Story
Please contact Pet (information@pethelpersinc.org) for more information about this pet.   Popper has been in her foster home since she was 3 weeks old and is now 10 months old. She loves all the other cats in her foster home and would love to have another kitty in her new home. Popper does have what we believe is a food allergy so has to be on a prescription diet. She was a bottle fed kitten (along with her 3 siblings who have all been adopted) since about 3 weeks old and she is now 8 months old. Popper will need a special home that will make sure she gets her prescription food from the vet. She has had some digestive issues but her new food has made her feel much better. Popper is a sweet girl and gets along great with all the other cats in her foster home and ignores the dogs. Popper is fully vaccinated, flea treated, microchipped and spayed. If you would like to give Popper an indoor home that would not have her declawed or would like more information about this sweetheart please fill out an adoption application at http://www.pethelpersinc.org/adoption-application/ Popper is fostered in West Milford WV and has a small adoption fee.  Adoption Fees: PUPPIES (under 1 year) $250.00,   Includes spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, age appropriate vaccines, heartworm/lyme test (if applicable), two rounds of dewormer, one round of flea medicine and microchip. ADULT DOGS (over 1 year) $225.00,   Includes spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, first set of routine yearly vaccines, heartworm/lyme test, two rounds of dewormer, one  round of flea medication, and Microchip. KITTENS AND CATS $100.00,   Includes spay or neuter,  vaccine according to their age, two rounds of dewormer, one round of flea medication, felv/fiv test, and microchip. Pet Helpers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foster based volunteer rescue located in Fairmont, WV.  We do adopt out of state to approved applicants, if you are willing to drive to WV to pick up your pet.  We do not fly or use transport companies.  Our adoption fee is $150.00 for mixed breed puppies and adult dogs, $225.00 for full blooded puppies and adult dogs and $50.00 for cats and kittens.  Regardless if the animal is a mixed breed or full blooded they are spayed/neutered prior to adoption IF they are old enough.  If they are too young at the time of adoption, then it is your financial responsibility to spay/neuter the pet by the age of 6 months and you must provide proof for our files that it has been done.  All of our pets are checked by a vet, given the shots appropriate for their age and any other treatment deemed necessary by the vet.  All of our pets are adopted as indoor pets and are not be outdoors tied to a box 24/7.  The pet you are adopting has been living in a home with a foster family.  You are expected to take possession of the pet you are applying for within a few days of application approval.  This will enable us to accept another pet into that home.  Because we are a rescue, and believe that spaying and neutering is crucial in stopping the reproduction of unwanted puppies/kittens and massive amounts of animals dying daily in shelters across the country, we expect any animal already in your home to be spayed/neutered. Story
Luisa is estimated to be 1 year old. She was trapped at a local grocery store and was pregnant. She delivered 5 kittens via caesarean.  The babies have found homes and it is time for her to find her forever home. She is a bit shy at first but is learning how to be an indoor only cat. She loves to be pet. She doesn't mind getting picked up but doesn't like to be held for long. She has come a long way since being trapped and will get better with a little patience. All of our cats and kittens are examined by a veterinarian, Feline Leukemia/FIV tested, vaccinated for Rabies and FVRCP, dewormed for internal parasites, checked for external parasites, current on heartworm prevention/flea control, and have been spayed/neutered.  Adoption fee is $120. Story
Orion and Lynx back with HBWV. They are brothers that we originally adopted out together in 2022, at around 4 months old. These great boys are back with us through no fault of their own. This bonded pair looks a lot alike, but Orion has the bigger black spots in front of his ears. Lynx's ears are bigger, and he has 3 black spots on his back. These kitties are full of energy and never stop playing and exploring. They play with anything and everything they can find. They are very friendly and always welcome any type of attention and treats. They love pets and will purr and roll around you to show you their affection. Orion warms up a bit quicker than Lynx, but both adjusted to the other cats and a dog in their foster home quickly. This pair would do best in a home where they are kept active, to help expel their high energy. After a full day of play, they love to sleep in the bed with their human during their down time. They are great cats, and deserve a adopter who will give them a wonderful forever home. Story
Atley and Reign are a bonded pair that came from a surrender/neglect situation. We have worked so hard to pull their personalities out!  These boys love all things toys, especially those springs that bounce all over and laser dots. Atley is the sweetest boy.  He is a snuggle bug and loves good pets and snuggles.  Atley is a brown tabby with cute white markings!   Reign is a shy but inquisitive and playful boy.  He is more shy and reserved but loves pets on the back of his neck. He is still unsure of pets anywhere else.  Reign is a gray tabby who loves to sleep with his belly up! Although they had a rough start, Atley and Reign love other cats and the small dog in his foster home. They also do well with children. While they are still cautious of humans, they enjoy being talked to and will talk back. Atley and his brother Reign will need adopted together. They will need a home that can provide them an abundance of love while being patient with them. In addition, they are on a special food diet. There is nothing better than watching Atley and his brother learn how to be a cat and learn that their world is safe again.  These boys are estimated to have been born 10/1/2023. Story
Please meet Spots! This shy little dude likes to pretend he doesn't want attention, but he loves being held and getting all of the love! Spots has a laid-back personality but also loves his catnip toys and crunchy balls. He gets along with everyone...cats and dogs included. He would do well as a single pet or in a home with a herd. And, when he sits just right, he has the cutest little heart on his side!  Spots is estimated to have been born April 30, 2024. Story
These sweet boys were born on July 4, 2024. They were found in a feral colony and were bottle babies. They are high energy and love to play. Wrestling with each other is their favorite pastime. Chasing laser dots and wand toys is a close second. When they finally wear themselves out, they will curl up together in the top of the cat tree for their afternoon nap. They purr loudly and love to cuddle with their people. They get along with other cats, but haven’t been around dogs yet.  Pork is more white, Beans is more gray.  These two brothers need to be adopted together. Story
Hi, my name is Raja, and I am 2 years old.  My former owner passed away and I found myself without a home until I landed with Homeward Bound WV.  I am used to being a single pet, but I may tolerate another cat.  I love affection and pets, but I don’t love being held.  I will do best in a quiet, laid-back home where I can play with toys and watch the birds from a window seat.
