Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sacramento- *special needs* Zooey is a floppy eared Frenchie who came from a backyard breeder. When she became unable to walk because of IVDD, they did nothing. This has left her with two useless back legs and is incontinent. She is super cute with her floppy ears (she looks like a mini English because of them). She gets around on her own with her front legs and will use her back legs to stand up when outside. She will need to wear diapers forever, but it is way easier than you would think. She came to us with poor skin, open wounds, and missing a lot of hair, but now she is looking great and ready for a home. She was super extra with other dogs when she first came and now lives with a gang of them but she is possessive of her crate and her food. She is good with kids (no idea about cats but she is slower than any so it wouldn't matter anyway).   She will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and ready for a life of love.   You can find out more about our available dogs and appt online at: http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoptpet/   Adoption fee: $500 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 22, 2024, 12:24 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*SPECIAL NEEDS* Meet Croquette, affectionately known as K, a French Bulldog puppy who is not only adorable but truly special in every way. Despite facing some significant challenges, K embodies the spirit of resilience and boundless joy. This delightful pup shares all the typical traits of a French Bulldog puppy – she loves to play, indulge in chewy hooves, enjoy her meals, and bask in the warmth of snuggles. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she'll dance with excitement, hoping you'll scoop her up for some extra love. K, however, is a very special girl, born with severe defects, including Spina Bifida with an open defect and leg differences, as well as hydrocephalus (or missing parts of her brain). These conditions mean that her back legs didn't form correctly, and she'll require diapers throughout her life. Her balance is a work in progress, and she may experiences occasional seizures (no meds required as none have helped). While K's special care demands around 45 minutes a day, she firmly believes she deserves attention at all times. She is on the lookout for a family that can provide constant companionship. Foster mom works but luckily someone stops in to care for K during the day.  K will eat hard food but doesn't have the drive for water, so she is fed mush (often by the spoon) to make sure she gets hydrated.  Handling her bathroom needs involves gentle expressions, a routine that K takes in stride. This may seem like a lot, but the reward is immeasurable – the sheer happiness and joy that K brings to every moment. In terms of life expectancy, K's story aligns with another dog adopted out six years ago with similar conditions, who is still thriving today. While the duration of any dog's life is uncertain, what truly matters is the love and cherishment they receive during their time. For those willing to embrace the uniqueness of caring for a special needs pup and provide a loving home, the adoption fee is waived for the right match. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Bubba Sparx, the one-year-old bundle of joy who is as unique as his name suggests. Bubba is a special French Bulldog and Boston Terrier mix, also known as a Frenchton, and he comes with an extra special trait—he's deaf. But don't let that fool you; this charming pup is ready to steal your heart with his infectious personality. Bubba Sparx sports a mostly white coat that adds to his distinctive appearance. His love for people knows no bounds, making him a social butterfly who adores everyone he meets. Full of energy and enthusiasm, Bubba is a playful companion, always up for a game or two. He is only about a year old, so he is pretty puppy still.  Despite his hearing impairment, he's excelling in learning hand signals, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to communicate. This little guy is making great strides in his training journey. He's acing potty training and has mastered the art of being the perfect houseguest in his crate. Bubba is also in the process of conquering the challenge of using stairs, proving that he's a quick learner with a can-do attitude. Bubba Sparx's heart is set on finding a home where he can share his love for play with another dog companion. His playful spirit and happiness are truly contagious, making him an ideal addition to any dog-loving family. It's disheartening to learn that Bubba Sparx was left at a groomer's office, abandoned by owners who never returned for him. Despite this, he remains a beacon of joy, ready to bring love and laughter to a family who will appreciate his perfection. If you're seeking a loving and resilient furry friend, Bubba Sparx is the ideal match. Give this exceptional pup the chance to be cherished and adored in a forever home that recognizes his uniqueness and embraces his boundless love. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.  You can find our adoption process and apply online at: http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoptpet/ Adoption fee $800 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 22, 2024, 12:24 am

Story
