Story
    Hi, I'm Clark Griswald. I'm a sweet boy and a Flat Coat Retriever mix.Vet estimates I'm between three and five years old, and I weigh about 50 pounds. Unfortunately, I've been on my own for a while and didn't get heartworm preventatives. So now I've got icky worms in my heart. But I'm lucky to be an Angels dog as they will give me the needed treatment to get all better. I walk well on leash,well OK. sorta. I pull sometimes and don't walk in a straight line either, but nothing too difficult.Too many things to explore! I love seeing people and my tail wags every time I see someone new. I am fully house-trained and know commands like "sit" and "shake".    I'm a great playmate and am gentle with kids. The temptation of a kitty cat is a bit too much for me though. I do need a bit of training when meeting other dogs as I get so excited! I adore my hedgehog and my rule is, “Must have toy at all times.” I’m playful, yet I sleep every night quietly dreaming of the day when I have my furever person to sleep with. I'm a loving dog with a lot of potential and with the right guidance, I'll make a wonderful companion. Are you ready to give me a chance at the happy life I deserve? NOTE:  Clark has recently started his heartworm treatment and, unfortunately,  won't be available for any meetings or to be adopted until at least mid-December. Story
We found Hazel after her first owner passed away. She was hanging out next the road. Hazel has been with us since Jan 2023 and she is so sweet with our other lab and our cat but Hazel is not fond of our pit bull. They don’t get along and all of the management steps we have taken are not helping. Hazel is very unhappy in our home though she loves us and we love her. She is great with our kids and has good house manners. Hazel would do well in a one dog household but she does get along with other dogs after much warming up. She doesn’t bother cats and she gets along well with our female lab. She mostly loves to run around outside, looking for squirrels and birds up trees. She enjoys walks and chilling and cuddling. She seems to be becoming less comfortable here each day. I want her to be happy.

Hank is a sweet 7 year old dog that needs a home where he can quietly rest and be someone’s companion. He is low maintenance but does have anxiety around thunderstorms and requires extra TLC during those times! His ideal home would be one where he is the only pet, no small children, and open areas where he can run and sunbathe to his heart‘s content.

Story
Please meet Dixie! Dixie is a female Lab mix that we rescued from the Atlanta Humane Society in April of 2024 and weighs 59 pounds. Dixie loves food and all toys that you could place in front of her. Dixie has been house-trained and responds exceptionally well to "leave it", "wait" and "free!!" We are still working on "sit", "shake" and a few others, but she responds well to the ones mentioned above, she has also been spayed and limited professional training. Unfortunately, Dixie does have a bit of fear & anxiety (separation) and will look to always be by your side. We have recently placed her on Paroxetine to help her with this condition. Our home situation is a busy one, with one other dog in the house as well. A 3 year old Shepherd mix named Scout. The two of them got along for 5 months well. As Dixie has matured the dominant traits in both (female) dogs has come forth and our situation has become untenable. Dixie will need a single dog home for this reason. Thank you!
