Story
I adopted Bruce from the San Diego Humane Society and I was excited the moment I got him. He has been a dream come true for me as I’ve always wanted a Black Frenchie. He is a very loving dog who will never leave your side, has all his shots and is on flea medicine, has zoomies and likes jumping, he would sleep all day if he could, he loves playing with toys. It saddens me to write this as the issue am I having is I have 3 other French bulldogs in the home and he gets along with the youngest and oldest great but the middle one he attacks him and locks on to his head I’ve been bit separating them twice. They haven’t interacted in weeks as we keep them apart. Please note he would probably thrive in a home where he is the only dog although I have seen him do well with my other frenchies it’s no guarantees he will like your dog, he is very selective and will make it very apparent if he doesn’t like another dog. Please let me know if you are interested and I will get back to you.

Story
There is nothing bratty about cute little Bratt! He is around 6 to 7 months old and full of playful fun. We aren't quite sure of his breed mix but could maybe see French Bulldog, Beagle and Boston Terrier in him. We think he has some more filling out to do but will be a medium sized guy when he is done growing. He is super sweet, good with other dogs, and eager to learn new things. He is even good with dog savvy cats. He is working on house training and crate training. He loves to give kisses, chew on toys and do zoomies around the yard. Bratt is looking for a family that understands the time, patience, and energy needed to raise a young pup. Additionally, this cutie is going to need proper exercise, mental stimulation, and your attention and love to grow up to be the best companion. If you think you are ready to add to your family by adopting Bratt, then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! We recommend completing the questionnaire and connecting with an adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps. Your interest in adopting a rescued dog or puppy from Labs and More Rescue is appreciated! Please find our adoption information at www.labsandmore.org. Your adoption donation provides funding for Labs and More, a nonprofit organization which is supported solely by Volunteers and funded by donations. Good news is your adoption donation can be considered tax deductible. So much care is provided to your new dog prior to the adoption, including: spay and neuter, microchip, veterinarian visit(s), vaccinations, and other medical care as needed. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog. We provide no guarantees regarding behavior, breed, or age of the dogs. Thank you for rescuing. Thank you for joining the Adoption Family with Labs and More Rescue. We are here to help you find a furry companion. You will find our quick and easy adoption application at www.labsandmore.org and click on Adopt. Story
This funny mug belongs to Squashy Nice! We call her Squash, Squish, Squoosh, Smoosh, Shorty McSnorty, Speed Bump, or Buzzsaw ;) There’s probably more. How much time do you have? Squash is a petite Frenchie pup who had the misfortune to be used by a breeder, but when her basic medical needs started to put a dent in the profits, they abandoned her. She was found roaming the streets with such bad ear infections that the shelter thought she needed to have her ear canals closed permanently. Thankfully, after they saved her from moving vehicles, the shelter staff were able to start healing her ears with meds. Lucky girl! Because she can definitely hear! We finished the treatments with our awesome rescue vet, and now her ears look great and she's ready to find a responsible, loving family of her own! Squoosh was probably born around February 2023. She's not even two yet and has already been a mom, possibly more than once. She was emaciated when we first got her but looks great now at 22ish pounds – and it’s crucial for her health and joints that she doesn’t become overweight. She's a roly-poly little girl, not built like a greyhound at all :-) In fact, she's a lot like a potbelly pig, and she snorts enough to give the pigs a run for their money! She has the energy of an area rug, with an occasional zoomie thrown in ;) She was rather unruly, in the way of most adolescents, when she first walked through the door to her foster home, but she’s been working hard on her manners ever since! Her foster fam is so impressed with how much she has learned and how greatly her manners have improved. We know it's a lot for a lost little shelter dog to wrap their head around so quickly, and we’re really quite proud of her! And so, we are looking for pet parents who understand leadership and appreciate little puppies with lovely manners. We want to see Squash in a home with folks who will continue to reinforce her impressive behavior! Frenchies aren’t typically known for being polite and respectful, so we're excited to have the best mannered Frenchie on the planet in our rescue! She's a smart little gremlin and treat motivated too. You can't ask for much more than that. Squishy's forever family will have older children if any, and a peaceful, low energy environment preferably with a companion dog. A fenced yard is required, doesn't have to be a big one. Stairs are difficult though, so a place without too many is best. She gets along with everyone she meets - although like most little dogs and like so many French bulls, she can be barky when she sees new people or dogs, but she'll turn it off if you ask her to! Her favorite hobbies include trying to steal the big dogs’ beds, taking naps, snuggling, farting (sometimes while napping/snuggling), eating, and laying in the middle of the floor in the best location to trip you up. Equally important, Squash's future family should fully understand the extra expenses that come with having a brachycephalic dog. These guys have been bred to look a certain way for human pleasure alone, but in doing so we've created a number of inherent health concerns. Many Frenchies need airway surgery so they can breathe easier - it's not cheap. Heat stroke is also a major concern when your face is smooshed back into your skull. A lot of bulldog types deal with skin issues and/or allergies (which a raw food diet can really help). Too many Frenchies are also afflicted with spinal issues, sometimes resulting in rear end paralysis. We’re looking for parents who are not afraid of the vet (and the cost), and who will be extra careful with her activity so she has less risk of spinal injury and IVDD. She already has a hitch in her step so she should take it easy, not be overly rambunctious, and absolutely no jumping on and off furniture. All this might seem like a tall ask, but if you want a fancy breeder dog, you’ve gotta accept all that comes with it. Frenchies are not the dog for everyone, but if you’re ready, hit us up! She’s a hoot and will keep you in stitches all day long. Even if she’s fast asleep! adoptions@waggingdog.org ~ Adoptions within Southern California only please ~ http://waggingdog.org/September 29, 2024, 12:23 am

