Story
Meet Basil, a shy young pup about a year old, who is a very lovable and grateful addition to any family! Basil is very calm and gentle, and is going to grow to become a very loving dog in the right home. Although he is slow to trust humans at first, he does come around after lots of patience and reassurance! This handsome hound is great with other friendly dogs, and curious with children, making him a great candidate for homes with multiple pets and kids! Basil requires a home with at least one other friendly dog as he follows their lead and other dogs really boost his confidence the most! He also needs a fenced yard as he is still working on leash training. He gets scared easily of loud noises and quick movements, but loves to watch and learn. While the kennel is his safe space, he also does great playing around the house when people are around. Basil has never shown aggression in any way. He will occasionally bark when someone is at the front door like the Amazon truck. He will make a great alert dog! He shares toys, shows no food or treat possessiveness at all, and is calm if another dog walks into his kennel with him. Outside in the yard is when he gets most excited and playful, especially with other dogs. A patient and gentle family is a must as sweet Basil is very timid around anyone who is too stern with him. Please submit an application if you have interest in loving this sweet boy and giving him a forever home!

Story
Clark is a handsome fella! This pup traveled all the way from Oklahoma to find a new home in Colorado, could you be the one to scoop him up out of the shelter? He is such a friendly boy but can be sensitive at times, so he will appreciate a guardian that helps him gain confidence around new people! At this time, HSBV will only rehome Clark to a family without children or with children over the age of 10. Additionally, we are recommending a doggie meet-and-greet here at the shelter if entering a multi-dog home to help ensure it`s a good fit for everyone!
