Story
Meet Kendall & Kylie — Two Sweethearts on the Road to Recovery. Kendall and Kylie arrived at Polk County Humane Society after wandering together, clearly bonded and looking for safety. Unfortunately, both girls tested positive for heartworms—a serious but treatable condition. Thanks to our generous donors and veterinary partners, PCHS covers the full cost of their heartworm treatment. But we need adopters or fosters who can commit to the care these girls need during recovery. What Heartworm Treatment Involves: Oral medications administered at home. Veterinary visits for a series of injections. Strict activity restriction for several weeks, including crate rest or confinement to small areas indoors, leash-only potty breaks and outdoor time and no running, jumping, or rough play. This quiet recovery period is essential to ensure the heartworms are safely eliminated without complications. Are you the one who can help one or both of these girls transition from survivors to thrivers? If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2470141##

Story
Meet Amelia Rose — your future adventure partner and loyal best friend! Amelia Rose is a joyful, affectionate girl who brings sunshine wherever she goes. With her constantly wagging tail and bright, happy spirit, she has a way of making everyone she meets smile. She absolutely adores people and has an endless supply of love to give, whether it’s through cuddles on the couch or excited greetings at the door. This sweet girl is full of energy and enthusiasm for life! Amelia Rose would thrive in an active home where she can stretch her legs and join in on the fun. She’s dreaming of a family who will take her along on hikes, runs, and all kinds of outdoor adventures — she’s ready to be your ultimate companion for exploring the world. Amelia Rose is both kennel and potty trained, making her a wonderful addition to a home looking for a dog with a solid foundation. She’s currently working on her leash manners in foster care, especially learning not to pull, and she’s already making great progress with consistent guidance and positive reinforcement. She’s a smart, eager-to-please pup who will flourish with continued training, structure, and lots of love. With her upbeat personality and loyal heart, Amelia Rose has all the makings of an incredible lifelong companion. If you’re looking for a happy, loving, and adventurous dog to share your days with, Amelia Rose might just be the perfect match. Amelia Rose is a 3-year-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $400 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and spay. Amelia Rose is also tested with other dogs, children, and potty and kennel trained. She is not tested with cats. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if she might be a good fit for your home. The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals. We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!) Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed. Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525). For additional questions regarding meeting this dog please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772, or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to a high volume of inquiries, calls and voicemails regarding adoption will not be returned. Thank you for choosing adoption! If you would like more information on our organization please visit our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org.

Story
We rescued Penny about 6 years ago. She can be aggressive with other animals at first. But then turns into a sweetheart. She will not bite, just bark loudly and look mean. She loves kids and attention. She will cuddle up and ask for belly rubs. Sad to have to give her up, but I have been moving too often with my job and it is not fair for her and can’t give her the attention she deserves.

Hello, this handsome fella is Henry. He is 6 years old, a big Teddy bear and loves chasing birds. I am helping my mother find Henry a new home. She is retiring soon and will be downsizing. The listing shows as a year old because we had posted our dog Bailey here a year ago but was able to keep her. She's doing great. We just repurposed the original posting.
