Story
Meet Watson Doyle, a sweet senior French Bulldog with special needs. Watson has a unique swagger due to some mobility issues from arthritis and possibly an old injury to his right side. Even though he has limited vision, he gets around really well and doesn't bump into things. He seems to be able to see things that are close to him better.    Watson’s favorite times of day are naptime, mealtime, and bedtime. He loves back rubs and scratches. He doesn't mind being gently picked up and carried. He likes sitting with you sometimes but he's also mostly content to just be nearby in a dog bed. He can be vocal and will bark and howl occasionally. He may also whimper a little and wag his tail if he smells something tasty he’d like for you to share. As he's gotten more comfortable in his foster home, he’s started trotting to his foster mom when she gets home from an outing or when she’s got his food bowl ready. He’s such a special little guy that deserves to be pampered the rest of his life!   The Basics Age: Estimated 8 - 9 yrs old Weight: 17 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes On Heartworm Prevention: Yes On Flea/Tick Prevention: Yes House-Trained: Yes, but may have accidents if left alone for long periods or if he walks to the door a few times and no one notices.  Crate-Trained: Not desired, does better left alone in a gated space. Leash Skills: Does okay on a leash, but better to carry him long distances.  Medical: Has limited vision and requires Tacrolimus eye drops twice a day and artificial tear drops as needed. Takes Vetprofen for pain/inflammation twice a day. Has some sensitivity in his backend, especially around his tail. Recent labs were good. Had a growth removed that was hanging from his chest - our vet felt it was slow growing and of no concern.    Likes/Dislikes  Toys: No interest in toys or chewing bones Other Animals: Seems to like the company of other animals. He's living with several other dogs in his foster home and has sniffed at a few of them and wagged his tail but hasn't engaged much otherwise.  People/Kids: Sweet with all, but needs a typically low key home  Car Rides: Usually sleeps on car rides. Separation: May bark or howl if he's aware you're leaving or have left him alone. His foster family usually lets him settle in a dog bed before they sneak out of the house.   Contact/Application Info  Questions? Contact his foster, Amber, at amber@bostonterriertn.org. Current location: Near Abingdon, VA Adoption Fee: $275 Ready to Apply to Adopt? Visit www.bostonterriertn.org!Please use the foster momma or dad's contact information above for questions. The process always begins with an application which can be found at The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee website Note that in most cases, we do not adopt to families with small children, e.g., 'under 6,' as a precaution to the child's safety and the dog's safety. In some cases with larger Boston mixes or other dogs, we do make exceptions. Please ask the foster momma. We prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to personally drive/fly to get the dog.  The East Coast division (NC/SC/VA/MD/DC) does have special transport capabilties for their kids.   Ask them. Also, submission of an application and fee does not guarantee adoption of any specific Boston since that particular dog may have applications pending or may not be the right match for you.October 1, 2022, 10:21 pm

Story
Georgie is a 5 year old French Bulldog who came to us in horrible condition. He is the product of bad breeding and has some congenital defects. He arrived here underweight, gasping for air and regurgitating nearly all his food. He has had surgical procedures to correct his stenotic nares & elongated soft palate. His tonsils were also removed. He now breathes more easily, keeps down 95-100% of his food and is a more healthy weight. He is the smallest adult Frenchie we have seen at just 11lbs & was likely the runt of his litter. He does need to eat 3 small meals daily off of a lick mat and he takes Prilosec & Mylanta twice a day. Georgie is calm, sweet & quiet. He gets along with other dogs and would do fine with cats. He’s neutered, UTD on vaccines & microchipped. We do believe he was living in a crate prior to coming to us because his booty, legs & paws were stained from urine & feces so he is not potty trained. He does however do well going out frequently. Requirements to adopt Georgie: * Schedule that allows for his lunchtime feeding & frequent potty breaks * No kids under the age of 10 living in the home. Visiting younger kids are fine. If you’d like to give him the home he’s always deserved, send an email inquiry to Lovetotherescueinc@gmail.com We do not accept phone call inquiries. Georgie is fostered in Wesley Chapel, FL. Our travel time for home checks must not exceed 1 hour.

Story
Rhino may have had a rough start in life, but his resilience and loving nature are nothing short of inspirational. Rescued from the streets, where he was emaciated and surviving in heartbreaking conditions, Rhino has undergone a remarkable transformation. His past may be behind him, but his future is looking bright and filled with love. With his charming underbite and big, soulful eyes, Rhino has a special way of melting hearts. This sweet boy thrives on attention and is happiest snuggled up beside someone. Whether it’s wagging his tail, showering you with kisses, or just being a goofy cuddle bug, Rhino is a constant reminder of the power of love and second chances. Rhino gets along with kids and other dogs, making him a great addition to a family. While he hasn’t been tested with cats yet, his gentle nature suggests he’ll approach any new situation with his signature sweetness.  He is supposed to be about 3 years old. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Adoption fee is $350 and you can adopt me at WWW.POLKADOGZ.ORG. ##2285658##
