Story
(DOB 03/13/2019) Jameson is heartworm positive and our rescue is treating him. He is available for adoption within a 1 hour radius of Wake Forest, NC at this time. Jameson, the irresistibly charming American Foxhound with a heart bursting with love and an infectious zest for life! This playful, fun-loving boy lives for adventure whether it's a thrilling game of fetch, a spirited romp with his doggy pals, going for a joy ride, or simply soaking up the sun's rays while exploring the great outdoors. This dude is definitely gonna want a 6ft solid panel/narrow slatted fence to live his best life. Another playful pup in the home is a great bonus but not a deal breaker if his family is ready to keep him entertained. Jameson’s heart is as big as his energy, and he’s especially wonderful with kids who can keep up with his playful spirit. But don’t let his fun-loving nature fool you, this guy also loves his downtime! When it’s nap time, Jameson enjoys peaceful slumbers, and he’ll appreciate his rest without sudden interruptions. He's of the "let sleeping dogs lie" kinda of a montra so unless your ready for a little crabby awakening and him "telling" you he was in the middle of his best dream ever, just let him sleep soundly and give him the space to recharge. When he has completed his session of zonked-out-ness, he’ll be back to his affectionate, tail-wagging self in no time! Belly rubs and cuddle sessions are Jameson’s love language – he’s a pro at turning snuggles into pure joy. If you're searching for a loyal companion who'll shower you with unconditional love and bring endless smiles to your home, Jameson is the perfect fit. He’s ready to fill your life with laughter, play, and, of course, plenty of tail wags. This sweet boy can’t wait to find his forever family – could it be you? Potty trained, crate trained and learning to walk nicely on a leash are all things cute Jameson is a leg (or 4 legs) up on; great bonus if you want to skip some of that crazy puppy-puppy time! He is good in his crate but also enjoys resting with you on the sofa. This dude can be spry and can door dash with the best of them, so keep those doors and gates securely closed/lock for safety. Like most hounds, Jameson has a nose that works OT! He is an expert and sniffing out the goodies and the kitchen is a place that he can definitely find some of the best smells. Love to cook? Well, Jameson would have no problem at all "helping" you. Be watchful because he can find a morsal on the counter like nobody's biz! Up, grab, go and all of sudden...it's gone. There will be an empty counter, a full belly, and a big smile from Jameson, but he will never confess!!! Get this boy on your gotta meet list! You won't be disappointed! As part of Jameson’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Jameson, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2259593##

Story
(DOB 01/09/2023) Huck is heartworm positive and our rescue will provide the medical treatment. For that reason, he is adoptable within 1 hour radius of Wake Forest, NC during that time. Huck, the hound with a heart of gold and the zoomies to match is passed the puppy stage but definitely a young and playful boy; he is a professional toy-chaser and squeaky-stuffed-animal enthusiast. Whether it’s racing around the yard or showing off his super-speed zooming skills, he has the ability to melt hearts with his sweet, goofy smile and cheery personality. This guy is definitely gonna want a yard with a fence, and it should be 6 ft to keep him safe. He loves being outside and being able to goof off to his hearts content! Another playful, furry sibling is also on top of his list.  Huck is a little shy in new situations, but he’s always up for making new friends, especially if there’s a furry buddy around to show him the ropes. He’s friendly with dogs of all sizes and even gets along with cats – truly, he’s a lover, not a fighter! He hasn't had an opportunity to meet kids yet. Since he is on the shy side, older kids and a home that is less wild and crazy is likely best. He’s already house and crate trained, so he’s ready to settle into his new home with ease. He is a huge fan of car rides and is ready to be your co-pilot! Huck is all hound when it comes to following his nose on an epic snack hunt, he is alwasy on the lookout for snacks or treats. His hound powers include ultra-sniffing which can get the better of him when there are yummy, tasty, delicious things on the counter so be on the look out.  If you're looking for a playful, affectionate companion who’ll keep you laughing, snuggling, and running (in circles), Huck’s your guy. He just needs a little patience, time for additional leash training, and a lot of love to build his confidence and show you his best hound dog self. So, what are you waiting for? Huck’s ready to find his forever home – and he’s bringing the squeaky toys, huge smile, and big heart! As part of Huck’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Huck, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2289256##

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
When I first picked up Dreamy, she was in terrible shape, emaciated with her hair thin and brittle. Even so, all she wanted was attention. With proper nutrition and a lot of love, she is now a happy, healthy, beautiful girl. She loves everyone she meets and wants nothing but to be close to you and rubbed. She loves her crate and will go in it on her own to sleep when she is tired. She is totally house trained and does her business outside. She has lots of energy and would love an active person to match her energy level. She would make someone a great jogging companion. She loves to go on walks but is a strong girl and will pull in the beginning, however, she settles down the longer she walks. She loves to play with the other large dog in my home and they get along great. She is so energetic I must watch to keep her from tiring him out and overwhelming him. Dreamy will make someone a great and loving pet. Please consider giving her a loving home.

Story
Max, Maxie, or Max Pig as I like to call him is the sweetest boy that would make a great addition to any family. He is about 30#, neutered, HW-, potty trained, and crate trained. He would do well in an apartment (he’s very quiet!) as he loves going on walks or in a home. He currently has foster siblings that he enjoys playing chase and keep away with. His favorite thing to do is to perch up on the couch so he can watch everything and snuggle. He is very loving and enjoys pets and belly rubs. He is absolutely adorable and extremely sweet and loving. Although he is estimated to be 6 years old he acts and plays like he’s much younger. He very much knows he was saved and will cuddle up on you for a hug or kiss. Please consider welcoming Max into your home. He has been the easiest foster we’ve ever had and is so sweet!  Apply for him at apply.neshamarescue.org
