Story
Hey there! I'm Crazy Pete, and if you're looking for a high-energy, affectionate, and downright goofy companion, then I'm your guy! I might have started my journey as a stray, so my past is a bit of a mystery, but what I do know is that I'm ready to fill your life with joy and adventure. I'm a sweet, active pup who thrives on attention and bonding. If you're into long walks, hiking, or running, then let's make some unforgettable memories together! My friends here at the shelter call me a goofball because of my playful personality-expect lots of laughs and tail-wagging antics! While I'm open to sharing my new home with another dog, I need a bit of training to learn how to be a polite and social buddy. I can be a little pushy and rude, but with some patience, I promise to be the loyal and loving friend you've been searching for. I'd prefer to live in a home without little kids for now since I'm still figuring out my size and might accidentally knock them over. I'm a one-of-a-kind pup looking for a forever home where I can truly belong. If you think you're ready for a fun, energetic, and loving dog like me, come meet me and let's see if we're a match made in heaven! Story
Meet Otis, the most adorable French bulldog and Miniature Pinscher mixed pup! Otis is 1 year and 8 months old. He is neutered, vaccinated, and ready for a forever home. His special superpower is his ability to always have his lips stuck on his teefs. Otis was surrendered to us because his humans did not have time for him. We were told that he consistently had accidents in the house and that he was alone most of the day. We could tell that he lacked obedience and did not know boundaries upon intake. His humans did love him, but they did not provide him with a routine or any mental and physical stimulation. He is now doing well with a consistent routine and learning to be a well-behaved pup. His foster mom reports that Otis has not had any accidents in the house since he came. He is a medium sized dog, but he thinks that he is a tiny pup and insists on always getting in your lap. Otis is the epitome of a Velcro dog! He is very affectionate and would love to be with you all the time. Personal boundaries do not exist in his vocab. His favorite thing in the whole world must be chest and belly rubs because he can never get enough of it. Otis will sometimes throw tantrums when he is denied attention but can easily be distracted when you throw a toy for him to chase after. Speaking of toys, Otis LOVES chewing on all the toys. Durable chew toys are a must for this boy. He can be very energetic when playing tug or zooming around the house and yard--and because of this, we think the best environment for Otis is a home without young children. And although he will happily cuddle and snooze on the couch, Otis needs daily walks so that he can exercise his body as well as his brain. Otis is used to doing whatever he wants and will try and push his boundaries to see what he can get away with. However, he is a quick learner with high value food rewards. We are making strides with crate training and leash walking. Otis needs a home with a human that he can trust and depend on. His perfect human will understand that he has been neglected and will continue to help him heal by providing him with lots of love, a consistent routine, and be persistent with his obedience training. Story
Skye is a wonderful dog. We had her since she was 8 weeks old. My husband passed away in 2022, and after his death Skye started snapping at the kids and fighting with our other dog. It hurts to give her away, and I am hoping to find a wonderful family for her. She is a purebred, Blue Fawn, French Bulldog and weighs about 19 pounds. I would not recommend a home with children or other pets.

Story
Egor is about 2-3 years old. He's a one of a kind special boy. He has the sweetest smile and the loudest snores. Must be from his frenchie side. However, that doesn't bother him as Egor is deaf. He enjoys laying around. Zoomies and getting over excited when he sees the water bowl being filled up. He's food motivated and very smart. Egor is crate trained, pee pad trained and loves doggie friends. He takes awhile to warm up but when he's comfortable he will snuggle up next to you. He's 100% good boy and kind of like a cat in the sense he's a indoor only dog. Egor would make a great addition to any home and would love a doggie sibling.

Story
Age: 9 mos (DOB 11/10/23) Weight: 25-30 lbs Location: Wilmington, DE Nicknames: Chummo, Chummy, Chumbley-Wumbley, Little Man Good with other dogs?: Yes. Chumlee is a feisty pup and can get a little rough at times. He goes after ears, tails, etc. but does accept correction from our older dog. He has not met many other dogs yet. We are working on taking him places and socializing him. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? yes Activity Preference: other: due to his health concerns we limit walks to being very short. He'll let you know when he's tired. IQ: Average Chumlee's favorite things: Chumlee loves playing with another dog but can be chill on his own as long as his people are there. He loves his raw food and he loves raw marrow bones. His favorite toys are ALL OF THEM, ALL OF THE TOYS PLEASE. He plays tug with the best of them and is stronger than he looks! He needs to be with his people and is a velcro dog through and through. He likes to give kisses and gets very frustrated if you don’t let him kiss you. He will be respectful of redirection though. Chumlee is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, going for car rides, playing Ideal home: another dog, someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard, other: raw food, few/no stairs Training Needs: socialization with dogs, leash training, needs obedience training, other: basic manners, He's a puppy Health issues: Chumlee was born with Spina Bifida but it's a very mild case. He does not need diapers or any special care really. He's been checked out by an Orthopedic surgeon and a Neurologist and got two thumbs up. He is potty trained and can hold his urine but cannot "go" on his own. We assist him by expressing his bladder which is VERY easy to do. He holds still for his "squeeze". Unfortunately, he has no control over his poo but this is why he's on raw food. With a consistent raw diet, it's always well-formed and super easy to clean up. He gets around well but walks on his hocks a bit. He loves to run, jump, and play and has gotten stronger from playing with our larger dog. Because he doesn't walk normally, we do have to keep his toenails trimmed because they don't wear down like other dogs' nails. With two people it's an easy job. One holds him and the other trims his nails. Meet Chumlee Chumlee was born with a birth defect and his breeder couldn’t sell him. They took him to a vet for euthanasia. The vet wouldn't do it and reached out to rescue. There is no cure for Spina Bifida and no surgery to be performed but he is living a happy, normal, and fun-filled life now that he's in rescue. He is not a difficult dog at all. He is potty trained and just needs a "squeeze" (express his bladder) about 4-5 times a day. Then we wipe him with a baby wipe to keep him clean and fresh. He eats raw food twice a day with a little pumpkin in it. He doesn't have control over his poo habits but tends to go when he's asleep (and relaxed). As long as he's on his raw diet, it's always well-formed and easy to clean up. You just pick it up with a bag and that's that. He loves to play with other dogs and loves meeting people. He's also a super guard dog. He will bark to protect you from all the noises but isn't bothered by fireworks, thunderstorms, etc. He's very food-motivated and easy to train. He knows "sit" and "come" and is working on "stay". (Since he always wants to be with his people that's a tough one for him.) His ideal home would be with someone who wants a constant companion and will not crate him for long periods of time. He does not like the crate at all. We think he spent the first few months of his life confined to one. He has free run of the house and can be trusted not to demolish things except his own toys. He LOVES toys and playing with other dogs but does ok on his own too. He loves to lay on the floor and chew on a marrow bone or a lamb shank. Because he's short (part French bulldog), he cannot climb stairs very well. He can handle 3-4 steps but really no more than that. He will need a ramp or will need to be carried if your home has many stairs.  To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application. Our dogs are fostered in our volunteers' homes, not in a central shelter/location. Only approved applicants are put into contact with the foster family to setup a meeting with the foster dog.