Potter is a special needs pup with hydrocephalus; he needs a family that will keep his head safe and be ok with his developmental delays. WHAT IS YOUR NAME? My name is Potter, Hydrocephalus Superhero. ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I’m a little boy. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born around January 28, 2023. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I’m a French Bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? 18lbs WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a cute, little guy! I’m white and brindle piebald, whatever piebald means. I have a little arrow marking on my forehead and white frosting on my ears. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I like moist kibble and dog-friendly treats. I’m not too sure about the carrots or apples that my foster mom offers me, but if you gave me some chicken or other tasty dog-friendly food from your plate, I would probably gobble it up! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? Well, I’m not sure if you know, but I’m kind of a big deal! And all the things that make me different are the same things that make me special. I’m sweet and spunky and living in the moment is my style. I am playful and love to wrestle and chew on my foster brother Tater. I’ve been told I can be kinda demanding; sometimes, I fuss and bark to let you know I want attention, food, or need to go potty. Sometimes, I howl when I’m in my carrier or crate because I want out! But I settle down easily. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day starts with a “good morning, Potter” and scratchies from my foster mom. Then I do a big stretch, go potty, and get ready for breakfast. Sometimes, I go back to sleep for a bit afterward. Once I’m up, I’m ready to play, explore, and find something to chew on like my Benebone. I eat lunch and nap. I spend time chilling, playing tug-o-war, maybe have another nap, and more exploring. I take my medication at 7:00 p.m. sharp and start my bedtime routine of chewing a yak stick, and then snuggle and sleep. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Anything to tug-o-war and my yak stick. If you let me, I will nibble your fingers and toes. Sometimes I wrestle the dog bed and drag it as far as I can! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? No, but I know my name and I come when being called. I’m not sure about learning more. WHAT SCARES YOU? Sometimes loud noises and sudden overhead movement can be scary. I’m little, so people standing over me make me cower or try to get away. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? Yes, but because I can’t play rough and need to be safe guarded, it’s best if I am around older kids that understand. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I don’t think I’ve met a cat, so I am not sure. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I LOVE other dogs. They are fun, but being around gentle dogs that are not too big, who won’t knock me over, or squish me, is safer. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Hanging out with my person or forever family doing whatever they’re doing. I’m easy going. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I was born with Hydrocephalus. I have no idea what that is, but like I said, I’m a superhero and I’m gonna live every day to the fullest. Hydro makes me wobble around, unsteady on my feet, and fall over, but it doesn’t slow me down or stop me from having fun! Humans must be careful with me and ensure my head is protected as much as possible. Other than that, I’m great! Did I mention I am kind of a big deal? WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and my foster brother. I love them both! I really like my foster brother because he lets me chew on him. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I stay in my very own X-pen with toys and a fluffy bed to lounge on, access to my food and water, and plenty of room to potty if I need to. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep on my comfy bed in my very own penned area – you know, superhero style. Sometimes, I fall asleep with my foster mom and magically wake up in my bed. I think it must be one of my superpowers. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? The most important thing for me with walks is that I won’t be going on any walks on the hard pavement. I’ll probably be more of a explore and stumble around on the soft grass kind of guy…. In case I fall over. DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? Um, I like to bark demands and do mischievous stuff, like tear up my potty pads when bored… I don’t think that is so bad. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) No, I go potty on potty pads and sometimes I just go wherever I happen to be. I might be able to be potty-trained, but you’ll have to be very patient with me. DO YOU LIKE WATER? Only to drink and for bathing. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love that they protect me, are patient and kind, play with me, and love me. I’m living the dream. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I was born different, so some nice ladies rescued me and brought me from far away to NorCal. Now, I live in a wonderful foster home and my future is wide open… Did I mention I am kind of a big deal? If you’d like to have a superhero in your life, I am SO ready to love you forever! **Potter's adoption fee is $1,000.00** If you are interested in adopting Potter, please jump on our website and read why about the adoption fees for special breeds BEFORE filling out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hello, I’m Raisin! 🩷 ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m an energetic young lady. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I am between two and three years old WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I’m a French Bulldog. 