Miss Birdie is guessed to be 6-7 years old and about 35 lbs. Meet the handsome Millie, born in Texas on May 27, 2023, when her momma delivered 9 beautiful puppies. While her momma is believed to be a purebred Harrier, the identity of the daddy remains a mystery. Millie found her way to our rescue due to challenges in securing her a new home. Like many in Texas, Millie faced the risk of abandonment, poverty, starvation, sickness, or euthanasia without suitable homes. Her foster, struggling to ensure their safety, could no longer keep Millie or her siblings, leading to their transfer to our rescue in search of their forever homes. Millie is up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and comes with a health certificate. This playful, smart, and laid-back pup is the perfect overall family companion, expected to reach about 50-60 pounds. Granby is a handsome 8-year-old Foxhound/Beagle mix. He has had a lot of change in his life and is seeking new accommodations. First, his human died and then his best buddy who was a cat died. He finds himself a little out of sorts with folks who are keeping him safe but not dog people. He is house trained and walks well on leash. He is tentative about strangers coming to the house and needs to work on proper introductions or put in another room or crate if guests are over. Granby has 5 personal trainer sessions with a trainer who knows him that will transfer to his adopter (Falls Church, VA area, willing to travel in DMV area). His ideal home is a quiet one without children and lots of people coming and going. We are seeking an adopter who has Fox Hound or dog experience who knows how to show leadership to a pup. He weighs 70 pounds and is full grown. Adoption fee is waived, but approval process is not. Meet and greets are by appointment only with approved applicants. This sweet, girl is Glady! She was found alone in the mountains and was in bad shape; but after some TLC, she is a healthy and happy girl! She appears to be a Black and Tan Virginia Foxhound. Unlike most hounds, she rarely barks! Honest! She’s good on a leash, in the yard, in the bath, at the vet, in the car, in the crate, and in her foster mom’s bed! She doesn’t dig, jump up, or chew things. She gets along great with dogs and all people; but, being a hunting breed, she’s not good with cats or bunnies. She’s loving and gentle, and plays like a goofball! We are working on house training; but, if taken out regularly, she does not go in the house. She would love a fenced yard to explore safely.
