Story
***Luna is diabetic and will require daily insulin injections for the rest of her life. Luckily, Luna is a sweet lady who doesn't mind her daily injections and doesn't let them affect her bright outlook on life as a happy go lucky golden girl! ***Since Luna is looking for an Exceptional Owner, her adoption fee has been waived! Luna is an ~ 11 - 1/2 year old spayed female. She is current on her vaccinations and microchipped! Meet Luna! This sweet older lady is ready to find a loving and relaxing retirement home where she can soak up all the attention she deserves. Even though she is an older gal, she still has plenty of pep in her step and loves to explore her surroundings and let her curiosity lead the way. She enjoys making her daily rounds each morning before she retires to her more leisurely favorite activities such as sunbathing next to a sunny window, lounging in a cat tree or on a high shelf, and (of course) catnapping in a cozy bed to get all the beauty rest she needs. At the end of the day, she would enjoy nothing more than relaxing by her family on the couch before snoozing in bed while curled up right next to you! Luna is a sweet, social, and well-adjusted go-with-the-flow kind of kitty so she should do great in just about any household although in her older age she may appreciate a bit of a calmer and more relaxing environment. So, she should do great with respectful kids of any age as well as other calmer pets given slow and proper introductions. ***Luna has been in a loving and wonderful foster home for quite some time, and her loving foster mom has nothing but great things to say about this beautiful lady! Here are some magnificent updates from her: “Luna has been my foster cat for the past five months. When she first arrived, she was underweight and had just been diagnosed with diabetes. We spent the next couple months getting her regulated on the correct insulin dose. She is now doing well, has put on some weight, and has become my dear friend. Luna is 12 years old, so she is a low-energy cat. She takes long afternoon naps and in general is a quiet and mellow presence in the house. At times she follows me around or sits nearby. She loves to be talked to and petted, and if you stop petting her she will give you a little poke. She has a quiet purr – so you have to listen closely to hear it! Luna gets twice daily insulin shots. She gets the shots with her wet food and barely seems to notice. It’s really easy! I would forget she is diabetic if I didn’t get the twice daily reminders to give her insulin. Her appetite is good and she uses the litter box like a champ. She is a beautiful cat with a glossy black coat and the most soulful green eyes. Luna is easy to fall in love with, and at her age she deserves her forever home!” If you are interested in adopting, start by filling out an application on our website and email it to frontdesk@couleehumane.com OR you can print and drop off in person: https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal?rq=application

Story
Thanks to a generous donation from the Andy and Connie Ziemelis Charitable Fund, Egg White's adoption fee has been sponsored by the Home Sweet Home Program! Egg Whites is a 1 year old spayed female. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative! Meet Egg Whites! Egg Whites is a shy little girl who is ready to find a loving forever home with a family that understands she will need lots of time, space, and understanding as she acclimates to her new surroundings and continues to work on her love for humans. While she may be a bit of a nervous girl at first, once she is comfortable with her surroundings and the people around her, she is a typical active little kitten who lets her curiosity lead the way. She enjoys exploring her surroundings, chasing around her toys, hopping up on anything high such as a cat tree, and jumping up in the windows to check out the great outdoors. While she isn't quite fond of lots of snuggles yet, there is no doubt with lots of time and positive interactions she will become someone's best friend for life! ***WORDS FROM HER FOSTER 10/1/24*** She has grown to be such a sweet girl in the few months we've gotten to know her. I would definitely say her personality is 100% princess, as she likes to choose when it's time for pets and usually doesn't care for them if not on her terms, tho she will always enjoy pets as long as food is involved or if she's hungry. She does not like being picked up either, but that goes hand in hand with her being a sweet princess. She absolutely loves our dog Arrow and will sometimes try to play with him, and she is best friends with our cat Tipsy and they are almost always together playing or snuggling. She's very playful and loves her fluffy yellow toy mouse that she likes to fetch and then hides it around the house. In the last couple months, she has really opened up and become much more confident with us. She even climbs up behind me and will pat me on the shoulder when it's time for food. The other day she decided to cuddle up and lay down on my lap for the first time which completely melted my heart and just goes to show how far she has come, it just takes time, love, and patience.*** Egg Whites is a petite little lady who is looking for a cat savvy family that can help her work on her socialization skills. She is a very shy and unsure little lady who would prefer a calmer and quieter home as she does startle very easily. So, she is looking for a family with older and respectful children at least 10 years of age or older who understand she may prefer her independence at times when she gets stressed out. She did previously live in a home with several other cats who she relied on heavily for comfort so she is required to go to a home with another feline friend. She may do ok with other respectful pets in the home too given very slow introductions to one another as well as the home in general. If you are interested in adopting, start by filling out an application on our website and email it to frontdesk@couleehumane.com OR you can print and drop off in person: https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal?rq=application

