Story
Thanks to a generous donation from the Andy and Connie Ziemelis Charitable Fund, Egg White's adoption fee has been sponsored by the Home Sweet Home Program! Egg Whites is a 1 year old spayed female. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative! Meet Egg Whites! Egg Whites is a shy little girl who is ready to find a loving forever home with a family that understands she will need lots of time, space, and understanding as she acclimates to her new surroundings and continues to work on her love for humans. While she may be a bit of a nervous girl at first, once she is comfortable with her surroundings and the people around her, she is a typical active little kitten who lets her curiosity lead the way. She enjoys exploring her surroundings, chasing around her toys, hopping up on anything high such as a cat tree, and jumping up in the windows to check out the great outdoors. While she isn't quite fond of lots of snuggles yet, there is no doubt with lots of time and positive interactions she will become someone's best friend for life! ***WORDS FROM HER FOSTER 10/1/24*** She has grown to be such a sweet girl in the few months we've gotten to know her. I would definitely say her personality is 100% princess, as she likes to choose when it's time for pets and usually doesn't care for them if not on her terms, tho she will always enjoy pets as long as food is involved or if she's hungry. She does not like being picked up either, but that goes hand in hand with her being a sweet princess. She absolutely loves our dog Arrow and will sometimes try to play with him, and she is best friends with our cat Tipsy and they are almost always together playing or snuggling. She's very playful and loves her fluffy yellow toy mouse that she likes to fetch and then hides it around the house. In the last couple months, she has really opened up and become much more confident with us. She even climbs up behind me and will pat me on the shoulder when it's time for food. The other day she decided to cuddle up and lay down on my lap for the first time which completely melted my heart and just goes to show how far she has come, it just takes time, love, and patience.*** Egg Whites is a petite little lady who is looking for a cat savvy family that can help her work on her socialization skills. She is a very shy and unsure little lady who would prefer a calmer and quieter home as she does startle very easily. So, she is looking for a family with older and respectful children at least 10 years of age or older who understand she may prefer her independence at times when she gets stressed out. She did previously live in a home with several other cats who she relied on heavily for comfort so she is required to go to a home with another feline friend. She may do ok with other respectful pets in the home too given very slow introductions to one another as well as the home in general. Story
Thanks to a generous donation from the Andy and Connie Ziemelis Charitable Fund, Over Easy's adoption fee has been sponsored by the Home Sweet Home Program! Over Easy is a 1 year old neutered male. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative! **Here are some words from his foster!!!** "A shy and tentative boy, but he definitely has a curious side! He is a more independent kitty who likes to watch his people from afar. He can be persuaded to play with a wand toy once he is comfortable. He has a great time carrying around little stuffies or batting around a poof ball too! Play time and lots of treats are the way to this boy's heart. Over Easy loves to sneak from hiding spot to hiding spot while he explores his domain. When he is more relaxed, he comfortably curls up in a warm and soft kitty bed. In addition to his bed, Over Easy would love a cat tower to climb and snooze in. Over Easy loves other kitties and having a cat companion will help him adjust to his new home. He's a sweet and gentle boy that likes his personal space. The right family for him will be patient, and it will be so rewarding once they gain his trust! " Meet Over Easy! Over Easy is a shy little man who is looking for his very own forever home with a patient, understanding, and loving family to call his own. He may be a bit unsure at first and will need some time to adjust in a new home, but once he does he is a sweet, low-key, and calm kitty who doesn't ask for much other than a cozy bed and a few toys to bat around. He absolutely adores pets - especially head scratches - from his favorite people and enjoys lounging right next to them. While he isn't a fan of being pick up or being overly handled, he is a loyal kitty who will follow you around just to check out what you are up to. He does occasionally get the urge to explore his surroundings and chase around his toys but most days you will find this laid back kitty cozied up in a warm bed or next to a sunny window. Over Easy is a very shy guy who is still working on his socialization skills and while he's made a lot of progress he does still startle very easily at times. So, he is looking for a bit of a calmer and quieter home with respectful older children at least 8 years of age or older who understand he may prefer his space at times. He previously lived in a home with several other cats and currently resides in a communal living area here at the shelter with some of his feline friends who he relies on heavily for comfort. Since he is much more confident with them by his side, he is required to go to a home with another kitty companion. He may do ok with calmer and respectful dogs in the house given slow and proper introductions to one another as well as having his own 'safe' space to hang out in should he get stressed out. If you are interested in adopting, start by filling out an application on our website and email it to frontdesk@couleehumane.com OR you can print and drop off in person: https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal?rq=application

