Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 33 lbs  Age: 5 months as of 10/15   The Rosie puppies—Rosie, Roseann and Rosemary— are adorable, friendly and sweet puppies who were left at the end of the Wags driveway in a cardboard box along with a mama cat and her kittens. Sadly in Mississippi this is all too common.   But despite their sad beginning  the Rosies are happy and thriving. They are mixes, but appear to have some English foxhound, and perhaps black mouth cur in them, just perfect for a family dog. They couldn’t be sweeter and are very mellow. They are full of kisses and wiggles and love to romp and play and then snuggle together for a puppy nap.  The Rosie puppies have had vaccinations, but will be spayed when they are older. Wags will pay for the procedure at one of the clinics that we use in the northeast or reimburse adopters what we pay if they choose to use their own vet. The puppies are doing well house training, but they need a refresher when they adjust to a new home. We are adopting them individuall—, while they do adore each other they will adjust in a loving home        Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. Story
This handsome boy is Bandit and he is one of our HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS dogs! If you adopt Bandit before January 1, the adoption fee will be half-price! Bandit is 4-years-old and weighs 60 lb. We think he is a foxhound mix. Bandit is a very sweet dog who loves any kind of attention. His goofy ears are sure to catch anybody's attention. Bandit loves to put his paws up on your lap so that he can give your face kisses. He's a big dog that does not quite know his size but he's food motivated and ready to learn. He has already learned so much during his time at DAWS. Bandit is a people's dog and immediately loves anybody he meets. He would like to be in a home where he isn't alone for long hours. Although Bandit is an active boy who does like to play, he's just happy to be doing anything as long as it's with people. He likes meeting other dogs and playing with them, but he may be jealous of another dog in the home. Bandit would do best with teens and up. He would be a great hiking buddy and will make a wonderful companion for the right person. Bandit is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and healthy. If you would like to meet/adopt Bandit, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms. Email daws@daws.org if you need assistance or have any questions. Here is a video to enjoy of Bandit: https://youtu.be/E-tTI5bZfl0?si=Y5ur-5q0nj0Inc0C

