Story
We got her as a pup, birthday July 30th 2022, 2.5 years old and she was wonderful but once I became pregnant and gave birth she’s been acting out and marking. Messing with my infants stuff. We want a home that can give her more attention than we can provide. She’s playful and loves cuddling and warm space heaters. Can blow through a peanut chew and loves walks.

Story
**French bulldogs are highly prone to major medical issues such as IVDD and heat stroke and require extra precautions to ensure their safety and well-being. We are specifically looking for a bulldog-savvy home for Maple.**    Meet the sweetest girl around, Maple! Maple is estimated to be 6 years old and is quick to win your heart with her friendly personality and adorable little snorts. She a couch potato at heart, but has bursts of energy when she loves to play with her toys. She loves making new human friends and getting to be the center of attention. Maple weighs about 19lbs, but is underweight and would benefit from filling out a little. Maple came to us from a local shelter after she was found as a stray with a fractured leg. We partnered with the UC Davis Fracture Program and we were able to get her the necessary surgery to heal her leg. She was also treated for a severe skin infection and obstructive airway disease. Maple is now all healed and ready for her fur-ever home. Her leg will never be completely normal, but she can do all the things she loves. Maple has been loving life in a foster home and her favorite pastime is cuddling with her foster parents. She is the perfect work-from-home buddy and is happy to curl up by your feet, or on the bed, while you are busy. She isn't the biggest fan of walks, especially if it is raining, but she enjoys going to the park to check out the smells. She wants to meet everyone she sees and becomes instant BFFs with all the people she meets.  Maple seems like she might do well living with other mellow dogs, but she also wouldn't mind being your only canine companion. She has done well living with a cat and is good about ignoring the cat and respecting its space. She could make a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years or older. Maple has been doing great with her housetraining with a routine, but her new family should expect a few accidents while she is adjusting to being in a new environment. She does well sleeping in her crate at night, and while her foster parents are gone. She would do best in a home where she doesn't have to be home alone for long periods and she is very much a people-oriented gal. Maple has done well living in an apartment. While in our care Maple has undergone treatment for skin allergies and obstructive airway syndrome. Her allergies have been kept under control by keeping her up-to-date with her flea/tick preventatives and being on a sensitive skin diet. Her new family will need to ensure they continue with that care to prevent any allergy flare-ups. Maple requires a twice-daily anti-acid medication to reduce the likelihood of regurgitation due to her OAS. Her new family will need to continue giving the medication. Due to her medical conditions, Maple's adopter should be prepared to pay for future medical costs, especially since these conditions will be considered pre-existing and not covered by pet insurance. Maple is such a special girl and she deserves a family just as great as she is. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Maple's adoption fee is $500.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/         Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. December 19, 2024, 2:55 pm

Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Potter is a special needs pup with hydrocephalus; he needs a family that will keep his head safe and be ok with his developmental delays. WHAT IS YOUR NAME? My name is Potter, Hydrocephalus Superhero. ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I’m a little boy. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born around January 28, 2023. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I’m a French Bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? 18lbs WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a cute, little guy! I’m white and brindle piebald, whatever piebald means. I have a little arrow marking on my forehead and white frosting on my ears. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I like moist kibble and dog-friendly treats. I’m not too sure about the carrots or apples that my foster mom offers me, but if you gave me some chicken or other tasty dog-friendly food from your plate, I would probably gobble it up! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? Well, I’m not sure if you know, but I’m kind of a big deal! And all the things that make me different are the same things that make me special. I’m sweet and spunky and living in the moment is my style. I am playful and love to wrestle and chew on my foster brother Tater. I’ve been told I can be kinda demanding; sometimes, I fuss and bark to let you know I want attention, food, or need to go potty. Sometimes, I howl when I’m in my carrier or crate because I want out! But I settle down easily. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day starts with a “good morning, Potter” and scratchies from my foster mom. Then I do a big stretch, go potty, and get ready for breakfast. Sometimes, I go back to sleep for a bit afterward. Once I’m up, I’m ready to play, explore, and find something to chew on like my Benebone. I eat lunch and nap. I spend time chilling, playing tug-o-war, maybe have another nap, and more exploring. I take my medication at 7:00 p.m. sharp and start my bedtime routine of chewing a yak stick, and then snuggle and sleep. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Anything to tug-o-war and my yak stick. If you let me, I will nibble your fingers and toes. Sometimes I wrestle the dog bed and drag it as far as I can! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? No, but I know my name and I come when being called. I’m not sure about learning more. WHAT SCARES YOU? Sometimes loud noises and sudden overhead movement can be scary. I’m little, so people standing over me make me cower or try to get away. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? Yes, but because I can’t play rough and need to be safe guarded, it’s best if I am around older kids that understand. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I don’t think I’ve met a cat, so I am not sure. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I LOVE other dogs. They are fun, but being around gentle dogs that are not too big, who won’t knock me over, or squish me, is safer. