I'm Bloom, a lovable foxhound with a heart full of joy and a tail that never stops wagging. House Trained and Low Maintenance: I'm potty trained and can hang out in the house without needing a crate. I'm a good girl and just love to relax on the couch or curl up next to you for some Netflix time. Toys and games are fun, especially a good game of tug! Playful Explorer: I adore running around in fenced-in areas where I can sniff and explore to my heart's content. It's pure joy to see me running free! Great with Kids and Dogs: I'm good with kids and used to having little ones around. I get along best with other dogs smaller than me.. I'm currently best friends with a Saint Bernard, but I can be selective with larger dogs. I can also get a bit jealous when other dogs are playing, so I'd be happiest with one other dog or as the only pup in the home. Feline Friendly: I've done well with dog-savvy cats but would need to avoid homes with cats that aren't used to dogs. Unique Reactions: I'm a very expressive girl and react to new people, other dogs, and passing cars with my enthusiastic hound bark. When going on walks I will pull on the leash when something catches my attention, so I'll thrive in a home with a strong handler and a tall (6ft) privacy fence or private land where I can feel secure and happy. Special Support: I'm on medication, which helps me stay calm and relaxed. I'll need a family who's comfortable with giving this medication (I love treats so they are a great hiding place for pills).

Sydney is an American Foxhound who was left behind by her owners who had owned her from a pup. She was born mid-May 2016 and has a lot of energy and plenty to say. She is a sweet lady, but doesn't care for other female dogs. Sydney would really love a home with a big yard to run and smell everything. She might do ok with another dog if he's a boy and she has been fine with cats and kids. If Sydney seems like your kinda gal - come and meet her - she will make you smile! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only.
