Story
Taco was rescued from a home in Virginia after a 4Paws volunteer learned that the parents didn't want him any longer and planned to just put him out on the street. He loves human attention for petting. He has big bursts of energy and will run around the house. He plays with several resident cats, often rough-and-tumble. He tends to be a door dasher, so he is not suitable for a home with small children who have not yet mastered the art of keeping doors closed, both interior and exterior. Adults also need to be very aware that he can be right behind you when you are opening a door and that he can be quick. He is super curious what interesting things may lie on the other side of a door. He has a great appetite, with all-day access to a high quality chicken kibble and twice-daily servings of juicy Fancy Feast, which he loves (and he is very vocal when he knows food is coming his way). In fact eating seems to be a Olympic sport a which he always wins gold. He will try to steal the other cats' food, even off your plate too. Taco needs to go to a home with another young kitty of his same energy level, he loves to play and is very social with other cats. He will need toys to bat around. He was easily integrated into his foster home and got along with the resident cats quickly. Taco was born around late January 2023. He is neutered, current on vaccines, tested negative for FiV/FeLV, and has been micro chipped. *** PLEASE NOTE*** 4Paws will only consider local adoptions (Northern VA / DC / MD metropolitan area) 4Paws does not adopt to students Kittens under 6 months old need to go to a home that already has another active cat of similar age. Otherwise they need to be adopted with a kitten from their current foster home or a kitten from another 4Paws foster home.

Story
Geisha was left behind by her prior owners when they moved out of an apartment complex in Oxon Hill MD. She struggled to survive on her own until neighbors got help to rescue her. Geisha is a very sweet and affectionate kitty that loves human attention and can be very vocal about it. She purrs happily when petted and likes to snuggled right by her Person's side to chill and watch TV. But she will also chase a wand toy like nobody's business! Geisha does not like to compete with other cats for her Person's attention, so she needs to be the only kitty in the home. She is not good with small children but should be OK with older children. Geisha was born about August 2022. She is spayed, current on vaccines, tested negative for FiV/FeLV, and has been micro chipped.

Story
Meet Cecelia, a.k.a. "Leeloo, a (ahem... ahem) middle-aged kitty who came to 4Paws after being surrendered by her previous owner. Cecelia is looking for an experienced (patient and understanding) owner who is aware of and respects her boundaries and needs; in return, however, she can show you how playful, chatty and entertaining she can be. Cecelia is OK with being held for short periods of time, provided that you have fully earned her trust. She can even show you that she knows how to flop on the ground in front of you and rub against your legs. Being a lap cat is not her thing, but she will gladly take a spot with window view on the cat tree anytime. Cecelia wants you to know that, although she is middle-aged, she can still find balls, wand toys with feathers on the tip a good source of exercise. Cecelia is currently on canned prescription food. Her ideal forever family should be ready to devote as much time as it takes to learn her likes and dislikes. This dedication comes with its rewards for any adopter who is looking to establish with Cecelia a long-lasting relationship of mutual respect and understanding. Cecelia must be your one and only feline companion in a household without children and/or dogs. Cecelia is current on her vaccinations, spayed and microchipped, and tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia. ********* Please note: 4Paws will only consider local adoptions (Northern VA / DC / MD metropolitan area) 4Paws does not adopt to students All kittens under 6mos of age must be adopted into a home that already has another young cat/kitten; otherwise, must be adopted in pairs with a littermate.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Solara was rescued from West Virginia. She currently lives with other cats but she is not interested in interacting with them. Rather, she seems to barely tolerate them and she gets annoyed when they get into her personal space, resulting in growling and oftentimes a spat. She will be much happier as the only cat in the home with a loving human to dote on her. She is a half-lap cat in that she joins her foster mom on the easy chair by tucking her body alongside, then draping her front legs over half the lap, and she enjoys her foster mom's attention but does not like it when another cat wants to interrupt. Being a calico, she has that combination of both sweet and sassy personalities. In her foster home she has been eating Fancy Feast canned twice daily and has free access to Purina Pro Plan chicken kibble. She has good litter box manners and is accustomed to unscented litter in a high-sided box. She will want some toys to bat around and an upright scratching post wrapped in sisal rope. A high cat tower near a window is a must, as she often parks herself at the top. She is not suited for a house with small children or dogs, as commotion and loud noises easily startle and upset her, nor is she good for a first-time cat owner. She will need an experienced cat owner who will allow extra patience and time for her to relax and acclimate to a new environment as it takes her some time to warm up to new people. Her estimated birthdate is 9/1/2021. She is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, has been micro chipped, and has been spayed. ********* Please note: 4Paws will only consider local adoptions (Northern VA / DC / MD metropolitan area) 4Paws does not adopt to students
