Story
Tipsy is a 2 year old, about 55 lb, female Flat Coat Retriever who was saved with Fuzzy from horrible living conditions and tied up 24/7. We are so happy a good samaritan helped free them and they are in a foster home! Here is what they have to say: "Fuzzy and Tipsy are a bonded pair of sweet 2 year olds. Fuzzy is a golden mix while Tipsy is listed as a flat coated retriever. They’re relatively new to their foster home, coming from a kennel after they were relinquished by their former owner. We’re told they were tied up outdoors prior to coming to GRRAND but they’ve settled in quickly to living indoors and have had zero accidents in the home. This dynamic duo has many great qualities: They are super gentle when taking treats by hand, love affection, and enjoy being next to you. Inside the house they have calm, low energy although once in a while they get a little rowdy with each other. They shadow you but quickly settle into their crash positions when they know you’re staying put in a room. When foster mom is eating her meals, they lie down - no begging! The pups calmly greet guests coming into the home. Hearing unfamiliar sounds or people talking outside may cause them to whine/bark and run to peer out the windows.  Putting paws up on the kitchen counter has occurred and a gentle push and “off” works for this behavior. Once in a while they look as if they are going to chew on something they shouldn’t (like FM’s flip flops) but are responsive to “no” or “leave it”. They have conquered their fear of shiny wood floors and we’ll soon be tackling going up and down the carpeted basement stairs. In the yard they love to sniff along the fence and intensely watch and bark at the critters they see. An occasional pastime is doggy wrestling, typically initiated by Tipsy. Zoomies usually accompany this enthusiastic play and they may jump up on you. Jumping on people may also happen if they greet newcomers outside. That gentle push and the command, “off”, works here, too. In calm moments which is most of the time, they will sit or lie down but as soon as they hear or see something interesting, they are up in a flash and fly to that area of the yard to check it out.  Leash walking appears to be new for them, however, they are not pullers and have gotten over being startled by most of big trucks/school buses that drive past us. They get overly excited when they see other dogs so remaining calm for the whole walk is a work in progress!  When foster mom leaves, they have access to an extra bedroom and the front foyer as currently crating promotes anxiety. Left with snuffle mats containing a little dry food, chew bones, and doggie spa music, they are doing well while alone. At night, they sleep in FM’s bedroom on their doggie beds or on the throw rug. They’d be thrilled to sleep on your bed if you let them!   If you’re looking for loads of doggy kisses just get down on their level and they’d be happy to comply! These two pups are darling and sure to capture your heart".  If you would like to meet this awesome pair, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##2126869##

Story
Bonnie is a super sweet, 3 year old Flat Coat Retriever (possible mix), who was left with an elderly woman who tried, and just could not care for her, so she turned to GRRAND for help. This poor girl had spent her time on a tie out tied to a cinder block, in a small crate on the porch or running loose in the country and there was worries the neighbors would hurt her or she would get hit by a car, and she is now in a foster home getting lots of TLC! This is what her foster says: "Bonnie is a sweet and loving dog looking for her forever home. She walks wonderfully on a leash and enjoys her daily strolls. On her walks, people often stop to compliment her beauty, which she graciously accepts with a wagging tail. She even crosses her paws like a lady, adding to her charm. Bonnie is also very playful and loves to play ball, so she would need a home with plenty of room to run and play. She would do well in a home with a confident dog companion who can show her the ropes and help her feel secure. Due to her playful nature, she might do best in a home without small children as she gets bouncy and twirly when she sees you, but tries to contain her excitement as best she can and she loves to do the zoomies! She thrives on human connection and affection, making her a perfect companion for someone who enjoys spending quality time with their pet. Bonnie is also crate trained, which makes her an easy addition to any household. As you can see from her pictures, she loves her doggie pool too! If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and playful friend, Bonnie could be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet her and see if she’s the one for you"!
