You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. We have healthy feral and semi-feral cats in need of new outdoor homes! These cats make ideal residents for farms, horse stables, barns, and other suitable locations with outdoor shelter options. And they help with rodent control! The cats will all be spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies, and ear-tipped. The cats will require a period of adjustment to acclimate to their new outdoor homes, and we will gladly provide guidance and assistance with the relocation process. Barn cat adopters are required to fill out the same application as our regular cat adopters, however, we are much more flexible and less stringent with the application review process. Barn cat applications are sent to our TNR Program Manager following an initial review. We offer barn cats for no adoption fee, but we request a donation. This is because so many of these cats are unable to be tamed and therefore cannot be adopted as indoor pets. By placing them in a setting where they are safe and fed, you are giving them the best home possible for their circumstances; you are literally saving their lives. Many of these cats are in danger, unwanted, uncared for, are displaced or no longer have anyone to take care of them. This beautiful girl has been through a lot, but she is the sweetest girl. She is extremely affectionate and loves interactive play or sitting contented in a lap, purring and giving little kisses. She was rescued by a good Samaritan after she had been hit by a car; her pelvis was crushed, and her tail had to be amputated, but she has healed well and is ready to find her forever home. The only remaining issue from the accident is that her pelvis is very narrow, such that she needs her diet and stools monitored to make sure her stools are soft and easy to pass; it is very difficult (likely impossible) for her to pass large, hard stools. She seems to do best with cheaper, less digestible food (NOT grain free), both canned and dry, and a once-daily dose of Miralax and Lactulose. She can't jump any higher than a chair, and even that is difficult for her. Jolene will do well with gentle dogs and careful children. We would like her to be adopted to a home in the Lynchburg area so that her current foster (a veterinarian) can continue to monitor her condition and provide any care necessary.  Jolene is also FIV positive, which means she has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Simply put, she has a weakened immune system. FIV is technically contagious to other cats but is only transmitted through deep bite wounds, so as long as cats aren't fighting, there is no risk of transmission. FIV+ cats can live normal, healthy lives. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bo came to us as a rehome from a home where he was very loved.  Unfortunately Bo's two older siblings became aggressive towards him after their human mom became pregnant so they decided to rehome him so he could have the life he so deserves.  Since moving in with his foster mom at CVRR Bo has made AMAZING progress from being guarded and scared to now being a part of the pack.  He's living and thriving with young kittens at the moment and hasn't been aggressive at all.  When they get too crazy around him he lets them know and they all respect one another's space.  Bo loves to play and climb on the cat tree by the window, which is also where he lays in the sun and watches the birds and people outside.  This big boy would do best in a calm household.  He has lived with a dog in the past and they were best friends so he would likely be OK with another calm dog if introductions are done slowly.  Bo is very affectionate and will do a little happy dance for you when you come home so he can get ALL the pets. They will keep you laughing with chasing each other in a game of tag, jumping contests, and soccer games. They are full of life and energy, and affectionate, too. They will jump in your lap to eat treats from your hand. They also love to rub their faces on yours to say, "Treats, please!" Sweet cat he loves to sit and look out the window. Would keep them all but Dad passed away and had so many. He came from a very crowded house. I think Richard is one of the best and waiting to be spoiled in a new home. Loves other cats and small dogs. Doesn't like to be picked up much but loves to sit on your lap for cuddles.
