Story
Akasha (A137598) is an 8-month-old lab mix who weighed over 60 lbs at intake!02/22/25 This bundle of bounce is Akasha! She was brought to the shelter because she was being too rough with the kids in her previous home. Akasha needs some help with her manners. She has been known to jump on people and counters, and she plays really rough. She was said to love every human she meets, regardless of age, but she can unintentionally hurt smaller kids or babies with her rowdiness. It may be best that her next home not havce little ones. Akasha is looking for a patient owner that may want to enroll her in a basic obedience class so she can be the best that can be! Providing her with proper mental and physical enrichment can also help calm her down. Akasha was said to love other dogs. She has never been around cats or other animals. She was said to be kennel trained and housebroken. She can be vocal and has been known to chew. Make sure she has plenty of appropriate chew toys to keep her occupied! If you are interested in meeting this happy happy girl, please give the shelter a call!March 11, 2025, 9:01 pm

Story
Blue (A124509) is a 4-year-old Lab x Pitbull mix who weighed 58.4 pounds on intake! 03/06/25 Sweet Blue is back at the shelter and looking for his perfect fit! We was described as an absolutely amazing dog but sadly did not get along with the cat in the home. Blue is looking for a cat-free home environment! Blue was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and LOVES going on car rides! He was said to do great with people of all ages and his adoptive owner felt he would really enjoy going to a home with children. Blue was also said to have gotten along splendidly with the dogs in their home. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new potential friends! If you are interested in meeting this happy boy, please let us know! 02/27/25 This handsome boy is Blue! Blue arrived at the shelter as a stray and was seen by the shelter vet for suspected blunt trauma. He was started on an appropriate treatment plan to keep him comfortable during his stray hold. Once he defaulted to the borough, courtesy of the amazing shelter fund, he was sent out for a full work-up, including bloodwork, radiographs, and dental cleaning! Now that he has received the care he needed he is looking for his new place to call home! Since he was a stray, we do not know his history with other animals or children. At the shelter, he has been very polite. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new people and animals. He also did an excellent job at keeping his kennel clean indicating that he may already be housebroken! Blue does have a history of being at large so he is looking for an owner who will be able to keep him restrained. If you are interested in meeting Blue, please let us know! March 6, 2025, 9:07 pm

Story
Zoey (A137749) is a 3-year-old Lab mix who weighed 49.8 pounds on intake! 03/11/25 This beautiful lady is Miss Zoey! Zoey was surrendered to the shelter with her pal KC and is now looking for her new home! Zoey was said to do well with dogs but has no known history around cats, pocket pets, or livestock. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with any new animal. Zoey was said to be people-friendly and has historically done well with people of all ages, including babies and children. At the shelter, we did find that Zoey is pretty head-shy and weary of collars and leashes being put around her neck. However, she never tried to nip or bite but was more so evasive. We encourage her next owner to work with a certified trainer to continue building her confidence! Zoey was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and to ride well in a car. If you are interested in meeting Zoey, please let us know! March 12, 2025, 6:52 pm