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Hanging out with my person or forever family doing whatever they’re doing. I’m easy going. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I was born with Hydrocephalus. I have no idea what that is, but like I said, I’m a superhero and I’m gonna live every day to the fullest. Hydro makes me wobble around, unsteady on my feet, and fall over, but it doesn’t slow me down or stop me from having fun! Humans must be careful with me and ensure my head is protected as much as possible. Other than that, I’m great! Did I mention I am kind of a big deal? WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and my foster brother. I love them both! I really like my foster brother because he lets me chew on him. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I stay in my very own X-pen with toys and a fluffy bed to lounge on, access to my food and water, and plenty of room to potty if I need to. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep on my comfy bed in my very own penned area – you know, superhero style. Sometimes, I fall asleep with my foster mom and magically wake up in my bed. I think it must be one of my superpowers. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? The most important thing for me with walks is that I won’t be going on any walks on the hard pavement. I’ll probably be more of a explore and stumble around on the soft grass kind of guy…. In case I fall over. DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? Um, I like to bark demands and do mischievous stuff, like tear up my potty pads when bored… I don’t think that is so bad. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) No, I go potty on potty pads and sometimes I just go wherever I happen to be. I might be able to be potty-trained, but you’ll have to be very patient with me. DO YOU LIKE WATER? Only to drink and for bathing. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love that they protect me, are patient and kind, play with me, and love me. I’m living the dream. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I was born different, so some nice ladies rescued me and brought me from far away to NorCal. Now, I live in a wonderful foster home and my future is wide open… Did I mention I am kind of a big deal? If you’d like to have a superhero in your life, I am SO ready to love you forever! **Potter's adoption fee is $1,000.00** If you are interested in adopting Potter, please jump on our website and read why about the adoption fees for special breeds BEFORE filling out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I’m Quiche! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m a darling little girl. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I am a little over one year old as of the end of 2024. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a French Bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am around 19 pounds of pure cute! WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am beautiful tan color with a sprinkle of brown on my back and I have the cutest little button nose! WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I like to eat my dry kibble for meals. But, oh boy, do I love fruit as well! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am a young pup, so I have a lot of energy. I love to run fast and I love to play with ALL the toys. I’m a little bundle of fun! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY? I love hanging out with my people, playing with my toys, and getting lots of attention from anyone and everyone! That sounds just perfect to me! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I like all toys. And I really love my yummy Benebones. They’re tasty! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I am still a young girl, so I am a work in progress. Learning to be a good girl is tricky… so that’s what we can call my tricks for now. WHAT SCARES YOU? Loud noises scare me. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I will pass on children, thank you. I am partial to the grown up humans and would do best in a child-free home. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I have two cats that I share a room with in my foster home. I like them a lot! I’d like to play with them, but they are not really interested in playing with me. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I like other dogs, especially if they will play with me! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I would be with my family that loves me, likes to cuddle, lets me sleep in the house and will never let me go. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am in great health! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom, five doggies, and two cats! WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I am safe and cozy in my crate. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in a crate in the cats’ room! DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? Yes, I walk very well on a leash. The world is so interesting and I love to explore! DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? Did I mention I’m young? So, yup, I do typical young pup things and need patience and guidance to become my best doggy self. But as I grow up, I will learn what is good and what is not so good. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I am potty trained! We have a doggie door in my foster home and I just go outside when I need to potty. Sometimes it is hard to hold my potty overnight, but I am getting better and better! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I am getting used to it. But I am a Frenchie, and we are not built for water activities, so please keep me safe from pools or other large bodies of water. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? My foster family gives me lots of love. I get to play with lots of friends and they are patient with me! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I’m not really sure what happened before. I know the nice people at NorCal Bully Breed Rescue took me in when no one else wanted me. I am so excited to find a family that will want to love me forever and ever! It’s such a dream for me to feel like I belong and I have a home of my own. Will you please love me? **THE ADOPTION FEE FOR QUICHE IS $1,500.** For information on why our Bulldog fees are set as they are, please click on the following link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5004742079644959&id=333019703483910&mibextid=qC1gEa If you are interested in QUICHE, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County).
