This sweet, big girl is looking for her furrever home.  She was brought to CVAS by her very loving owner that had to surrender due to allergies.  When you fall in love with Seri Mae and want to take her home she is a cat in a box.  All of her belongings were packed and brought with her and will go with her.  She is a very spoiled princess.   I eat 1/4 - 1/2 cup(s) of dry food a day. ##2239850##

Story
SHY CAT SPECIAL, now until 6/30/25: $20 adoption fee, plus a free wand toy and churu treat to help with acclimating them to their new homes! PLUS extended 90 day trial adoption period! Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Pinto This adorable boy, born 8/15/23, arrived quite shy and has expanded his confidence with the help of a loving temporary foster home. He has developed a love of play and gets along well with other cats. Although Pinto will likely feel shy around new people to start, we expect him to adjust quickly as he did in his foster home. He is now living at the shelter and getting used to having new people to meet - once he gets used to a stranger, he is so happy to have love and attention. He has never met dogs so would need a slow introduction to a cat-friendly dog in the family; with proper introduction, most cats will learn to accept a calm and respectful dog over time. Pinto would prefer a calm, zen-like home environment. No toddler birthday parties for this shy guy, please! Here is further information on adopting a shy cat: https://anticruelty.org/pet-library/adopting-shy-cat There's nothing like the great feeling when your shy adoptee first jumps up on your bed for a snuggle! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Pinto is a suggested minimum of SHY CAT SPECIAL $20 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Felicia is a friendly, dainty girl estimated to be about 1 1/2 years old, who adores people and will happily perch on your lap for endless pets. You can find Felicia on the catio of her room patiently waiting to say hello to socializers and volunteers; she’s always one of the first to get in line for love and attention. Currently Felicia shares a room with 5 other cats. While she tolerates her roommates, we’ve noted that Felicia would probably prefer a home with no other cats - though she is fine with dogs. She tends to give herself some space from the cats in her room and will growl if she feels they are too close, especially if there’s a person nearby and she might miss out on attention. Felicia is loving girl and would fit in fine with just about any family. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Felicia is a suggested minimum of $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. VOTE FOR PEDRO! Like so many of the cats we take in, Pedro is the offspring of a cat abandoned in a rural area. Unable to care for them all, the person who found them brought them to us. The last step in his journey will be his very own forever home! About a year and a half old, Pedro has been neutered, wormed, vaccinated and has perfect litter box manners. He gets along great with other cats and we're sure will do well with cat friendly canines too, given some time to get used to them. Like his namesake, English is his second language, and he can be a little shy with new people. Once he knows he can trust you, he's the sweetest more lovable kitty you'd ever want to know and is ready to great you the minute you walk through the door. Even if you don't have a baby for him to kiss. The planks of his Black Cats Rule party platform include lots of quality time with your best buddy, snuggle sessions and plenty of treats for all! Oh, and don't worry, his $50 adoption fee does not constitute influence peddling. No need to wait for November, you can vote for Pedro right now! To do so, please fill out an adoption application on our website using this link: https://www.pawsitiveoutreach.org/adoption-application call Gina at (480)779-9208. We guarantee you'll never be happier about the results of an election! A PLEA FOR BLACK CATS! Did you know that black cats are the hardest to find good homes for? Though silly superstitions still persist, there's no good reason for that. Black cats just tend to get overlooked when there are more colorful cats around. We think they're the cat's meow, sleek, suave and sophisticated. Not to mention having the best personalities! Please consider giving a black kitty like Pedro the loving home he's been waiting for. You'll be very glad you did!