Story
The girl with the winning smile! Hey guys! I am Sussie, Sussie Q. I am a 4 years old, female Pug mix, spayed and about 11 lbs. Heard of the Chandler 55 case? Yes, I am a part of the disabled hoarded dog pack that was rescued from the monster house. With my sweet spirit and smile, you’d never guess what I have gone through. But only when you see my vet report! It’s manageable I pawmise. I have Congenital Angular front limb deformity and Chronic orthopedic condition that affects mobility in hind legs that may have been caused by soft tissue injury that has healed. I have started a monthly injection of Librela (Cost depends on established vet pricing and dosage, ~$100-$200). It is the first and only monthly anti-NGF Monoclonal antibody injection to help control pain for canines with Osteoarthritis. At this time, my foster mom states that the Librela is working. As long as I am being medically managed for mobility issues no surgery is necessary, but will not know know more until later. Surgery will be my adopter's financial responsibility if it is determined it is needed later by our future established vet. Regarding my training, I am leash trained for the 5-10 min walks I take due to leg deformities. The stroller with a soft blankie is my friend! I am pee pad trained. I am not crate trained. Now coming to my personality, the best part! My mama says that I am an absolute perfection! I love playing with dogs and toys, chewing on bones and sometimes your stuff haha but being all cute about it! I am a lap dog and you'd love my snuggles. If I could climb up on your shoulders and into your skin, I would do it! We can be best mates watching tv, all cuddling and being adorable. I am quite fond of dogs, but big ones are scarier and need warming up time. I haven't met cats yet, but I think I will be fine. what, how do I even chase them?! I am very good with kids! I do get separation anxiety where I get anxious and scream, but having another dog completely calms me. I am obviously not a hiking dog, but I do make a good cafe date in my stroller. I am always grateful for my rescue and leaving behind that house of horrors. I do a lil dance when I get a new soft blanket and my zeal is infectious. I am the absolutely cutest little nugget that everyone falls in love with when they meet. I am looking for only the best home that will spoil me rotten because that is what this little princess deserves. If there are no dogs in the home I will need humans around for companionship. Any DINK couple around that likes to bring their dog everywhere with them? I am looking for a home with the best chew bones, softest blankets, and good sunbathing spots. If you think you have that X-factor, let's go get a drink together! My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. Story
Easy, chill and loving! Hi, friends! My name is Atreyu, and I’m a 1-year-old, 31-pound, neutered Bulldog Mix.  I’ve come all the way from a shelter in Riverside, where my owner tried to relinquish me.  The shelter was at capacity at the time, but thankfully, TAP was there to scoop me up and give me a second chance at life! I’m told that I’m a super sweet boy who loves people.  My tail is always wagging, and I’m happy to see every person I meet.  I love cuddling in bed and playing tug-o-war.  I tend to wear myself out quickly during playtime, and when that happens, I like to retreat to my gated area and get a few hours of sleep.  In general, I’m a low-maintenance guy who craves routine and structure, and I do best in a calm and non-chaotic environment.  As far as training goes, I am making great progress with my potty training, and I’ve almost mastered leash training, as I do well on short walks and don’t pull.  I’m food motivated and easily trainable, so I’m confident I’ll be an expert in these two areas in no time! I also do well inside a gated area, but please don’t put me in a crate because those scare me. I don’t show any signs of separation anxiety when left behind, but I do tend to get overwhelmed easily in certain environments. To help me manage my anxiety and fixation on objects as I continue my training, I’ve been taking Prozac (~$5 for a month’s supply. Price depends on where purchased and market value).  Thankfully, I can be easily redirected when encountering a distraction, but I need structure and consistency in my environment to help support me with this. I think I’d do best in a mellow home with someone who understands the Bulldog breed and all of its quirks. I don’t need a lot of exercise, so a small house and yard would be just fine. I prefer to be left home in my gated area rather than be out and about with you.  However, as I gain more confidence and have more exposure to new situations, I’m sure I won’t be as overwhelmed as easily in public. I’d probably be best as the only doggie since I don’t like to share my toys. However, it’s possible that with a slow introduction and the right pup, I might be okay with a doggie sibling.  Absolutely no kitties, though, since I have a strong prey drive.  As far as kiddos go, I think I’d be fine around older kids (12 years and up) since I’m a vigorous player and sometimes can’t tell the difference between little fingers and toys. Even though I’m small, I’m strong and mighty and could be too much for little humans.  Do we sound like a good match? My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.   ##2180245##
