All she wants in life is a human to love her unconditionally and in return she will be the best pup you could ask for!She got along swimmingly with the 7 other dogs in her southern foster home and would do great living with another dog(s) or soaking up all the attention as the only pet. She does enjoy eating her meals separately from other pups. Oakleigh made fast-friends with the feline that lived in the home so a dog-savvy cat would also be a good fit. Though no exposure to kids yet, this sweetheart would likely do well with them. Oakleigh is comfortable in a crate and walks well on a leash. She hasn’t had an accident in the house but hasn’t been in foster care long enough to categorize her as fully house-trained just yet.Oakleigh is going to bring a whole lot of fun and love into one very lucky home! Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: Yes, dog-savvy catsGood with kids: YesCrate trained: YesHouse Trained: MostlyBanyan is a retriever mix who is as sweet as he is playful, and a tad bit shy. He thrives in environments where he can engage in outdoor activities, play with other dogs, and enjoy plenty of attention and affection.Banyan gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He is sociable and easygoing when interacting with them, enjoying playtime and companionship, but does like to eat his meals away from other pups. Always respectful, he was fine with the feline members of his foster family, though he was excited by them. While Banyan has not been around young children much, his sweet and gentle nature suggests that he would adapt well. Banyan's calm demeanor with both dogs and cats makes him a great choice for multi-pet households, but is likely to adjust smoothly to a variety of living situations.Training-wise, Banyan is crate-trained and mostly house-trained, though he's still working on his house training. He has had limited experience on a leash but willing walked into the vet office with one, showing that he's open to new experiences. As a playful boy, Banyan has bursts of energy but is also content with walks and a moderate amount of playtime. His positive disposition, social nature, and eager-to-please attitude make him an excellent candidate for further training.Don’t miss out on the chance to bring this sweet, affectionate boy into your life! Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. Story
Sawyer is a large Labrador retriever mix that loves people and warms up very quickly. Our volunteers say he seeks cuddles when in the play yard and does the doggy lean into them whenever he can. When Sawyer’s original owner lost their housing, another family took him in temporarily. He was then surrendered to a shelter in SC when his new family felt they couldn’t provide the exercise that a fun, goofy guy like Sawyer needs. He is overweight so he will really benefit from daily exercise & playtime. We suspect that Sawyer hasn’t spent much time exploring new places. He likely spent the majority of his life sheltered in a home and his own backyard. Sawyer would like a forever family that will show him new places and work on loose leash walking! When in new places, Sawyer needs guidance from a kind, confident person to show him the way and help him process the new environment full of new smells, sounds and sights! This gentleman is crate and house-trained. Other Dogs The family who had Sawyer stated that he is docile with other dogs despite his size. Cats No cats
