WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Depending which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a donation of $850 from each adopter. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.
Name: Rocki
Breed: French Bulldog
Age: 1 year old
Home Recommendation: Rocki needs a home with Frenchie experience, or a dog owner who can keep this cutie in line. He will need someone who is home more often than not to love up on him! He needs structure, continued training, and socialization to make him the best boy we know he can become.
Medical: Rocki is currently experiencing some minor urinary incontinence issues and is wearing a belly band. He has been seen by a specialist and began medication to see if the issue will improve/resolve. It is possible that he will experience these issues throughout his lifetime, so it is important that his forever home is willing to accommodate this. He is able to be crated without issue and only seems to have slight accidents while walking/standing. An ideal forever home would be able to keep him on a set schedule as not have long hours away from home.
Personality: Rocki is stingy with kisses, but not with his love! There is nothing he loves more than snuggling under blankets or a good squeaky ball. He is very curious and a smart boy. He quickly learned his basic commands; sit, paw, down, stay, and crate. Rocki is very alert, loves chasing anything that move, and sneaking acorns on a walk. He is a great companion and would love following you around the house. Rocki loves to play chase, so ready your vacuum for some fun loving, Frenchie play chasing! He is very independent and enjoys going into his toy basket and selecting whatever he wants to play with and will occupy himself.
Kids: 13+
Dogs: Rocki needs a proper introduction to other dogs and to take it slow. He can be easily excited and needs to work on his manners. He enjoys playing, a lot, so being in a home with dogs with an equally matched level of play and energy, is important!

House Trained: Working on it!
Leash Manners: Working on it! Walks nicely by your side, and will sit when asked. If Rocki sees children running by, or people on bikes, he can pull in excitement.
Why did he come to WISE? Rocki's family was limited in their time and resources to be able to help Rocki with a medical condition he was dealing with, at the time. They made the decision to surrender him to WISE, to help him get the best care possible, and ultimately find the best home for Rocki.
