can be trusted not to demolish things except his own toys. He LOVES toys and playing with other dogs but does ok on his own too. He loves to lay on the floor and chew on a marrow bone or a lamb shank. Because he's short (part French bulldog), he cannot climb stairs very well. He can handle 3-4 steps but really no more than that. He will need a ramp or will need to be carried if your home has many stairs.  To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application. Our dogs are fostered in our volunteers' homes, not in a central shelter/location. Only approved applicants are put into contact with the foster family to setup a meeting with the foster dog. Story
Hi!  my name is Theodore (Theo to my friends!) and I am looking for a forever home.  I was picked up as a stray by animal control and taken to a small shelter where, after I wasn't claimed, I ended up on something bad called "the list".  Let me tell you, I was in pretty rough shape (super skinny, lots of sores all over my body) and I was really surprised when this nice lady who came to the shelter to get a couple of poodle mixes stopped, took one look at me and said, he can come, too!  Boy, was I happy to get out of there and my whole body just wiggled in excitement.  I appear to be a French bulldog mix with a super cute underbite that foster mom says is adorable.  I am around 18mo old so past puppy foolishness but still with lots of energy for whatever adventures you are up for.  After lots of good food, my foster mom says I'm finally now at a more healthy weight around 25lbs and I'm a pretty stocky boy.  I love getting attention, food and treats, not necessarily in that order.  I have gotten along with some dogs and others not so much as my super outgoing personality puts some dogs off; I haven't paid much attention to those things called cats I've met.  After we got my stomach all settled, I've done well in my crate without any accidents; I'm not a big barker; and I haven't torn up any of my bedding.  I've done pretty good on leash as I've learned it gets me out on adventures and I might pull a little at first in my excitement on being out.  I would do best in a home with no small kids under 10.  I get anxious when they are running around me.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Meet Jenny! Jenny is a 4 year old French Bulldog mix who was pulled as part of “Angel Retreat’s ACCT’s of love” program. Jenny originally came into the other shelter as a stray. We don’t know what her story was before arriving there, but we do know that she is an absolute love bug and thinks that she is a lap dog! She loves other dogs and people, and has wonderful house guest manners. She is absolutely hilarious and will bring endless smiles to her forever family! As with all rescue dogs, they will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with them as they learn to live in a house and around people. They will need time to trust their new family before working on training, such as house training. This should go without saying, but we require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org 💕🐾 If you are interested in learning more or contributing about our “ACCTs Of Love” program please go to the following link: https://www.angelsretreat.org/accts-of-love/ Jenny Quick Facts: -Very social and friendly with other dogs -No cats for Jenny! -She is a 40 pound lap dog!

Story
This beautiful girl came to us when her owner moved to Tennessee and was unable to find a place to live that allowed pets. Both Opal and her owner were heartbroken. Opal is a one and a half year old purebred white and fawn French bulldog. She weighs 22 pounds and she is now spayed, up-to-date on required vaccines, heartworm tested negative and micro chipped. She is a healthy little girl looking for her forever home. She is house trained, and she gets along ok with other dogs, but definitely wants to be the center of attention so she would do well with another laid-back dog or as an only dog. She is great with kids. If you would like to be sweet Opal’s hero, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com and we will send our information and application. PLEASE NOTE THAT A LOT OF OUR RESPONSES GO TO JUNK MAIL SO IF YOU DO NOT SEE A RESPONSE FROM US, PLEASE CHECK YOUR JUNK/SPAM FOLDER.

Story
Bart and Lisa are two MERLE FRENCH BULLDOG and SAMOYED mixes. Both have lived in a loving and caring household since February 2024 and are 10 months old. Both are spayed/neutered and get along with other dog, cats and kids. The adoption is $500 for BOTH ($250 each) and we would really like to give them to a good and caring home together, however if that is not possible, we would be willing to separate them into two different caring homes. Due to a tragic loss in the family we need to rehome these two cute, fun, loving, playful, and cuddly babies to a new home.

These pups are in Lansdale, Pennsylvania too!
