Story
Everyone has that uncle who drinks a little bit too much at the holiday parties and makes inappropriate comments to his girlfriend in front of Grandma before starting a fight with the neighbor, right?? No? Well, get yourself one. Never let your parties be dull again. Adopt Yoda; he’s Da Man! But make sure any parties you take him to are kid free because he is rated M for mature. It’s probably best you keep him away from the neighbors too… He’s more of a ladies man anyway. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   March 8, 2025, 11:01 pm

Story
Location: Dayton, OH Food: Wellness Core Ocean Medication: Monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Kiki here…I am looking for my new furever home. I am a friendly little girl who loves people of all ages. I do get along with other dogs, but I need time to decompress and feel comfortable and a slow introduction would be best. I can be a little bossy, so I need some strict boundaries until I am fully settled in. I’m just used to being spoiled, but I’m not opposed to sharing as long as whoever adopts me enforces those boundaries. I would probably do best with another dog that doesn’t care that I am in charge. I am not, however, willing to share my space with any cats or other small animals. My traits: super snuggle bug, cheese-lover, fully potty trained, did I mention lover of cheese? I am crate trained, although it’s not my favorite place. Will collapse and flop over if I think it will elicit pets. Will eat cheese of all types. I do well on car rides. Oh, and I love cheese!

Story
Location: Dayton, OH Food: N&D Iceab Ancestral Grain, Cod, Splelt, Oats and Orange Adult Dog Food Medication: Monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Hey there! My name is Razor, and I am a 3 year old Frenchie! I am still getting used to living in a home after spending my entire life inside of a pen so patience is required to teach me the ways of being a spoiled boy! My potty training skills are improving daily, and with consistency I will get it down quickly! When I got to my foster mom's house my breathing was very rough, I was able to get my Badass makeover the very next morning and boy oh boy is my breathing so much better even though I'm still in the very early stages of recovery! My foster mom wants my furever family to know that I love squeaky toys, that I really love the ladies (which will die down a bit as my hormones slowly get out of my system), and that I love people! I've been very good with my foster siblings, I try to be bossy if I have a toy but listen very good when my foster mom says "leave it". I love cozy beds, and car rides and although I was new to getting baths I did really good for my foster mom when I got my first one. What type of home would be a great home for me? I want a family where I can gets lots of attention, maybe a furry sibling or two but I'm also okay being the only one to bask in the sunshine of your attention! Oh and yes, my tongue sticks out all the time! I'm a blank slate and am willing to learn all the new things! I love to entertain!

Story
Elliott (born 12.16.17) is a 7-year-old French Bulldog. At just 22.5 pounds, this little guy has a good mix of chill and what we can only describe as puppy energy. He was surrendered along with his Frenchie fur-friend, Oliver (also available through Badass if you are considering 2), so we know he can live with dogs. Cats, though, are another story. He acts like he’s never seen one, and is very anxious to investigate. Because of his curious and pushy nature to sniff/chase the cat, Elliott has been swatted in the face and hissed at, but it does not stop him. We’ve had to intervene to stop the dog/cat interaction, and while it has gotten better, Elliot may be better in a non-cat home. Despite the cat, Elliott is getting more and more comfortable here each day. At first, he had a lot of nervous energy, understandable because he is an owner surrender due to his owner having health issues. So, our new environment is a big, sudden change for him. The great news about Elliott is that he’s healthy! He’s not needed any major medical intervention, which is a plus because he gets a bit nervous going to the vet’s office. He’s not fond of his nails being cut or being groomed, but hey, who’s perfect? At night, Elliott’s routine with us has evolved. At first, he slept in a crate. While he didn’t embrace going in, he eventually did a nice job of settling down and sleeping throughout the night. As of late, he’s slept in bed with our daughter, which is more what he’s used to. Elliott loves people. He gets a bit anxious when you leave the room (we have parts of the house gated). He’s good with men, women, and children alike. When you come home, you’re sure to get the butt squiggle and tail-nub wag. He’s really good about hanging out with our my 9-year-old daughter as well as her friends. As of this writing, I’m working in the kitchen, and he’s hanging out in a dog bed, just chilling out. He enjoys being around his people! He also enjoys balls…yes, balls are definitely up there on his list of priorities. He does growl a bit when playing, but it seems to be all in good fun…like if you’re trying to grab the ball from his mouth, etc. Note: He seems to be a little possessive of toys/food around other animals. Overall, Elliott is a super sweet little man – and – he has a signature look. My daughter noticed that one side of his face has white whiskers, while the other side has black. We think his signature look makes him even cuter! Elliott is currently eating Hills Science Diet brand dog food, and gets a routine monthly for flea/heartworm prevention pill. If you think this little guy would make the perfect addition to your family, fill out his application today! Elliott is located in Columbus, Ohio. Potential adopters are required to travel here for an in person meet and greet with all family members in the home, including dogs.

Story
Location: Dayton, OH Food: Wholesomes sensitive skin and stomach with salmon protein Medication: monthly flea tick and heartworm prevention Who doesn’t love a soft fluffy puppy? Kylo is a 6 1/2 months old hybrid fluffy bully puppy, so he has a lot of puppy energy and will need someone willing to be patient through continued training and housebreaking. He was recently neutered and had palate surgery and needs just a little more recuperation time. He is already back up to almost full speed playing with his foster siblings, so he would do great with other dogs. He does want to chase our house rabbits, so I would not recommend small animals around him. Since we don’t have cats, I can’t say for certain how he would do around them. I would advise caution since we have no experience to make a suggestion given how he acts around the rabbits though. Kylo has met our neighbors’ small girls and was very friendly and playful around them. He does still jump up and could scratch or knock over a small child, so I would recommend children 8 or older who would be more comfortable handling a high energy puppy. This guy is super silly and loves to flop and have his belly rubbed. He also likes to chase balls and play with his Kong toy. He is a little whiny about his crate when initially put in but settles in and sleeps well in it.

Story
Phoebe is a 6.5-year-old, 20-pound French bulldog who loves everyone she meets. A former puppy mill momma, Phoebe had a rough start to life. Now she is soaking up everything the good life has to offer! Her favorite things are cuddles, turkey, and more cuddles! Phoebe loves to spend time with her humans, but she is also perfect in her crate when her foster mom goes to work. Phoebe is totally puppy pad trained, and she has never had an accident in her crate or off of the puppy pads. She also uses the potty outside, but she is not a huge fan of the cold weather! Phoebe is fostered with a smaller dog and cats. She loves spending time with all furry friends. She absolutely loves children and she would thrive in a home with little pals to call her own. Phoebe is goofy and fun-loving, she takes life in stride. It's hard not to smile when Phoebe is around! If you are looking for someone to light up your life with silliness and affection, then Phoebe is the girl for you! Phoebe is currently being fostered in the Oxford, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
