Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 33 lbs  Age: 5 months as of 10/15       The Rosie puppies—Rosie, Roseann and Rosemary— are adorable, friendly and sweet puppies who were left at the end of the Wags driveway in a cardboard box along with a mama cat and her kittens. Sadly in Mississippi this is all too common.       But despite their sad beginning  the Rosies are happy and thriving. They are mixes, but appear to have some English foxhound, and perhaps black mouth cur in them, just perfect for a medium size family dog. They couldn’t be sweeter and are very mellow. They are full of kisses and wiggles and love to romp and play and then snuggle together for a puppy nap.    The  Rosie puppies have had vaccinations, but will be spayed when they are older. Wags will pay for the procedure at one of the clinics that we use in the northeast or reimburse adopters what we pay if they choose to use their own vet. The puppies are doing well house training, but they need a refresher when they adjust to a new home. We are adopting them individuals , while they do adore each other they will adjust apart  in a loving home.        Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. For more information on adopting any of the Rosies please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com    November 8, 2024, 7:52 am

Story
PA Kennel License #5254Wags RescueSouthampton Pa 18966 9/12/24 Bubba Wags. Bubba is a 10 year old Foxhound. 80 lbs. He is treat motivated and eager to learn. He knows basic commands. Bubba would do best in a home without children / children visiting. He will need to be your one and only dog as he has trouble making doggie friends in the past (However he is best friends w Bryson Society so if you are looking for 2 playful dogs they can go together as a bonded pair). He likes walks but is not a good candidate for the dog park due to his distrust of other dogs. He is loyal and loving once he gets to know you. He is crate trained and housebroken in his current foster home. Needs a strong handler / experienced dog owner. ** No kids, no other dogs, no cats/ no other pets. Please let us know if you have any questions about Bubba. He is sweet, loyal and well mannered. Please visit our website www.wagsrescue.org to learn more about this amazing dog and Wags Rescue.

Story
I ain't nothin' but a hound dog and you can find me howlin' all the time hoping for my forever home! I'm an outdoor enthusiast with a nose for adventure. If you're someone who loves to soak up the sun and breathe in the fresh air, then I'm your paw-fect companion for outdoor escapades. While I may enjoy the occasional afternoon nap under the shade of a tree, nothing gets my tail wagging quite like the promise of a nose-down walk, where I can immerse myself in the intricate world of scent work. I may seem a tad aloof at first, but offer me a tasty treat, and watch as our bond blossoms like a flower in spring. With a repertoire of tricks like sit, paw, and down, I'm trained and ready to go!Post Adoption Training Scholarship (PATS)At SAVE, we understand that the current economy presents challenges, and this impacts dog adoption rates. To ease the financial burden on adopters and help our adoptable dogs find their forever homes, we are excited to introduce the Post Adoption Training Scholarship (PATS) program. This initiative funds the first five training sessions with a qualified trainer for select medium and large breed dogs, identified in their adoption bios. For more information, please call the shelter director (Jack Griffin) and ask about the PATS program.Complete the online adoption application on our website. The shelter is open by appointment for approved adopters. We have appointments available daily except Mondays. We look forward to helping you find your furry best friend! Story
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!   Liberty is an absolutely stunning 2-3 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound who is a solid 60lbs. She is so sweet and loves to snuggle with her people and dog friends when it’s time to relax.  Like many hounds she is curious and likes to explore and police for small critters so a 6ft fence is a must along with a cat-free home.   Liberty loves everyone but her play style is better suited for older or sturdier kids. She can be protective of treasured toys (mostly bones or ones that squeak) and is best fed separately, but truly adores other dogs and seems to enjoy being a member of the pack. She might be best paired with a more tolerant canine companion, but does take cues very well when she’s playing too rough for their liking. Liberty would benefit from continued training to modify her protective behavior and work on basic commands.    Liberty loves walks and to explore new places and new smells.  She walks well on a leash but is still mastering a loose leash.  She is not a lover of the crate but will tolerate it for a few hours.  She sleeps on a dog bed in her foster’s  bedroom and does great there overnight.  This hound girl can get mischievous when bored and will look for things to steal so leaving her unattended and uncrated during the day would not be an option right now. Her forever family should have someone who works from home or is only gone a few hours a day so she can be the happiest and best girl.    This special lady deserves a home of her own after being stuck and overlooked in an overcrowded shelter for months.  She has the sweetest face and soulful eyes along with a charming and silly personality. You can’t help but fall in love with her. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143   If Liberty sounds like a great addition to your family, email us at almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com.   (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 27, 2024, 11:16 am
