Story
This handsome puppy of 5 months is a Flat-coated Retriever mix with a great personality. His name is Benjamin, and, although he weighs 25 puppy pounds, he'll grow to between 55 and 60. His foster describes him as playful, smart and outgoing while at the same time saying he's not good with small animals or young children. With his coat of black and his eyes of brown, we don't see how you could possibly not take him home! Story
Precious is currently in a foster home at a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at the bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Precious is a female, possibly Flat-Coated Retriever/Border Collie, and is around 2 1/2 years old (January 29). -She came into our shelter from a neglect/abuse situation along with multiple dogs in May 2024. -Gets along with other dogs -Can be shy at first, but she warms up pretty quickly. She comes from an unfortunate situation and may need a patient family who understands what she has gone through. -Since she can be skittish/shy at first, it would probably be best that if there are kids in the home, they are over 10 years old. -She walks well on a leash. -Can cat test her upon request. -Video of Precious: https://youtube.com/shorts/huglOC_hxxI?feature=share Precious is spayed, vaccinated (Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella), has been dewormed, a negative heartworm test (January 14th), and on monthly flea/tick/HW prevention. Health certificate and exam will be performed less than 10 days prior to transport. Adoption fee is $550 total, this is including all vetting above and $250 transport cost. If you are interested in adopting Precious, FILL THIS OUT FIRST: https://form.jotform.com/243134969050053. Then call/text 580-257-0622 or email luckypawsdoghouse@gmail.com if you'd like. If you aren't contacted within 48 hours after filling out online form, please contact us again. Story
Meet Benny Gooddog: Benny Gooddog is estimated to be a 2 year old (as of January 2025) guessed to be a retriever/collie mini mix that weighs only about 15 pounds. Benny Gooddog was surrendered by his owners due to an allergy of a human family member. He was being kept in a small crate outside for a month until they fortunately reached out to a rescue to give him a better life! Benny Gooddog is currently being fostered in the York, PA area and would love to meet his forever family. Benny Gooddog was a bit shy when he was originally dropped off in his crate, but since being in his foster home he quickly became a playful, tail-wagging, grateful pup! Benny Gooddog is becoming more affectionate and has discovered it’s so nice to jump into your lap for snuggle time! Benny Gooddog is house trained using a doggie door, but may need some patience while adjusting to a new process. We would love for Benny Gooddog to have a fenced in yard to run and play freely. Benny Gooddog is up to date on his shots and is neutered. If you are interested in giving this little one a happy home, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. Story
We don’t know how this stunning girl hasn’t caught someone’s eye yet. Beautiful Buttercup is around 1 year old and 55lbs.    Buttercup is a well-mannered house guest! She is already crate trained, potty trained and isn’t destructive. She is a friendly and social gal who seeks attention. Her  ideal home is one that is quiet but will provide her plenty of exercise time. We think Buttercup gets a little overstimulated if there is a lot going on. Buttercup LOVES to be outside! She enjoys playing in the yard and also just exploring so a fenced yard is needed. She is dog friendly and  would be fine with or without a dog friend. Buttercup enjoys walks and would be a good buddy for an active person but she does still need some work on her overly excited nature when  encountering other dogs.    Buttercup would love nothing more to find her forever home in time for the holidays so she can start settling in. This girl is so sweet and deserves her forever family. If you are interested in Buttercup please email us at almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) Story
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Liberty pup is a three month old mixed breed who weighs around 17 lb. She recently arrived from a crowded rural shelter and is quickly learning the comforts of a home. She is playful, confident, and curious and likes exploring her new surroundings inside and outside.    Liberty pup is dog friendly and is in a foster home with a few other dogs. She tends to be the one to initiate play and loves a good wrestling match. She is working on the puppy fundamentals like crate training and house training. Potential adopters should be willing to provide adequate daily exercise and continue her training and socialization as she grows into a well-balanced adult. After spending weeks in a shelter, she is overdue to find her family and start her new chapter!   Email almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com to request an application to adopt Liberty pup and see if she is a good match for your family!   Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com for more info or an application. (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) NOTE: Most puppies do best in the company of an older dog who can teach them "doggy manners," so homes with at least one other dog usually will be given preference in puppy adoptions. Story
Meet Noel, a 1 year old leggy lab mix weighing just 32lbs. She has the most adorable floppy ears, beautiful expressive brown eyes and an all black shiny and soft fur. Her sweet personality shines bright when you meet her as she comes to you for scratches and love.    Noel is nervous in new environments but leans on her humans for guidance and her tail really starts wagging when she sees dog friends around! Noel sleeps well overnight and is doing great with house and crate training. She is getting used to going on walks on the leash with some positive encouragement.   This petite gal is settling into home-life well after finding herself in an overcrowded and rural shelter. She is enjoying sharing her foster home with her new dog and people friends! She is happiest curled up on the couch with a blanket but also enjoys toys and playing with other dogs.    Noel is very silly and is sure to put a smile on your face! She is fascinated by tv and loves to cuddle with whoever sits on the couch making her a great companion on rainy days! We think she will do best with a friendly dog pal in the home to help her grain confidence. She is a smart girl who is eager to learn so she will likely do well in a variety of homes, as long as her new people are patient with her slowly acclimating and coming out of her shell!   This cutie is hoping to start 2025 off on the right paw by finding her forever family.
