Personality: adaptable, affectionate, easygoing, good running partner, adventurous, goofy/funny, mischievous, playful, energetic, snuggler, rambunctious, and smart.
Mabel makes it impossible not to have a smile on your face when you're together. She'll greet you every morning with tail wags and kisses, and her favorite thing is a rousing game of tug or chase, followed by a belly rub or a snuggle in the nearest available lap.
Next on Mabel's list of fun activities is taking long nose-to-the-ground walks, and she's wonderful in the car if you want to take her on an adventure farther from home (she makes a fantastic hiking partner and she won't even complain about a bath after!).
Mabel's foster says she is great at picking up cues from other animals — she respects boundaries set by dogs and cats alike, and even knows how to mimic the preferred play style of the resident dog in her foster home. She’s also a great communicator and will make her wants very clear!
A very food-motivated girl, Mabel has already learned words like "sit, "lay down, "potty, and "come." She seems to have figured out housetraining and is adjusting well to her crate. She’s generally comfortable with adults and older kids and is working on her confidence on busy city streets.

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
