Age: Approximately 8-10 years old Weight: 16 lbs Dog friendly: Yes, can be dog selective. He gets along with the dogs he lives with Cat friendly: No Kid friendly: Best in a home without kids Potty trained: Yes, good on a schedule Crate trained: Yes, does well in the crate when left alone Max is a great little dog, but he needs a patient owner who understands interactions must move at his own pace. He loves lap time and snuggling time on his own terms. He will excitedly greet you every time you come home from work or back from an errand. He will follow you around the house, keeping tabs on you, and just likes being around you. He will sleep at the foot of your bed through the whole night. He will ask for pets and loves the chin and chest rubs. He does not like to be surprised with pets when he's not looking at you. For example, if he is lying on the couch next to you, it would be best to let him rest in peace rather than pet him without his attention on you, or he may growl and snap. If approached in this way, Max may become a bite risk. Max allows his foster to pick him up and carry him (putting him up on the bed or into his kennel) without any issues, but you will need to gain his trust before trying this. Max wants to be safe, warm, fed and loved. Max seems to prefer men, but he has lived with women who are patient with him. He's great on walks, great with other dogs, fully potty trained, and good in his kennel. He's generally a very easy foster dog. Come meet Max and find out if he could be the perfect buddy for you!