Story
Thanks to a generous donation from the Andy and Connie Ziemelis Charitable Fund, Hemlock’s adoption fee has been sponsored by the Home Sweet Home Program! Hemlock is a 2 year old neutered male. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped, and FeLV negative! ***Hemlock is FIV positive - please don't hesitate to ask us for more information about FIV! Meet Hemlock! Hemlock is a handsome and outgoing guy who is ready to charm his way into the arms of his loving forever family! He was a bit unsure when he first arrived at the shelter but he has since warmed up and shown us his truly lovable personality. He absolutely adores pets and attention from his favorite people and enjoys simply just hanging out right my your side. He is a mostly mellow man but he also has a very curious side to him at times and enjoys exploring his surroundings and checking out new things that he comes across. Even though Hemlock may be a bit more reserved at first in his new home, he adjusts fairly quickly and enjoys the company of pretty much everyone he meets. So, with slow and proper introductions to the home and its family members he should do great in just about any home. This includes families with respectful children of any age as well as other pets. Story
Floralia is a 8 month old spayed female. She is current on her vaccinations and microchipped! Meet Floralia! This golden-eyed gal is looking for a home that checks all her boxes: mellow, low-traffic home with a kitty friend and some fun toys! She's lived with other super active kitties and felt overrun as they were stealing all her shine, so a low-key home is where she'd show her best self off. She loves to brush up against you and just be pet in general and will reward you with a heartwarming purr. This sweetie also loves a good wet food snack and some fun wand toys and laser lights! Because she can be shy and uncertain in new environments, for the first couple of days we recommend a confined, secluded area to decompress from the big lifestyle changes she is about to endure, this will help both you and her in the long run develop a better and more positive relationship initially! Floralia has grown up in foster care with his littermates and finds so much comfort with a feline friend, so we do require another calm cat in the home so she can continue to grow up confident and be able to exhibit natural feline behaviors in a productive and healthy way. Because she tends to spook easily, she would do best in a home with children over 8 years old and lower energy dogs. Story
Kola is a ~ 4-month-old neutered male. He is current on his vaccinations and microchipped! Meet Kola, the sweet but timid tuxedo awaiting his forever home! I'm a bit shy to start but with a little time and lots of love, I'll l do amazing in a new home. I really love my foster cat siblings, we have so much fun playing! When we're all tuckered out, we snuggle up together and take a cat nap. If I'm in the right mood I'll even curl up by my human for pets. Loud noises still make me nervous, so I'd do best in a home with children at least 5 years of age or older who can respect my space and understand that I might need some alone time now and then. I really enjoy it when my chin and butt get scratched; however, the true way to my heart is Delectable or Churu treats! My foster mom gives me treats every night and it's the best part of my day! Story
Petunia is a sweet girl who loves to chat with you in squeaks. She would do best in a somewhat quiet home with a loyal owner, in order for her to really shine! Petunia is a little overwhelmed in the rescue environment, so the sooner her furever home comes the better. She was brought in by police and gave birth to a litter of kittens shortly after. Petunia has weaned her kittens and is more than ready to start HER next chapter. Cutie Pie has become a really good friend to Petunia, so we would love for them to go to a new home together. If you would like to meet Petunia, please call us at 507-895-2066, check out our website or email info@lacrescentanimalrescue.com

Story
"Hi, I'm Cutie Pie, a very fitting name! I was rescued as a young kitty, humans are quite new to me still! I am pretty shy but have a ton of potential to flourish in my forever home with a family. I will do best in a quiet home, where I can have time and space to adapt to my new environment. I'm only approximately 1 1/2 years old. I was previously adopted as an only but returned, as I found I was lonely without the cat companionship here at the shelter. As soon as I was back at the rescue, I curled up with Petunia and Lucky - and would love to go to a home with at least one of them! Petunia and I play really well together. I hope you’ll come and meet us soon!" Please call 507-895-2066 or email info@lacrescentanimalrescue.com to set up a time to meet Cutie Pie.

Story
Judd has a soft all-white coat and liked to keep to himself before, but has started coming out of his shell. He is deaf and arrived mostly feral in August 2023. He just didn't have the experience and trust of humans yet, but he really has come a long way. Judd is always really interested in kittens - he trills at them whenever they are near. He is estimated to be about six years old. With the right person and home, mixed with some patience, it could make Judd a great buddy to have around. We dream of him having all the comforts life of a housecat has to offer! Are you Judd's person(s)? He'd love to meet you. Story
Gryffinpaw is a new arrival that was very shy and scared. He was trapped outside the shelter so he may have lived outside all his life so far. Regardless of that, he has come a long way to realize pets are nice. Gryffinpaw is young, approximately only a year old - so we have hope he will come out of his shell with a loving home and patient family/person! He now enjoys strokes between the eyes and up his forehead and has been becoming more accepting of people! If you have the patience to be his new owners, let us know and set up a time to meet him. Ravenclaw is a young, active male cat in desperate search for someone to play with him. He will reward you with his devotion and affection. Ravenclaw has a lot of energy and loves playing with balls (especially ping pong/bouncing ones) and string toys! He will keep you company as he loves to chirp (talk). He does have a food allergy we haven't been able to isolate yet, so he currently is eating a hydrolyzed protein food as a special diet. It may be possible for his new home to isolate his issue and find a better fit for Ravenclaw's food. He would do best in a home with members aged 15+.
