Story
Meet Mildred! Mildred was adopted from us previously, but the owners had to return her to us due to no fault of her own. We are looking for a home that fits her personality. She sometimes growls or hissy when being pet or picked up. We have come to learn that this is her way of talking to you and does not mean any harm, but she will still need someone who can give her her space when she needs it and have the patience to let her warm up to them. She has been hanging out in a foster home and this is what her foster family has to say about her `Mildred is a super sweet adult cat who loves to be around people. She just wants to be part of the action! Mildred is very curious about everything and everyone around her. She likes to explore her surroundings and look out the window to see what is going on. Adapting to new environments is not a problem for this adorable cat who will be an instant friend.` Mildred would be best in a home by herself! She will also need regular groomings/brushings as she tends to develop matts near her back end. Mildred is spayed, is up to date on her vaccinations, and is microchipped. Her adoption fee was generously sponsored by a friend of the shelter named Molly! Please fill out an application to meet Mildred! Adopt, Foster, Educate, Advocate!

Story
This fiery feline is ready to find her FURever home! Medusa came to ECCHA quite a while ago and was very sick when she first came in, but with some time and some extra love she is finally ready to go home. Medusa is on a sensitive food diet that will need to be kept up in her FURever home. Medusa has a BIG personality and is not afraid to let you know how she is feeling. She is very sweet, loves neck and ear scratches; but will get over stimulated and love bite when she has had enough. She is super playful and loves her toys! She is the QUEEN! so a household with no small children, dogs or cats is a must! She is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and will be microchipped on her adoption day! Her adoption fee has been graciously sponsored by our friends at Markquart Motors! Please contact ECCHA with any other questions! All is PAWSible when you ADOPT!

Story
Hello, I am Felix James, a very handsome 8-year-old tabby cat! I was diagnosed in October of 2023 with diabetes and was surrendered to the shelter in November of 2023 when my owners moved. I have been living in my foster home since November of 2023 with several other cats, some with diabetes too! I am a lap cat and enjoy my people time. I like to climb my tree tower and watch the birds and deer outside to pass the time. I am a very confident cat and get along with the other cats in my foster home. I use my scratching pole and my litter box. I would do best in a home with older children as I do get excited at times and give `love nips`! I LOVE my feline friends, so much so I would love to find my FURever home with my foster brother, Tigerstripe. I know we need some extra care, but we have extra love to give! I do need to have my care monitored by a veterinarian to keep me in good health! We can eat a good quality cat food that can be brought at your local stores just like other cats! We just need to keep an eye on our carbs! Please keep us special needs kitties in mind when you are looking to adopt! My adoption fee has been graciously sponsored in hopes I find a loving home soon! Please fill out an application to meet me!

Story
This is Trixie. She is a beautiful 3-year-old orange and brown tabby cat with soft plush fur who came to the shelter in January as a stray. At the shelter she would hide in the back of her cage and hiss and swat as she was so afraid with all the noise and activity. In March, Trixie was sent into a foster home to see how she would do in a quieter environment. At first, she hid under the bed, but after a few days she came out and started to explore her room and house at her own pace. Trixie prefers to be by her people or where she can see them. Trixie does not like to be confined but does go into her bedroom to nap or watch the birds from the window on her tree tower. She uses her scratching pole but also will scratch at furniture to get your attention. Trixie uses her litterbox and is a very clean kitty. She likes to roll over to get belly rubs but doesn`t like to be held unless she prompts it. She would probably do best in a quieter household with no young children. She would do best if there were people around most of the day as she does get lonely. Do you have room and time for a very special kitty? Trixie will be fully up to date on vaccines and microchipped on her adoption day. Trixie is Markquarts Pet of the Month so her adoption fee has been sponsored!

Story
Our sweet Potato is back! She is looking for a loving home to call her own, could that be yours? Potato was returned to ECCHA for not getting along with younger kids. We are not 100% sure if it is just situational as she thrives at Mr. Kitty`s Cat Café and Boutique where there are lots of kids visiting her throughout the days. We would like for her to be adopted to a family that has older kids (13 years and up) and for the family to please practice a slow introduction once at home. Potato is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $60. Please fill out an application to meet this sweet girl before it is too late!

Story
Meet Bubba! Bubba is a 5 year old, neutered male. This cat has big cheeks; his favorite thing is when you scritch under them by his neck. He has very good manners, and will always give you a "hello" sniff when you say hi, and will gently rub up against your hand as you meet him. He is a little nervous when he leaves his own space, so make sure he has a bed all to himself to relax in when you take him home. He is great with new people, and will personally greet each guest (as is befitting someone as distinguished as he is). Bubba first came to CHA as a stray in November of last year, but was adopted and returned for not getting along with the other animals in the home. Bubba would do best in a home with no other cats as he does get territorial. He is a sweet boy that really wants to find his people! They might just have to teach him a few manners! To meet Bubba in person please stop by the shelter on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday during our normal business hours. Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday doesn't work for you? To meet the animals any day of the week, please fill out an adoption application. Once your application is approved, we would be happy to make an appointment outside our normal business hours/days. To download an application, please visit our website at www.chippewahumane.com. Please call the shelter at (715)-861-5748 with any other questions.

Story
Meet Hera! Hera is a spayed, adult female. Nothing fazes Hera. Named after the Queen of the Gods in Greek Mythology, Hera was a notoriously protective and jealous Goddess. The cat you see here is much more mellow and relaxed. She loves being pet, and is the perfect lap cat. She will follow you to your seat and hop right it, wiggling around like a noodle until you and her are perfectly comfortable. Hera came to CHA as a stray in April with her 6 kittens! 2 of her kittens have luckily been adopted and unfortunately the rest of the kittens are being treated. Hera came in as a simi-feral but has been warming up more and more everyday! She will definitely need to go to a home with low energy and with people that will give her the time she needs to warm up and become her best self! To meet Hera in person please stop by the shelter on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday during our normal business hours. Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday doesn't work for you? Story
Meet Gibbons! Gibbons is a 4 month old male with UTD vaccinations. Gibbons' namesake is a man who rescued him from a tree after a storm. Gibbons is a little nervous around new people, but he loves to sniff your shoes and other belongings while your not looking. Don't worry if he doesn't warm up to you right away, he just needs some time to get used to you. Gibbons came to CHA as a stray with no mother or litter after being rescued from a tree! He was brought down and saved by Arborist Gibbons, whom he is proudly named after. Gibbons is currently being housed with Sandman and Gomer Pyle. When Gibbons first came in, he was covered in tree sap and absolutely terrified of people. Now that he has had a chance to warm up, he is happily up for adoption. Gibbons may come off as timid and fearful but as long as you slow, he will be purring in no time! To meet Gibbons in person please stop by the shelter on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday during our normal business hours. Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday doesn't work for you? Story
Meet Sandman! Sandman is a 4 month old male with UTD vaccinations. Sandman came to CHA as a stray with no mother or litter. Because of this, this little dude was Gomer Pyle and Gibbons. Sandman is a sweet little guy but he’s still a little timid around people. While he is unsure of being held, he will take all the pets you can give him! With a little time, Sandman will surely be out of his shell and all over your lap!
