Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 33 lbs  Age: 5 months as of 10/15       The Rosie puppies—Rosie, Roseann and Rosemary— are adorable, friendly and sweet puppies who were left at the end of the Wags driveway in a cardboard box along with a mama cat and her kittens. Sadly in Mississippi this is all too common.       But despite their sad beginning  the Rosies are happy and thriving. They are mixes, but appear to have some English foxhound, and perhaps black mouth cur in them, just perfect for a medium size family dog. They couldn’t be sweeter and are very mellow. They are full of kisses and wiggles and love to romp and play and then snuggle together for a puppy nap.    The  Rosie puppies have had vaccinations, but will be spayed when they are older. Wags will pay for the procedure at one of the clinics that we use in the northeast or reimburse adopters what we pay if they choose to use their own vet. The puppies are doing well house training, but they need a refresher when they adjust to a new home. We are adopting them individuals , while they do adore each other they will adjust apart  in a loving home.        Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. For more information on adopting any of the Rosies please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com    November 8, 2024, 7:52 am

Story
Mason sure hopes he will be home for the holidays—maybe he could come home with you? Meet Mason, the precious Foxhound mix who is ready to embrace true happiness in life. Mason is 5 years old and weighs 52 pounds. He was rescued from Barnwell, South Carolina, but he’s ready to spend the rest of forever wherever you are! Mason is a very friendly and outgoing guy who adores being around others. His motto is “age is just a number,” because this sweet boy still loves to play and run. He’d adore a backyard where he can get the zoomies and maybe have some friends over for playtime. He’d love daily walks around the neighborhood where he can chat with neighbors and expend his energy. Mason would be amazing with other pets and kids. He’d love to walk his human siblings to the bus stop or maybe ride along for school pickup. Mason is ready to join a loving family who will cherish him and give him all the love and happiness he deserves! He hopes that’s you, and you come meet him soon! Mason is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. Given the conditions Mason originated from, upon rescue, he tested positive for Heartworm disease. Thanks to Home for Good Dog Rescue, Mason has completed his Heartworm treatment. *Heartworm disease is a serious and if left untreated, fatal disease. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected animals, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body. Mosquitoes are carriers of heartworms and have the ability to infect dogs all year round, especially in the Southeastern portion of the United States and during the summer months.* **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. All adoption applications must be completed on www.hfgdr.org** HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life! In order to apply for adoption and set up an individual meet and greet with one of our dogs, please visit us at www.hfgdr.org. Find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/HomeForGoodDogRescue.
