Story
Sophie and Russell are two Golden Retrievers who have survived the trauma of a house fire and are now looking for a forever home where they can stay together. They are deeply bonded and rely on each other for comfort, so it's essential they be adopted as a pair. Due to their traumatic experience, they have specific needs. They require a home with no other pets, as they thrive best when they have undivided attention from their humans. A solid 6ft fence is necessary, as they are high flight risks, and it's important that their yard is secure. Inside the home, Sophie and Russell prefer to have free roam of the space, or at least within designated limits, as they like to stay close to their humans. They are calm and spend most of their day sleeping, but they will follow you around for security. Given their past, Sophie and Russell need someone who is home most of the time. When left alone, they have been known to chew on doors or molding due to anxiety, so secure caging or keeping them in a safe room when unsupervised is crucial. Additionally, their adoptive home should have secure windows with solid shutters, as they are escape artists and could attempt to flee if they feel anxious or unsafe. The ideal adopter will understand the trauma  Sophie and Russell have experienced and be prepared to manage their behaviors, such as chewing or escaping, with patience and care. Though they may present some challenges, they are incredibly loving and loyal, seeking constant companionship from their humans. If given the right environment, they will bring comfort and gratitude to their new home.
