Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Paris (GA) is a female French Bulldog estimated to be 2 years old at the time of intake in November 2024. Paris is up to date on core vaccinations and is microchipped. She will be spayed prior to joining her forever family unless there is a medical reason it has not yet been completed (in which case RDRNYC will work with the adopter to ensure this is done at the appropriate time). Paris is good with people and other dogs. We found this gorgeous girl suffering in a shelter with a painful eye condition which remained untreated. She is safe at our vet now and has had the surgery she required. Paris is a sweet, friendly pup with the softest fur! If you would like Paris to join your family, please apply online to adopt Paris (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 24, 2024, 1:27 am

Story
Benoit (born: 12/12/2022), weighs 23 pounds and is a French Bulldog who knows how to sit, loves to run and play with the other dogs, has fun with his toys and enjoys having a treat. Born with a congenital eye issue, Benoit had to have surgery to remove his right eye when he was just 10 weeks old and he continues to have follow-ups with an ophthalmologist for his left eye. Benoit also developed a head tilt and the neurologist has diagnosed him with Hydrocephalus and the doctor prescribed Omeprazole – which is a medication he will have to take for life. Since Benoit is still a puppy, the dose for this medication will need to be adjusted as he gains weight. Benoit is also currently on antibiotics for approximately 3 – 4 months – the antibiotics were started 11/11/2023 and after another visit with the Neurologist again on 11/26/2023 it was confirmed he will continue. Benoit is also being tapered from a steroid that the neurologist put him on when his head tilt returned post neuter and nares surgery. It is a long taper of six months and began on 10/1/2023. The head tilt corrected itself for a while but has returned. The doctor believes it is an inner ear infection. He is also due for another revisit with the ophthalmologist for an updated evaluation of the one eye he has. UPDATE 2/11/2024: Benoit has finished his course of antibiotics and he no longer has an obvious head tilt. At his last visit with the neurologist on 1/13/2024, the doctor let us know that in addition to the Omeprazole that Benoit will have to be on a low dose of steroid for life. At his last visit with the ophthalmologist on 1/4/2024, the doctor let us know that Benoit should have annual visits for his eye and that if anything seems wrong with his eye at any time, not to wait and to have it checked out right away, otherwise he could lose the one eye he has. UPDATE 3/17/2024: Benoit had Neurolgy Consult/Follow-Up with his neurologist *per the neurologist, Benoit likely has OMI (Otitis Media/Interna) with exacerbation of underlying congenital malformations *Continue Simplicef 100mg sid for total of 6 months *Continue Prednisone 2.5mg eod long-term *Continue Omeprazole sid long-term *recheck with Neurologist 5 months post starting Simplicef UPDATE 3/28/2024: with Internal Medicine and Ophthalmologist – enucleation site has oozing and the Ophthalmologist says that it can take up to and over a year to completely heal. Per the culture of the site, Internal Medicine prescribed Zenoquin (resistant to other antibiotics for this issue) for at least 2 weeks – will recheck then to see if medication needs to be given for longer. Benoit is a complicated medical case and he will need to see a neurologist and an ophthalmologist for the rest of his life. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. We rescued Fraggle from a local shelter after hearing he had been there over a month with a severely broken leg hoping to be rescued. Unfortunately, he was brought in by someone who had found him injured so we really don't know what happened but we had no choice but to amputate his right hind leg. He is now a happy, playful boy looking for LOVE! Fraggle is neutered, HW tested negative, UTD on all required vaccines and microchipped. Fraggle enjoys life and likes everyone! Two and Four legged! If you would like to bring this special guy into your family and give him the love and life he deserves, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com and we will send our info and application. Story
Hello everyone, I’m Bonbon, a 5–6-year-old Frenchie looking for a forever home. At just 14 pounds, I’m the perfect size to snuggle up in your arms—and trust me, that’s my favorite place to be. I’ve recently been given a whole new lease on life after being surrendered by a puppy mill, and now I’m ready to experience all the love and happiness a forever family can offer. I’m gentle and affectionate, and I’ll let you pick me up anytime. Being held and cuddled is my absolute favorite, and I’ll happily soak up all the love you can give. If you’re looking for a loving companion who’s ready to melt into your arms, I’m your girl! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
I’m Caramel, a sweet and soulful Frenchie looking for my happily-ever-after. At 5–6 years old and just 15 pounds, I’m the perfect little companion to cuddle up with. Life hasn’t always been kind to me—I spent my early years in a puppy mill where I didn’t get the love or care I deserved. I only have one eye now, but that doesn’t stop me from seeing all the beauty and love the world has to offer. I’ve been told I walk very well on a leash. I’m happy to trot by your side and explore the world together. But my favorite thing? Being in your lap and soaking up all the pets and attention you can give me. I’m gentle, affectionate, and just want to be close to someone who will love me for the sweet girl I am. Let’s make a lifetime of happy memories together!