Story
Hi! I’m Red! I want to make your day every morning with my handsome looks and infectious smile. I am a Fox Red Lab mix and I am about 18-24 months old. Red Labs are a variation of the Yellow Lab and I am a real looker, if I do say so myself!! I LOVE people of all ages and all sizes. In fact, I love my people so much, I would like a home where someone is home most of the time. If you have the time to give me exercise and love, I could become your perfect companion! Red came to our rescue when his owner was jailed and the sister was no longer able to take care of Red. Red has lived with both dogs and cats in his former home and in our vet's boarding area, Red is amicable with all of the other dogs. His kennel is toward the back of the facility and when he is let out for his potty and exercise time, Red goes to all of the other dogs' kennels and greets each one with a happy tail wag. Red is considered the "poet" within our group of dogs - always looking out and gazing, deep in thought, as he wishes for his forever home where he will be showered with attention and love. Heather, our photographer, remarks that Red is the nicest dog ever! She shares, "He has great manners. He doesn’t bark or get impatient when he sees me tending to the other pups; he wags his tail and wiggles but doesn’t bark or paw at the gate. I have yet to see him eat a treat. It’s like he has a biscuit and bone store in his run! He seemed a little timid at the outset but has warmed up and is just lovely. He likes to run around and would love to be with someone or other dogs to play with. "Red loves being outside rolling in the grass, or maybe even some snow! Red is a wonderful dog and is just waiting for his forever family to find him! He is housebroken and loves to go for walks. He is very easy-going and would even be a nice match for a first-time dog owner. Red weighs about 70 lbs and is a handsome, hunky fellow who is a sucker for attention and belly rubs. Red is heartworm-negative, has been neutered, brought up-to-date on vaccinations, and is microchipped. He received a Proheart 6 injection for heartworm prevention so he will not need any additional HW preventative for 6 months. He will come north in mid-November to be directly adopted. If you are approved to adopt through SGRR, please contact Cheryl to be considered to adopt this sweet, wonderful boy. If not yet approved, please fill out an application to be considered. Oh, before you run off to contact Cheryl or submit an application, be sure to watch Red's video!! Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to take on whatever comes with the dog. It is up to YOU to continue the rehabilitation we have begun. This is what it means to rescue. If you would like to be part of Red's rescue story and are already approved to adopt through SGRR, please contact Cheryl Kewley to be considered to adopt Red. If not yet approved for adoption, please visit our website to lean more and to submit an online application. Click here to visit our website. Please contact us with any questions regarding your application status. PLEASE APPLY by submitting an application via this online link: Click for Adoption Application About Our Rescue Before being approved to adopt, all potential adopters need to complete our online application and participate in our pre-adoption review process. The process includes the completion of an online application, a reference from the applicants' vet, a phone interview, and a visit to the applicants' home. The application process helps us determine what type of Golden would be best suited for the applicants' life style. In some cases, the specific dog you are interested in may have found a home before this process is complete or further assessment may find that this dog is not the right match for your family. We are regularly getting new Goldens in need of a home, so we encourage you to apply and get approved so that when the right dog comes along you will be ready. The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home. ADOPTION FEES - Effective of October 1, 2024 PUREBRED DOGS Purebred puppies, up to 6 months $1000 Purebred dogs, 6 months - 6 years $800 Purebred dogs, 7 - 9 years $650 Purebred dogs, 10 years and up $550 Young dogs with special needs $650 Senior dogs with special needs $500 Pairs of Purebred Puppies, up to 6 months $1600 Bonded pair - young purebred dogs $1400 Bonded pair - senior dogs 7 years & up $1000 MIXED BREED DOGS Up to 6 months $850 6 months - 6 years $750 7 - 9 years $650 10 years and up $550 Young dogs with special needs $650 Senior dogs with special needs $500 Bonded pair - young dogs $1000 Bonded pair - senior dogs 7 years & up $900 A contract is signed the day of adoption. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring the rescue to a vet within 7 business days. The dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. If your vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog is returned and a full refund is provided. Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and we do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! The rescue retains title to the dog and can never be released or sold. Should the adopters no longer be able to keep the dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer caring for their Golden in a way we see fit. Adopters then have to agree to follow up visits as needed. Please be a ray of light for this Sunshine dog and make a tax deductible donation toward medical and other expenses. Every cent of your generosity goes directly toward the care of a Sunshine dog. Story
Molly is our 3-legged go-getter! Don’t let her 3 legs fool you, this girl is full of energy and life. She is always on the go and loves to be active. Fantastic movement. Sometimes you see her, and sometimes you don’t. Molly has been owned but unfortunately her owners can no longer care for her. As a teenager, she got out of the house and was hit by a car. The owners rushed her to the vet, but the leg was unable to saved. You’d never know she only had 3 legs the way she moves! Molly is quite short, a beagle-like body but is ‘stout’. She weighs about 38 lbs and was born December 12, 2022 (so right under 2 years old). She has 1 blue eye and 1 amber eye – don’t worry, she has great vision. When she looks at you her eyes just glisten, they’re gorgeous. Molly is house trained, and crate trained. This sweet girl LOVES other dogs and would do fantastic in a home with them as she loves to run around and play. If no other dogs in the home, we strongly suggest somebody that is more active and that enjoys going on adventures, hikes or just long walks around the neighborhood. She is a people pleaser and is very loyal. She will follow you around and be your shadow, right by your side. She knows commands and learns quickly to new ones. Molly is VERY food and treat motivated and will do anything for a yummy treat. In her previous home she was around children, and she loved them! The kids always played with her, and they tired each other out. Molly is leash trained. An ideal home for Molly would be one that is more active and wants a dog that can join in that activity. She loves everyone she meets, she’s always been a house dog, and she is all around just a super playful, super loving, and a super best friend for the perfect family/person. Molly is spayed, heart worm negative, current on vaccinations, current on preventions, microchipped and will have a health certificate giving her a clean bill of health from a veterinarian. You can apply to adopt Molly at www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Daisy, a very sweet, young girl looking for a new start. She was dumped in rural central Arkansas, and has lived outdoors ever since. Assumed from her very shy disposition, she was probably abused. Now she is slow to trust, especially with men, but is preciously sweet once you earn it. She is immediately warm with children, and likes to play with the local kids. Daisy also gets along well with other dogs, but not so much with cats--she likes to chase them. Daisy is well suited for a family with children and dogs, and a yard in a peaceful setting. She is just waiting to meet you - submit an application to arrange a visitation!

Story
Meet Sable! This gorgeous gal is a 11 month old shepherd/lab mix. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, and currently weighs 68 lbs. Sable is shy, docile and very sweet beyond her reserved exterior. Her mom and siblings were found under abandoned house and rescued by a neighbor when they were 12 weeks old. The neighbor has fostered all the dogs and only 3 puppies and mom are still looking for their forever home. She is currently being housetrained. We hope Sable catches your eye, she is just as stunning in person.

Story
Sam is a southern boy with a definite southern drawl. Once he has found a trail of something in the yard you may hear that distinctive hound bay! Sam is an American Foxhound thru and thru and follows his nose. He loves a fenced in yard where he can chase squirrels, find big sticks, and run at full tilt! Walks and hikes are his second big love-all those smells and new things! Leash required tho as he'd be happy to follow those scents wherever they go. He is social with other dogs but would like to be the only love in your life at home. What would Sam want in his new home? He'd like to be the only animal in a dog understanding older teen/adult home. He would not do well in a condo or an apartment. He uses his crate for sleeping or just for resting when he'd prefer to be quiet and not disturbed. -he can be a reserved gentleman. A fenced in yard is a must as he loves, loves being outdoors! And, he would like you to know that he is not fond of the rain or loud noises. Sam is 6 years old, 60 lbs. He is crate trained (brings his crate with him to his new home), is micro-chipped and that can easily be transferred to a new owner.
