Story
French Cruller is the most loving and easy right hand man! From day 1 he’s blown his foster parents away with how smart and easy he is - he’s a “ready-made” dog, no training required! He is so well behaved and adaptable, quickly adjusting to a new routine and the city noise without any fuss. He’s simply happy to do whatever his people are doing whether that’s lounging, going for a walk, or playing with his toys. He is SO polite, gentle and well natured. When he’s called over he’ll wiggle his whole body and land right in your lap for a cuddle (he LOVES a cuddle). He is the perfect work from home companion - when his foster parents are at their desks or busy with chores he’ll make himself comfy on his bed and snooze. He’s eager to please and loves to be included. His squishy face, adorable noises and silly mannerisms will surely win you over. To know this little loaf is to love him. His future family is so lucky!!Fill out all below:Personality & Characteristics: He's the sweetest boy. Very loving and easy going. Just a perfect companion. He's superb on the leash. Very confident, but polite and will let you take lead. He will want to say hi to every dog though if you let him. Appetite: Huge. This little guy loves his food! Does the following: (Gets car sick, nervous outside, has separation anxiety, hates the bath, none of the above) None of the above. He's very comfortable and will do anything with his trusted humans. Favorite Things: CUDDLES! This little guy is so loving and is happiest snuggling with you. Story
Meet Lemon Poppyseed This sweet girl was surrendered by a breeder in Georgia. She is currently decompressing, but is surely and slowly coming out of her shell. Each day she becomes more confident and her true personality shines. Her skin which contains scabs suggests that she may not have come from the greatest conditions- but she is on her way to healing. Lemon is currently living with 3 other dogs. However, she definetly prefers to be by herself and the center of attention. She will let her foster siblings know if they are crossing boundaries by letting out a growl/bark. She'd do best as the only dog in the home. However, with proper training, she may be able to adapt to a home with another dog. Lemon is a quiet, sleepy, affectionate girl, and loves when you rub her belly. She is not being kept in a crate, and is still working on house training. Her energy level is pretty low as of right now, but she is still decompressing so it could change! She experiences separation anxiety and will always try to be with her person. She will cry if you leave at first, however she has shown improvement and is doing much better! She is the true definition of a Velcro dog and wants to be your one and only and with you at all times! Lemon has not walked outside yet as she is still too scared on a leash, so she will need to go to a home where someone will continue her basic leash training. Lemon LOVES her food so much that she needs a slow feeder to keep her from gulping all her food down! Lemon is truly the sweetest girl and anyone would be so lucky to have her as a companion. p.s. her cute snorts are to die for ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. Story
Orange Ginger is an angel. She's been loving her new foster home and is becoming more and more comfortable acclimating to her new enviornment every day. She does not like staying in the crate overnight/for long periods of time because of her past neglect. She sleeps in bed because she's a cuddler and will try to get your attention if she has to go out, so she doesn't go to the bathroom inside. It didn't seem like she was propely potty trained when we got her, but she's already been leanring to let us know she has to go outside. She's very smart and picks up on things quickly. She is blind in one eye, so sometimes she comes across as ditsy, but really she's just getting an understanding of her surroundings and quite frankly... it's adorable. She is unphazed by other dogs when we walk outside and new humans can either excite her or she wont even notice they're there. Personality & Characteristics: She's spunky, curious and as sweet as can be. Always wants to snuggle and know that her people are close by. My foster dog is good with: People My foster dog is: Low shed3 Keywords for your pup: Chill, sweet, lovebug Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 3Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Quiet pupWalking Manners: Good! Although she's a little all over the place when she stops at every door where she can see her reflection. She wont tug on the leash or jump up on people around her and if she's sniffing something bad if you tell her to "leave it", she listens and moves on. Because she can't see out of her one eye, she's always stopping and turning her head to see everything around her. She's a southern gal and does not like to stay outside too long in the cold.Appetite: Good! We're getting her used to eating 3 times a day (kibble & pumpkin, but will eat anything)Does the following: She doesn't love the bath, but doesn't fuss. I think she has slight separation anxiety, but doesn't act out, just gets sad and confused when we leave. Favorite Things: Looking at her reflection in the mirror, chin and head scratches & snugglingCommands/Tricks: Currently learning the basics (sit, down, etc.) ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. Story
Benoit (born: 12/12/2022), weighs 23 pounds and is a French Bulldog who knows how to sit, loves to run and play with the other dogs, has fun with his toys and enjoys having a treat. Born with a congenital eye issue, Benoit had to have surgery to remove his right eye when he was just 10 weeks old and he continues to have follow-ups with an ophthalmologist for his left eye. Benoit also developed a head tilt and the neurologist has diagnosed him with Hydrocephalus and the doctor prescribed Omeprazole – which is a medication he will have to take for life. Since Benoit is still a puppy, the dose for this medication will need to be adjusted as he gains weight. Benoit is also currently on antibiotics for approximately 3 – 4 months – the antibiotics were started 11/11/2023 and after another visit with the Neurologist again on 11/26/2023 it was confirmed he will continue. Benoit is also being tapered from a steroid that the neurologist put him on when his head tilt returned post neuter and nares surgery. It is a long taper of six months and began on 10/1/2023. The head tilt corrected itself for a while but has returned. The doctor believes it is an inner ear infection. He is also due for another revisit with the ophthalmologist for an updated evaluation of the one eye he has. UPDATE 2/11/2024: Benoit has finished his course of antibiotics and he no longer has an obvious head tilt. At his last visit with the neurologist on 1/13/2024, the doctor let us know that in addition to the Omeprazole that Benoit will have to be on a low dose of steroid for life. At his last visit with the ophthalmologist on 1/4/2024, the doctor let us know that Benoit should have annual visits for his eye and that if anything seems wrong with his eye at any time, not to wait and to have it checked out right away, otherwise he could lose the one eye he has. UPDATE 3/17/2024: Benoit had Neurolgy Consult/Follow-Up with his neurologist *per the neurologist, Benoit likely has OMI (Otitis Media/Interna) with exacerbation of underlying congenital malformations *Continue Simplicef 100mg sid for total of 6 months *Continue Prednisone 2.5mg eod long-term *Continue Omeprazole sid long-term *recheck with Neurologist 5 months post starting Simplicef UPDATE 3/28/2024: with Internal Medicine and Ophthalmologist – enucleation site has oozing and the Ophthalmologist says that it can take up to and over a year to completely heal. Per the culture of the site, Internal Medicine prescribed Zenoquin (resistant to other antibiotics for this issue) for at least 2 weeks – will recheck then to see if medication needs to be given for longer. Benoit is a complicated medical case and he will need to see a neurologist and an ophthalmologist for the rest of his life. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home.
