Story
Elliott (born 12.16.17) is a 7-year-old French Bulldog. At just 22.5 pounds, this little guy has a good mix of chill and what we can only describe as puppy energy.
He was surrendered along with his Frenchie fur-friend, Oliver (also available through Badass if you are considering 2), so we know he can live with dogs. Cats, though, are another story. He acts like he’s never seen one, and is very anxious to investigate. Because of his curious and pushy nature to sniff/chase the cat, Elliott has been swatted in the face and hissed at, but it does not stop him. We’ve had to intervene to stop the dog/cat interaction, and while it has gotten better, Elliot may be better in a non-cat home.
Despite the cat, Elliott is getting more and more comfortable here each day. At first, he had a lot of nervous energy, understandable because he is an owner surrender due to his owner having health issues. So, our new environment is a big, sudden change for him.
The great news about Elliott is that he’s healthy! He’s not needed any major medical intervention, which is a plus because he gets a bit nervous going to the vet’s office. He’s not fond of his nails being cut or being groomed, but hey, who’s perfect?
At night, Elliott’s routine with us has evolved. At first, he slept in a crate. While he didn’t embrace going in, he eventually did a nice job of settling down and sleeping throughout the night. As of late, he’s slept in bed with our daughter, which is more what he’s used to.
Elliott loves people. He gets a bit anxious when you leave the room (we have parts of the house gated). He’s good with men, women, and children alike. When you come home, you’re sure to get the butt squiggle and tail-nub wag. He’s really good about hanging out with our my 9-year-old daughter as well as her friends. As of this writing, I’m working in the kitchen, and he’s hanging out in a dog bed, just chilling out. He enjoys being around his people!
He also enjoys balls…yes, balls are definitely up there on his list of priorities. He does growl a bit when playing, but it seems to be all in good fun…like if you’re trying to grab the ball from his mouth, etc. Note: He seems to be a little possessive of toys/food around other animals.
Overall, Elliott is a super sweet little man – and – he has a signature look. My daughter noticed that one side of his face has white whiskers, while the other side has black. We think his signature look makes him even cuter!
Elliott is currently eating Hills Science Diet brand dog food, and gets a routine monthly for flea/heartworm prevention pill. If you think this little guy would make the perfect addition to your family, fill out his application today! Elliott is located in Columbus, Ohio. Potential adopters are required to travel here for an in person meet and greet with all family members in the home, including dogs.
