Story
Please read Gilligan's profile before proceeding with inquiries. Also, we ask that you visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and schedule an on-site appointment (walk-in hours are also available). www.ggohinc.com Gilligan was brought to GGOH after a kind and caring woman took him in from the outdoors, concerned about the falling temperatures that were upon us. While he has been with us for quite some time, we're still hopeful that there is someone out there somewhere who understands cats like him and will give him a home to just be himself with no pressure to be something he's not. He needs a home where it is okay if he's not a lap cat, is mostly independent from humans, and is allowed to go along at his own pace. He would also do best in a home where there is at least one other cat for him to be social with. Gilligan has great potential but he will need an adopter that is understanding and patient, giving him ample time to adjust to his new surroundings. Due to his shy personality, we would recommend a home with no children. Gilligan is certainly not everyone's cup of tea but we know there is someone out there that understands and can accept him as he is. If you think you have a home/family that would be ideal for Gilligan, why not stop in and meet him - give him a chance to know what a family and a home full of love really feels like. Gilligan's DOB is 3/9/18.

Please read MaryAnn's profile before proceeding with inquiries. Also, we ask that you visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and schedule an on-site appointment (walk-in hours are also available). www.ggohinc.com MaryAnn is Feline Leukemia Positive. She is otherwise healthy, eats well, and uses her litter box faithfully. While we know that a FeLV+ cat is hard to place, we still have hope that there is someone out there willing to give her a life of comfort where she can roam freely indoors. She needs a home where it is okay if she's not a lap cat, is mostly independent from humans, and is allowed to go along at her own pace. She would also do best in a home where there is at least one other cat for her to be social with (perhaps another FeLV+ cat, or one that has been vaccinated against FeLV). MaryAnn will need an adopter that is understanding and patient, giving her ample time to adjust to her new surroundings. Due to her shy personality, we recommend a home with no children. If you think you have a home/family that would be ideal for MaryAnn, why not stop in and meet her. Every cat deserves the chance to be shown unconditional love - possibly you are the one that could give that to her MaryAnn's DOB is 3/9/2018.

Story
Venus arrived at GGOH with her litter mates after their momma arrived here at GGOH and we found her to be pregnant. Venus is one of our more challenging cats - she's shy and nervous around us humans but we know that she has it in her to be sweet and loving - it will just take time and patience. Due to her current social skills, our recommendation is that she not go to a home where there are young children - young ones would definitely not understand her. Over time, and once she is familiar with her new life and home, she may relinquish and be acceptable of being held (or may not), but we absolutely don't want her new life to start off on the wrong foot so please only inquire about her if you are okay with her personality type and can accept her for who she is. She's great with other cats and would make a wonderful companion to a perhaps lonely feline. Also of mention is that Venus is one of our FIP kitten warriors - she battled the beast and won. We can give you a more detailed picture of what her treatment was when you visit but just let it be known, she has a long worry-free life ahead of her. We don't like to dwell on this aspect of her care too much, but we also like to be up-front about it as we're not the kind of rescue that withholds or hides information from our prospective adopters. Everything is laid on the table so you can make an informed decision. Venus's DOB is 7/23/19. As we've said, Venus is one of our more challenging cats and even though she's had a few bumps in the road, we 100% believe she is worthy of love and acceptance and know her special someone is out there somewhere - could it be you? If you're interested in meeting Venus, we ask that you first visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and then, to schedule an on-site appointment. www.ggohinc.com

Story
Rita is a shy young lady who came to us from a farm where an over-population problem was imminent if help wasn't received soon. She is a curious cat, taking her time to observe new situations before approaching and investigating. She accepts pets and affection as long as you go slow; she's learning to trust and has been progressing just as we had hoped she would. Rita would be a great addition to any home as long as the new family is willing to give her time and space to acclimate at her pace. Her ideal setting, however, would be with one individual that could give her consistent attention and one where the home is somewhat quiet. She does great with other cats. Dogs are unknown as we've only observed her watching them from a comfortable distance. She loves treats - they are the key to heart! Rita really needs someone to reach out to her and let her know that she is loved and it's okay to go slow. Could that someone be you? Rita's DOB is approx. 3/24/2020. (P.S. - The photos of Rita are of her sitting in one of our internal room windows waiting for treats to be passed through to her. It's her thing. She really loves her treats!) If you'd like to meet Rita, hop over to our website @ www.ggohinc.com to review our adoption process and requirements and then schedule an appointment for a visit.

