Story
Shelby marches to the beat of her own drum or rather the band of her people. She LOVES her humans. When we say "loves", we mean hopelessly devoted and wants to be wherever you are. She almost addicted to her people. Her foster mom is working with her, so she understands that Shelby doesn't have to be with her constantly. This girl does enjoy being with another dog. However, she prefers males and can be a bit bossy with them. Her doggie brother doesn't mind being her emotional support boyfriend while letting her be in charge too. Shelby can NOT be with cats. She is true to her hound nature in that she likes to chase them. The girl has some vocals too but in a true lovable hound way. Shelby's perfect home would be one where she is with her people (almost at all times), has a brother to pal around with and doesn't have to worry about kids or cats. She is a great older gal who is ready for a comfy couch, her routine, her people, and all that a life of rural luxury has to offer.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. NOTE: Pumpkin is a courtesy listed dog. She is not a part of Best Friend Pet Adoption. We are helping to find a new home for her and hope you will consider adopting her. You must contact her owner directly. Please contact Ruth at  rstprcac@yahoo.com  if you are interested in Pumpkin.  Meet Pumpkin! A beautiful 35 lb Foxhound who is 4-5 years old spayed female. She is not crated but can be allowed to free roam if the room is puppy proofed.  She is not destructive to furniture, etc. and will usually keep herself occupied with chew items.  She will ride in the car but won’t jump in by herself. She is housebroken and walks well with her harness and loves to sniff. Pumpkin has never met an adult, child or other dog she didn’t love. She is very friendly.  She has not been cat tested so we are not sure how she will do living with a cat.   As she is a foxhound, she is a bit vocal at times when she has something to say. She does howl on occasion so would probably not be suitable for apartment living. A nice secure fence or enclosure outside would be nice for her sun bathing and relaxing. She has moderate energy level. She loves to play with her toys and can entertain herself. Pumpkin can be left home alone but probably not for 8-10 hours. She could be an only dog if she has enough daily enrichment but would probably prefer a playmate. She is more submissive than dominant.  She is very sweet, extremely smart and very food motivated. She loves to cuddle and sleep with you. She has had a lot of obedience training and picks up commands rather quickly. Pumpkin would be wonderful for scent training too as she has already had the basics.     Please consider giving Pumpkin her loving forever home.  Contact her owner at rstprcac@yahoo.com .    Pumpkin is a courtesy listed dog.  This means that she is not a part of or associated with Best Friend Pet Adoption (BFPA). The bio information listed for her was provided by her owner and not generated or verified by BFPA. Adoption arrangements will be a private arrangement between you and the owner.  As with any dog adoption, BFPA encourages potential adopters to gain as much information as possible before adopting. This includes temperament testing and verification of vet records to ensure the dog is in good health, UTD on vaccinations and has been sterilized.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 23, 2024, 12:07 pm

Story
Anyone who has met Giles will tell you he is something special. They cannot quite put their finger on it, but his eyes speak and his soul is gentle.Giles is one of the sweetest pups you will ever meet. He is special in every way including medically. Giles was the runt but was never the under dog. Giles is the puppy that would know when a person or a dog was down and could be found curling up with them in their times of need. Any new dog that came in, Giles was sure to make them feel welcomed. He adores dogs and people, he loves affection and loves to romp and play outside. He loves to walk the beach or hike a trail. Giles does have a heart condition that is controlled with daily medicine. As of now the vet says he is happy and healthy and adoptable. Giles will receive one more echo cardiogram in the winter to ensure his medicine dose is still correct and the rescue will cover that cost. We know there is a place out there as special as Giles who will make him feel loved and welcome as he does to everyone he meets. Please place an application at ittakesavillagerescue.com He is up to date on vaccines, prevention, neutered and chipped! All our dogs/cats are vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, on preventions, and spayed/neutered if old enough. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hi there! I’m Addison, but you can call me Addie (or “Good Girl,” which I respond to very well). I’m a stunning 2-year-old Foxhound mix—yes, I’m fully aware I look like a supermodel—and I’ve got a personality to match my looks. I’m incredibly dog-friendly, so if you have another dog at home, prepare for some synchronized zoomies and probably an unbreakable friendship. I’m fully house-trained, so you won’t catch me making any rookie mistakes indoors. Honestly, I’m kind of a catch. Loyal? Check. Gorgeous? Double-check. Great with kids? Well… yes, as long as they’re the slightly older, respectful kind who won’t be tugging on my ears every five seconds. I’m a fan of kids who understand that sometimes a girl just wants to chill and doesn’t need an audience while napping. I’m on the lookout for a forever family who appreciates my refined taste in chew toys, my excellent snuggling skills, and my sense of humor. Let’s face it—I’m adorable, I’m trained, and I’m ready to be the loyal, fun-loving sidekick you never knew you needed.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 13, 2024, 8:19 pm
