We show our dogs by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting Frittata, please fill out our application at kcpaws.org. Frittata's adoption fee is $350. Hi I'm Frittata! I'm 1/8th of the 'Breakfast Club' and I'm so excited to meet you! I was born around the 11th of November and a month later, my siblings and I were left in a box on PAWS doorstep. The people at PAWS say I'm likely a Flat Coated Retriever and German Shepherd mix, but we don't know who my mom and dad are, so that is a guess! I will likely be a big dog around 60-70 pounds. Since coming to PAWS I have started to learn how to be in a crate, I'm working on potty training, and I've absolutely loved getting to play with my siblings and with the PAWS team. I would love to have a home of my very own to continue learning and growing big and strong! If I sound like a good fit for you, PAWS says you can fill out an application to meet me!January 24, 2025, 6:36 pm

Story
Meet Duke! Duke came to us all the way from a kill shelter in Florida, where he was euth-listed due to his age and blindness. After making the long trip, he has settled in well at the little red barn where he is proving to be quite the sweetheart. Duke loves to walk around the barn and absolutely LOVES his toys. He carries them everywhere and will play for hours. Due to the fact that he's blind and loves toys, we think maybe a home with older kids would be best just because he does sometimes accidentally nip a hand when he's trying to grab his toy. Same with kisses, sometimes he accidentally misses but he is all sweetness with all people. Despite being blind, he gets around really well and doesn't let it stop him from being a great dog! So far, we think Duke might do best as an only-pet. The other dogs spook him and he does much better on his own. He is an older guy who would prefer a calm house where he can mosey around the rest of his days.

Story
For six years, Kona has waited. Five of those in shelters, watching as others found their forever homes while she stayed behind. Fourteen months in a foster home, loved but still waiting. Waiting for someone to finally say, She’s the one. She belongs with me. Most don’t know the pain she’s endured. She was saved from a kill shelter by a small rescue, but instead of safety, she found suffering. She didn’t get along with the other dogs there, and instead of kindness, she was met with cruelty. The woman in charge would take a cigarette lighter to her skin whenever she acted out. Imagine the fear, the confusion, the loneliness she must have felt. When we found out what was happening, we were given an ultimatum: take her, or she would be put to sleep. We didn’t hesitate. We brought her into our care, promised her she would never know pain again, and have loved her ever since. But love isn’t the same as home. Kona is sweet, snuggly, and silly. She loves stuffies, squeaky toys, and the simple joy of curling up next to you on the couch. She doesn’t beg at the table, doesn’t bark for no reason, and is completely housebroken. She loves all people—kids, too—and has the best little zoomies that will make you smile even on the hardest days. She takes daily medication for a history of seizures, but she’s been seizure-free for seven months now. What she needs is a home where she is the only pet—a place where she can finally feel safe, secure, and loved beyond measure. Right now, Kona spends most of her days alone. Her foster family adores her, but with their changing schedules, she’s left waiting yet again. And hasn’t she waited long enough? Six years. That’s how long she’s been overlooked. She doesn’t have endless years ahead of her. But she does have today, and tomorrow, and however many days she’s blessed with left to give someone her whole heart. And isn’t that worth something? Kona needs a hero. She needs you. Please, don’t let her spend another day waiting. If you can foster or adopt this beautiful soul, apply at www.alwaysandfurever.org/forms. Let’s give Kona the home she has always deserved. #KonaDeservesLove #FosterOrAdopt #ThisIsRescue #NotYourAverageShel

Story
Meet Eclipse! This sweet girl came to us from a rural shelter in Oklahoma where she was dumped after being attacked by another dog. She has healed from her physical wounds, but her heart is still healing. She is very cuddly and would love a home to show her kindness and safety. Eclipse is potty trained and prefers calm dogs or no other dogs due to her past trauma of being attacked. She would also prefer a no-cat home.