Story
Burt joined the GGOH family after we were contacted by another rescue that was working on a farm cat over-population project - with so many in need, we couldn't say "no". Burt is a shy fella, but gentle and receptive to human attention - what he needs most is a person/family that can be consistent with their interactions with him yet give him time and space (on his terms) to adjust to a new home and environment. Burt hasn't really been around children as he tends to watch visitors from a distance but with his gentle nature, we suspect he would do fine with children over the age of 5. Well-behaved dogs don't seem to phase Burt and is totally fine with other cats. Burt came to GGOH with his siblings, Ernie, Rita & Jake. Burt's DOB is approx. 3/24/2020. (Side note, Burt's not-so-happy face is just the way this fella looks and we think it's kind of cute!) If you'd like to meet Burt to consider him for adoption, please jump to our website (www.ggohinc.com) to review our adoption policies and process and to schedule an appointment for an on-site visit.

Story
Tookins is SUCH a sweet and loving girl! She's been friendly and social since the moment I brought her home. She likes to lay on me on the couch and sleeps next to me in bed. Also, she often touches my face so sweetly with her paw and it melts my heart. Tookins has beautiful, unique markings and very soft fur. She also does well riding in the car in a kennel. Tookins plays with toys a bit. One of her favorites is the round track with the ball and the scratching mat inside. She's also been a hoot to watch as she bats around a strip of fleece or a small stuffed mouse. Lately she's been getting the zoomies from time to time which is also pretty fun to watch! She has done well with the small dogs in the house. They don't snuggle or play much, but they're all very comfortable around each other. I also had a very shy foster kitten for a couple weeks at the start. The kitten loved Tookins, but it took her much of the time to warm up to the kitten. She preferred to roam the house with the dogs, although towards the end I'd find her laying on the futon next to the catio (where the kitten was). Tookins is carrying some extra weight, so I'm careful about measuring her food and avoiding extra treats. Our vet team also found that she has a heart murmur and some slightly abnormally-formed kidneys. Luckily both issues are very mild at the moment and not causing any problems or needing medication. However, her kidneys may put her at a higher risk for developing early renal disease. She'll need bloodwork and a urinalysis done every 6 months to monitor her kidneys so any changes can be caught and addressed right away. She'll also need yearly echocardiograms to monitor her heart, and again catch any issues early on. We understand that not all families will feel comfortable committing to these regular tests for the duration of her life, and that's ok. I know there's a perfect family out there for her that will, and I'm happy to keep loving on her till we find them. She's only two years old and deserves the best chance we can give her at a long and healthy life! Tookins- has 2 congenital abnormalities to make sure are noted. -Mild tricuspid valve insufficiency -Mild renal dysplasia She does not need any medications or special diets at this time. She should have her heart echoed again in 1 year, and possibly yearly after that. She should also have her kidney values and a urine checked every 6 months to monitor her kidneys as she is at risk for developing renal disease with her kidneys being abnormal.

Story
Meet Ruthie! She is a beautiful calico who is curious and observant. She is smart and loves her food. She uses an automatic feeder (included) to avoid overeating. She likes to play with toys and to be close to her humans. She accepts scratches/pets, but isn't fond of laps or being picked up. She doesn't mind dogs who ignore her. Other cats make her nervous. She isn't sure if they're trying to play or attack her. Because of this and her feeding needs, she would do best in a home without other cats or small children. She uses her litter box perfectly. Ruthie is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccines.

Meet Darwin! Your big, happy go lucky guy! He’s like Garfield, he likes to sleep, make snide comments, and is always ready for dinner! He’s getting around great these days after losing some weight in his foster home. He’s a big guy-clocking in around 22 pounds. He doesn’t mind being in the thick of things with his foster family and is very tolerant of kids, kittens, and other cats. He would do best if he has regular feeding times vs. having food out at all times ☺️

Meet Chip! Chip is such a beautiful boy with his striking tabby markings. Chip’s favorite thing is to politely sleep by his foster mom’s feet at the end of the bed! He loves to greet visitors at the door when they come over and is his foster mom’s tag along as she gets ready for work in the morning! He’s so soft and loves pets and getting scratches on the head and ears. Chip has the most endearing little chirp/trill when he wants to talk and is very submissive to other cats. He’s a little skittish with fast movements and big noise. He does great with all kids, adults, and cats in his foster family. Chip would love to be your new best bud!

Story
Kitty is about 17 years old and is still moving around good. she can still jump into her favorite recliner for those cat naps. Her hair gets clumped on her back cause she is unable to reach it to clean. Loves the ear and chin scratches, and will nuzzle your hand for a pet. She does not get along with any other cats or dogs and her litter box can be a little extra work as she is picky about its cleanliness. I usually have something in front of it like a puppy pad. I am transitioning into a different living situation and my current residence does not allow me to bring her with. She does currently have a place to stay but not for long. Until someone is willing to foster her. I will be unable to provider her a home for up to 8 months until I can find a place of my own. Looking for a temporary solution. Might be a good opportunity for someone to learn if owning a cat is for them.
