Story
Generally: Benji is a beautiful dog. He looks like a full American Foxhound, but it's anybody's guess since he is a rescue. He is very sweet and plays well with other dogs at the park. He loves to run and his speed belies his age (about eight years). It's fun to watch the two-year-olds try to keep up! If allowed he will run, so fenced yards and play areas are a must. History: I got him from a VERY loving family that rescued him pre-COVID from a shelter in southern Virginia. They now have a much larger family, and felt that Benji was not getting the love and attention he deserved. I got him in March at their home, so he has not been in a shelter for some years. Unfortunately, he has food issues. He has become aggressive with my small dog, lunging at her when she is eating. There was one food-related incident, shortly after adoption, where he bit me and my housemate. That was in late April and has never happened again.

Story
Inca is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS ABOUT ME: There is nothing Inca loves more than humans and thrives on human connection - she will greet everyone with her wagging tail and endearing looks. A true social butterfly, Inca is a favorite during walks, where she gladly accepts all the pets and praises showered upon her. She loves to spend her days going on long walks in the park, playing tug-of-war, looking out the window, and snoozing at home. She is an independent girl and will do well alone - some quality time outdoors with her people is all she needs to keep her happy. While Inca is generally great on her walks, she is learning to 'look at me' to help with her fear of big trucks. She has fairly good recall (though sometimes she cannot resist reaching the nearest human for pets) and is starting to get comfortable with being off leash outside so she can do what she loves the most - run free and play tag with her human in the park. Inca has been known to do fairly well in a crate in the past, but she is the best-behaved girl when left on her own, and will easily relax in her favorite spots at home. Though she loves to say hello and play with most dogs she meets, she is still learning to share and can get easily overwhelmed, and may be best suited as the only dog at home. Inca has spent her time in different homes, but she is a resilient girl - she is looking for a patient, forever home with people who can understand her sensitivities and give her the comfort she is craving for. ATTRIBUTES: Inca should not be placed in a home with children, but does well with children outside of the home. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. We strive to provide accurate information on all of our animals however, we are unable to guarantee an animal's breed, size, health, behavior, temperament, or any other conditions. Our adoption fees are not inclusive of all vetting / medical care, food, supplies and/or training costs. Since we rely on donations to compensate for those deficits we are unable to reduce or refund this fee. TO ADOPT OR FOSTER: Please apply on our website at www.lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org or email info@lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org if you have questions! TO DONATE: Please consider making a donation on our website at www.lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org so that Laila's Legacy can continue to provide lifesaving medical treatment and training.

Story
Hi there! My name is Miss Dolly (you can spot me in my light pink collar), and I’m a one-year-old American Foxhound with a heart full of love and a whole lot of energy! I get along great with other dogs, and I’m always chasing my foster siblings around—so you can tell I’m a little hard to capture in photos, haha!I absolutely love kids and would thrive in a family where I can be everyone’s best friend. If you reach out to pet me, I’ll flip right over for belly rubs—I’m all about those belly scratches! I’m super goofy and extra sweet, always up for fun and affection. With my playful personality, I’d do best in a home with doggy siblings to keep me entertained. I promise I’ll bring lots of joy, laughter, and tail wags to your home! Could I be the perfect addition to your family? ***DOLLY IS FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport.
