Precious is currently in a foster home at a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at the bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Precious is a female, possibly Flat-Coated Retriever/Border Collie, and is around 2 1/2 years old (January 29). -She came into our shelter from a neglect/abuse situation along with multiple dogs in May 2024. -Gets along with other dogs -Can be shy at first, but she warms up pretty quickly. She comes from an unfortunate situation and may need a patient family who understands what she has gone through. -Since she can be skittish/shy at first, it would probably be best that if there are kids in the home, they are over 10 years old. -She walks well on a leash. -Can cat test her upon request. -Video of Precious: https://youtube.com/shorts/huglOC_hxxI?feature=share Precious is spayed, vaccinated (Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella), has been dewormed, a negative heartworm test (January 14th), and on monthly flea/tick/HW prevention. Astro here! Or, as my foster parents call me, Good Boy. I am a very affectionate, medium energy, 5yr old, 30 lb mix. While I get along just fine with other dogs, I really am more interested in people than other dogs. It takes me a bit to trust strangers but then I like to give humans lots and lots of kisses I love my fuzzy squeaky toys and playing tug. One of my favorite things to do is roll around upside down in sheets, pillows and blankets. I love getting butt and back scratches and will verbalize adorable little grunts when you hit the right spot. My humans say I am adorable. I am also a good guard dog and will bark when someone comes to the front door. I would love a home with a fenced-in back yard where I could run around and chase the squirrels. I also like chasing cats, so a cat free home is best for me! I'm working on some basics like "sit", "stay" and how to walk well on a leash. I have a little bit of anxiety (who wouldn't with my sad past?) but, with a regular schedule, I do just fine. I would love to meet you, take a walk, and kiss you as you give me scratches!
