This sweet girl was found wandering the streets of Lancaster, TX, clearly having recently been a mama. Now, she's looking for a warm and loving family to call her own. Rosemary's Wonderful Qualities: Sweet & Cuddly: Rosemary is a true sweetheart! She absolutely adores cuddles and believes she's a 60lb lap dog. Prepare for endless snuggles and unwavering devotion! House Trained & Polite: This smart girl is fully house-trained and has had no accidents. When you grab her collar or leash, she knows it's time for a walk and heads straight for the door! Dog-Friendly: Rosemary gets along wonderfully with other dogs, once she's had time to acclimate. She loves to play and romp with her furry friends. Bird-Safe (So Far!): She's shown no interest in pet birds, making her a potentially great addition to homes with feathered companions. Food Motivated: Rosemary is eager to please and responds well to positive reinforcement training. Her love for treats makes training a breeze! Meet Benny! He is a 2yr old neutered male American Foxhound/Anatolian Shepherd with possibly a bit of St. Bernard thrown in the mix and weighs 57lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 12/13 as a stray. Benny is an amazing pup! I feel he did have a loving home at one time but has not been reclaimed. His fur is clean and soft. He is calm, gentle and loving. He enjoys being petted, loved on, and didn`t mind me giving him hugs or kisses. He even gave me a kiss back. He walks very well on a leash and takes treats gently. He has an interest in toys but wasn`t able to find one he wanted to play with. He didn`t show any interest in the other dogs barking at him, yet we do ask if there is another dog in the home, please be sure to ask the shelter for a dog test. He would make a fantastic family companion! Benny deserves to have a secured yard he can investigate and play in but then come back inside and enjoy spending time with each family member. He is a true gem! Come meet him!

AIDEN's owner brought him home as a puppy and kept him on a chain his whole life. We were able to bring him into our group a few months ago. Since then he has blossomed! He cannot believe he can run and play to his heart's content. He was a little afraid of toys at first, but now he LOVES to play fetch. He is kennel trained and is very happy in his big, 54" kennel with his own window to look out of. We are introducing him to other dogs now and he is learning how to play and be a dog. Although Aiden's major breed is a Plott Hound (a large dog), Aiden is 45 pounds and full grown. He has several other hound breeds in him as well. Molly is ~40-45 lbs and is about a year and a half old.. She loves to play which makes sense based on her young age. She does not damage things (furniture, doors, etc.); instead, she likes to play with her toys. She is very loving and always ready to give hugs and kisses. She enjoys being outside and indoors. She has a good appetite (is fed AM and PM). Any visitor has received a warm welcome from Molly. I’ve seen her play tag and fetch outdoors with younger friends who have visited - maybe a younger family may be a better fit for her. She is well trained to go outside to relieve herself and uses a dog door like a pro. She is very smart and will sit in the den when her meals are being created. Her tail has a fun curl to it.
