Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Trixie is the kind of dog who makes herself right at home—whether it’s by your side, at your feet, or playing with her four-legged friends. She’s been a total gem in her Texas foster home, integrating seamlessly with the resident dogs and even the cat. Surrendered by her previous owner due to no fault of hers, Trixie’s only crime is being a little too devoted. She loves to stay close, sometimes so close you might trip if you’re not paying attention. But that devotion means she’s always ready to be your shadow—whether you’re cooking, working, or just sitting on the couch. Trixie is well-mannered and smart. She knows sit, stay, and down, and her recall is solid both indoors and in the yard. She walks beautifully on a leash, though she can’t resist a bit of pulling when she’s excited. Her favorite games are tug-of-war and romping with her canine pals, but she’s equally happy just hanging out near her humans. Trixie would be happiest in a home with another dog to play with, she prefers having other animals around for company when her humans are away. She’s treat-motivated and eager to please and trains easily! Trixie is a sweet, loyal, and playful girl who bonds quickly and deeply. She’d thrive in a home with other dogs, a patient adopter, and plenty of love to share. If you’re looking for a companion who’ll stick by your side through thick and thin, Trixie’s your girl! Trixie is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 1/11/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