Story
INTRODUCING MAGGIE! Maggie, this little sweethearts' namesake, contacted us when the 4-legged Maggie was dumped at the Rodeo grounds campground in Newport. Dannie and Mark, two of our wonderful volunteers, leapt into action to get her out of a bad situation and to our shelter. Now all she needs is a forever home of her very own! Pretty and petite with gorgeous emerald eyes, Maggie is under a year old. She's been spayed, vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and has perfect litter box manners. She absolutely adores people of all sizes and starts purring and snuggling the minute you pick her up. Members of her own species, however, are a different story. She doesn't just dislike other cats, she detests their very existence and starts up a horrible ruckus should any of these inferior creatures dare to cross her line of sight. Obviously a cat shelter is hardly the ideal place for her, or the other cats who have no choice but to share her living space. A home where she can be your one and only kitty and Queen of her Castle will be ideal, however. The more time and attention her new family has to spend with her the happier she will be. To lower the drawbridge and welcome our little Princess home, please fill out an adoption application on our website using this link: https://paswsitiveoutreach.org/adoption-application, or call Gina at (480)779-9208. For a $60 adoption fee Maggie will rule over her new subject with love and magnanimity. Just don't even think about letting any other cats in the door!

Story
MEET SASHA AND VINNIE! We have no idea what happened to Sasha, the solid grey, Russian Blue cross, before he turned up out of the blue at our shelter one day. His ear was clipped and he'd already been neutered, so obviously he must have landed in a trap at some point. It seems very odd that we wouldn't be aware of a trapping situation in our area, but however he ended up here, it's a story he's not able to tell us. Vinnie, the handsome grey tabby and white boy, also landed up in a trap when we were trying to catch some errant kittens. They both have very similar stories, which may be why they've become such good buddies at the shelter. We think Sasha is about 2-3 years old and Vinnie is almost a year old. They've been neutered, wormed, vaccinated and are good boys with their litter box. They both get along well with other cats and would love to be adopted together, if possible. They both have the same plan of avoiding all the middle school drama in the shelter by hanging out together in the outside enclosure. They would probably adjust faster to their new home if they could stay together. They are a bit on alert with new people and situations right now, and who can blame them? Who knows what trauma and loss they must have been through? A calm adult home or one with older kids would probably be the best fir for them. Once they know they can trust you, they're both super lovable goofballs. Sasha especially, who practically ties himself up in knots trying to get your attention, as you can see from his photo shoot. 'Put that stupid thing down and come pet me already!' Petting he loves, but being picked up, not so much at this point. Living dangerously, as he has had to do with all the predators around here, the only reason anything would pick you up would be because they wanted to eat you! Vinnie, on the other hand, is getting more comfortable with the picking up thing and likes to sit in our laps now. Hopefully Sasha will follow Vinnie's lead eventually and humor our desire to pick him up, as incomprehensible as that may be to him. Give these sweet boys the time they need to settle in and feel safe and you'll have yourself the best buddies ever! For a $100 adoption fee for this charming pair, they'll be thrilled to finally start their happy new lives... with you! To meet them please fill out an adoption application on our website using this link: https://pawsitiveoutreach.org/adoption-application or call Gina at (480)779-9208. You'll be very glad you did!

Story
YOU'RE GONNA LOVE JADE KITTY! Our sweet Jade has had the hardest life, but it's onward and upward from now on! She showed up on a doorstep, pregnant in and in desperate need of help after apparently being abandoned. She was welcomed in and cared for, apart from one crucial necessity; she wasn't spayed! Two years later she and all her offspring have turned into over 30 cats. Fortunately her caregiver finally found us and we're working through it all. Phew! We think Jade is 2-3 years old. She's been spayed, of course (no more kittens for this girl!) wormed, vaccinated and is a good girl with her litter box. After making and nursing all those kittens, she's definitely on the thin side right now. Now that all her motherly duties are finally behind her, she'll fill out to her full weight and be even prettier! Jade gets along great with the other shelter kitties, in fact the first thing she did after recovering from her spay surgery was greet her new buddies with head butts. Since she's always been with lots of cats, she'd probably appreciate a feline companion or two in her new home. As easy going as she is, we're think she'll do just fine with cat friendly canines too. Nothing seems to phase this sweetheart much; she's seen it all! She adores people of all sizes and will be happiest in a home where she gets plenty of quality time with her special humans. Her $50 adoption fee will be the best deal you'll ever make! To meet this love bug, please fill out an adoption application on our website using this link: https://pawsitiveoutreach.org/adoption-application or call Gina at (480)770-9208. Jade can't wait to meet you!