Story
Thanks to a generous donation from the Andy and Connie Ziemelis Charitable Fund, Over Easy's adoption fee has been sponsored by the Home Sweet Home Program! Over Easy is a 1 year old neutered male. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative! **Here are some words from his foster!!!** "A shy and tentative boy, but he definitely has a curious side! He is a more independent kitty who likes to watch his people from afar. He can be persuaded to play with a wand toy once he is comfortable. He has a great time carrying around little stuffies or batting around a poof ball too! Play time and lots of treats are the way to this boy's heart. Over Easy loves to sneak from hiding spot to hiding spot while he explores his domain. When he is more relaxed, he comfortably curls up in a warm and soft kitty bed. In addition to his bed, Over Easy would love a cat tower to climb and snooze in. Over Easy loves other kitties and having a cat companion will help him adjust to his new home. He's a sweet and gentle boy that likes his personal space. The right family for him will be patient, and it will be so rewarding once they gain his trust! " Meet Over Easy! Over Easy is a shy little man who is looking for his very own forever home with a patient, understanding, and loving family to call his own. He may be a bit unsure at first and will need some time to adjust in a new home, but once he does he is a sweet, low-key, and calm kitty who doesn't ask for much other than a cozy bed and a few toys to bat around. He absolutely adores pets - especially head scratches - from his favorite people and enjoys lounging right next to them. While he isn't a fan of being pick up or being overly handled, he is a loyal kitty who will follow you around just to check out what you are up to. He does occasionally get the urge to explore his surroundings and chase around his toys but most days you will find this laid back kitty cozied up in a warm bed or next to a sunny window. Over Easy is a very shy guy who is still working on his socialization skills and while he's made a lot of progress he does still startle very easily at times. So, he is looking for a bit of a calmer and quieter home with respectful older children at least 8 years of age or older who understand he may prefer his space at times. He previously lived in a home with several other cats and currently resides in a communal living area here at the shelter with some of his feline friends who he relies on heavily for comfort. Since he is much more confident with them by his side, he is required to go to a home with another kitty companion. He may do ok with calmer and respectful dogs in the house given slow and proper introductions to one another as well as having his own 'safe' space to hang out in should he get stressed out. Story
***Thanks to a generous donation from Tika’s owners, all senior cat adoption fees are being sponsored through our Tika Senior Cat Adoption Promotion – including Chloe's! Chloe is a 12 year old spayed female. She is current on her vaccinations and microchipped! Meet Chloe! Chloe is a sweet and low-key older kitty who can’t wait to find her loving and relaxing retirement home. She adores being pampered and absolutely loves pets and snuggles with her favorite people. She is described as the purr-fect lap cat and will eat up all the attention she can get. Since she is an older kitty, she is mellow most of the time and enjoys simply lounging around in her cat bed or next to a sunny window. Don’t let her older age and mellow personality always fool you though as she can be quite the curious kitty at times and loves exploring her surroundings – and occasionally getting into things that she finds interesting. Chloe is such a sweet lady who loves everyone she meets so she should do great in a home with children of any age. She didn’t appreciate the younger feline friends in her last home but got along ok with the older and calmer cats. So, she should do ok with other low-key pets in the home given slow and proper introductions are followed and that she has her own space to call her own. If you are interested in adopting, start by filling out an application on our website and email it to frontdesk@couleehumane.com OR you can print and drop off in person: https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal?rq=application

He was a bit unsure when he first arrived at the shelter but he has since warmed up and shown us his truly lovable personality. He is a mostly mellow man but he also has a very curious side to him at times and enjoys exploring his surroundings and checking out new things that he comes across. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative! Meet Saskia! Saskia is a spunky and petite little lady who is ready for her next big adventure - finding her loving forever home! She is a confident girl who will need some time to adjust in her new home as she was quite nervous and unsure when first arriving at the shelter. After she's had some time to adjust to her surroundings, she is a typical goofy, energetic, and adventurous older kitten who is always on the go and will surely provide lots of entertainment for her new family. She enjoys exploring her surroundings, chasing around her toys, climbing up and down her cat tree, and playing with her companions. Saskia is a gorgeous girl who enjoys the company of her favorite people but she is still working on her socialization skills. So, she would do best in a home with a cat savvy family who can help her improve on her people skills and understand her cues when she gets overwhelmed. She did live with several other cats in a communal living area at the shelter of whom she did ok with as long as they matched her energetic personality and over tenacious play style. Since she does get overstimulated easily she would do best with respectful children at least 12 years of age or older.