🐶 HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I’m 26 pounds of perfection. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I’m adorable! I have a gray brindle coat and the most impressive underbite you’ve ever seen! My show stopper is my ears - one stands up, one flops down. Humans can’t resist my cuteness.🥰 WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I’m a big fan of my kibble for breakfast and dinner, and I love doggie treats! Carrots too. Those little orange sticks are delicious! 🥕🥕 I will do just about anything for a treat. Sit. Stay. Walk up the silly couch stairs the humans have set up for me. If food is involved, I’m in! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am a curious gal and I hate to miss out on anything. I want to be around the action and my people all the time. If not much is happening, I’ll take a nap until the fun starts again. I’m loving, snuggly, and playful too. Everyone laughs when I get the zoomies after dinner. I don’t want to brag, but I’m pretty fast. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day would start with snuggles as soon as I wake up. Then breakfast and a walk around the neighborhood to say hello to all my friends. I’d come home and take a nap to recharge before playing in the yard. All that running around would make me sleepy again so I’d take an afternoon nap with my foster mom. Our dog-friend, Harvey, would come over for dinner and we’d play in the backyard all evening. Then, to top it all off, I’d get to snuggle in bed with my foster parents all night. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I love balls! They are so much fun to chase! 🎾 DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I can put an entire tennis ball in my mouth! I’m not great at bringing it back yet, but I sure do love to chase it! I’ll sit for a treat, and am pretty good at “stay” now too! I also respond quickly to the word “No.” I’m a good girl so I don’t hear it too often, but when I do, I know that I have to stop what I’m doing. 😇 WHAT SCARES YOU? Sudden loud noises startle me, but I’m a brave girl. The vacuum cleaner is curious. I can’t decide if I want to play with it or stay away. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I love kids and they love me! I get to play with big kids and the ones more my size, too. My foster family has a 14 and 11-year old. I love them and their friends too. I recently got to spend a week with a 5-year old and 17-month old and I was a very good girl with both ages. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I’m not sure if I’ve ever met a cat. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I LOVE to play with other dogs!!! But I want to be the favorite, so I’ll wedge myself between another dog and the humans if they are giving that dog too much attention. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Napping with my human. I love to snuggle up for a nap. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am a healthy gal! Before my foster family started caring for me, I was hit by a car, so I favor my right rear leg, but it doesn’t slow me down. I’ve been told not to jump on or off of things and not to climb many stairs, but I need guidance from my humans to keep me in line with those rules. WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster dad, foster mom, two big kids - 14 and 11, and their resident dog. My foster mom is my favorite. I follow her around all day and love to snuggle up with her anytime she sits down. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I have the entire office all to myself! It has my dog bed, food and water in it. I’m such a good girl when I’m in the office. I don’t bark or whimper at all. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in the office too. I don’t mind it, but I’d rather sleep with the humans. 😴 Have I mentioned that I love to cuddle? DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? Walking on a leash is so much fun! I’m pretty good at it, if I do say so myself. I don’t need a long walk; maybe half a mile or so. 🦮 DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I wouldn’t call barking at other dogs from the window a bad habit. I’m protecting the house from potential danger. 🦸 ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I am doing my best. My humans take me outside first thing every morning and make sure I go outside throughout the day. I’m learning to tell someone that I need to go potty by going to a door, but I still have an accident occasionally. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I love to stand in the kiddie pool when it’s hot outside, but I am not built for swimming. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? My foster family is home a lot, so we can spend tons of time together. I love all the action when the kids and dogs are around, and the quiet moments are nice too. They have a backyard that I can run around in, a big dog that I try to play with all the time, and they let me cuddle up on the couch with them. Being part of the family is the best. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? That is such a good question. I don’t remember much from before NorCal Bully Breed Rescue found me. All I know is that I am ready now to find a family that I can call my own forever and ever. Maybe you can be my family? 💕 ⭐️RAISIN’S ADOPTION FEE IS $1,500.⭐️ For information on why our Bulldog fees are set as they are, please click on the following link: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5004742079644959&id=333019703483910&mibextid=qC1gEa If you are interested in adopting RAISIN, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County).
