ABOUT OLIVE
You may be wondering why this gorgeous girl has two names. Olive was adopted from HAP a little over a year ago, when she was originally named Zoe. While she is just under 70 lbs., Olive is a very tall and long girl. Her family felt she would benefit from a home with more space for her to be comfortable. Despite coming back to the shelter, Olive is a happy-go-lucky and fun-loving pup! She adores all people, including children, and loves making new friends. She rose to fame among our volunteers for her silky soft coat and well-mannered personality. She has loved participating in our Doggy Day Out program, where our volunteers have had lots of fun adventuring with her! Here's what a few volunteers have to say about Olive:
"Best way to describe Olive is that she’s a gentle giant haha, she was so sweet & loving. She knows the commands “sit” & “paw” and was very well behaved. She was also super curious and loved sniffing around! We had such a great time walking the riverfront, I wish I was able to keep her." - Leanna
"We took miss Olive out today, such a sweet girl I’m sure she’ll get adopted soon. She knows “sit” and “lay down” although she didn’t quite understand that she couldn’t climb into the drivers seat lol. She’s cuddly, doesn’t really make much noise, and didn’t get into any food/trash in my room. Really a sweet girl!" - Abby
"Miss Olive and I had a nice morning walk at the Riverfront. She was very sociable and loved stopping for pets from everyone. She was also curious and loved sniffing her way around. She even watched the geese flying on the river! She did pull on her leash when we saw other dogs, but was fine once we passed them. Then, we stopped at home for some chill time and played in the backyard. She LOVES getting pets, is very cuddly, and loves being outside. She stuck to my side like glue and didn’t bark once." - Breanna
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
