Story
Mary and Mini’s Personalities Mary and Mini are adorable dilute tortoiseshells with light grey and peach colored coats. They are very sweet and don't showcase any of those sassy "torti" traits. These girls love playing, chasing and wrestling with each other, and being petted by their foster parents. Both girls have been "caught" spinning in circles, chasing their own tails. They sleep curled up together, are perfectly matched, and must be adopted together. MARY is a beautiful girl with a peach tipped tail that helps you distinguish her from her sister. She is everything that a kitten should be - beautiful, silly, playful, curious, sweet and playful. Mary is a friendly, confident girl who adapts quickly to new people and places. She loves to romp and wrestle with her sister and toss toy mice around. Mary greets you with an happy upward tail, and purrs when you pet her. She is always up for kitten shenanigans and won’t turn down an opportunity to chase a feather on a stick. When she is tuckered out from playing, Mary loves to curl up next to you or snuggle with her sister. MINI has a lighter face than her sister with a cute peach streak from her forehead down to her nose. She is the more mischievous of the two sisters, but it takes a little time for Mini's true personality to come out. Mini is initially quite shy in new environments, and looks to Mary to show her that new things and new people are ok. Happily, after a few weeks in their foster home, Mini went from being in Mary's shadow to taking the lead herself. Now Mini is usually the one taking charge when it comes to play sessions, grooming each other, and sitting in their foster mom's lap. Mini is also the more chatty of the two sisters. She has opinions on many things and isn't shy in telling everyone what she thinks! Type of Home They Need Mary and Mini need a quieter home with experienced cat caretakers who give them plenty of nurturing as they grow up. A home with an adult couple would be ideal although an older cat-savvy child would be ok (about 12 yrs or older). No very young children or dogs now or in the future. Where They Came From These girls were rescued as young kittens, along with their mom cat and two brothers, from someone’s home where they weren’t being adequately cared for.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Story
Sassy and Raven's Personalities These sisters are sweet, friendly, and well-adjusted kittens. They are curious and moderately playful, and amazingly well-behaved! Their foster mom has trained them to use scratching posts made of sisal and cardboard. They are snugglers and love to cuddle with their foster mom. Sassy and Raven are bonded and must be adopted together. SASSY (black and orange tortoiseshell) is the happiest girl and bolder than her sister, Raven. She greets you with trills and meows and loves, loves, loves belly rubs. She literally throws herself on the ground, rolling over and begging you to rub her belly. Sassy loves to play with her sister, Raven, and makes the cutest trilling sounds when playing with her toys and tearing through paper packaging and cardboard boxes. She likes to carry plush toys around in her mouth, growling to warn you to stay away from her prey. Sassy is so adorable and always ready to play. RAVEN (black) is the smallest in the litter. "Little Raven" is very curious and loves to try new things first. This sweet girl will be shy initially with new people, but once she gets to know you, she will be your loving companion. Raven is very playful and likes to steal the resident cat's purple bat toy to drag around - even though the toy is half her size! Raven does this despite the fact that the resident kitty is very spicy and likes to command her little kingdom. Raven also loves to be picked up and held for cuddles and has the sweetest personality and meow. What Type of Home They Need Sassy and Raven need a quieter home where Raven will be given a little time to adapt. They will do fine with a single person or a couple. A family with an older child (about 12 years or older) would be fine as long as the child has experience with cats and understands that Raven will be shy initially. They have learned to respect the spirited adult cat in their foster home and steer clear of her when she wants to be left alone! Where They Came From These girls were rescued from outdoors when they were young kittens, along with their two brothers, Wesley and Wrangler (adopted). They adapted quickly to living indoors and are happy, well-adjusted kittens.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Bluey is an independent lady with lots of purr-tential. She is currently accepting applications for a human companion. Because Bluey knows she is a dashing and beautiful girl, she expects royal treatment (very doable treatment after negotiation!) She has advised us that her human companion needs to be ready to supply her with both her wants and needs: Her human should not hesitate to buy her the biggest box of her favorite treat tubes and feed her one at least one per day. Bluey also requests that her human has both the skill and stamina to participate in her favorite playtime activity: the dance of the feathered wand. When not busy playing feather wand with her, said human companion should give Bluey scritches in all of her favorite spots (cheeks, behind the ears, top of her head, and under her chin) using her implement of choice (her current favorite is a back scratcher). Most importantly (or at least as important as all responsibilities related to treats), Bluey's human companion will need to be a patient person, who understands that she will need some time and space to evaluate their skills and worthiness. Bluey is charming, playful girl who will be a joy in your life. To apply to spoil Bluey, please fill out an adoption application (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LDAC/Cat) or email questions to cat.adoptions@lostdogrescue.org.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
As the runt of the litter, Luigi is small but mighty - he's usually first to start climbing and exploring in new surroundings and is invariably the first, and loudest when it's time for wet food. Luigi adores laps, shoulders, and other cats of all sizes and ages. He's an indiscriminate cuddler who will snuggle with a human as readily as he will snuggle up to a cat or pile of kittens. When he's not sleeping or eating, Luigi is probably wrestling with his brother Wario. Luigi and Wario are best friends, and need to be adopted together. To learn more about how to adopt Luigi and Wario, please fill out an adoption application (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LDAC/Cat) or email questions to cat.adoptions@lostdogrescue.org.

Story
Meet Wario! He's a laid back kitten who loves playtime. Wario will wrestle anyone or anything, and he never met a string he wasn't determined to conquer. He also loves to chase little springs, stuffed mice, and feathers. Wario is a pretty serious napper when sleep time comes, especially snuggling with his brother Luigi. Wario and Luigi are best friends, and need to be adopted together. To learn more about how to adopt Wario and Luigi, please fill out an adoption application (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LDAC/Cat) or email questions to cat.adoptions@lostdogrescue.org.

Please contact Lindsey Cope (lindseyc@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Snuggles needs a snuggle buddy!!SNUGGLES NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Check me out on Instagram at @luckydog3302 Name: Snuggles  Best Guess for Breed:  Domestic Short Hair Age: 6 years (Estimated DOB: 10/27/2017)  SEX:  Female Approximate Weight:  6 lbs as of 10/28/23  Coloring: Gray Tabby  Type of Hair: Short Gets Along With: With proper integration, Snuggles should get along with other cats, dogs, and kids. We’re happy to help with tips and tricks! Currently Living at: Foster home in the DC area I am Looking For: My forever home! Hi- I'm Snuggles - a gorgeous girl looking for a home of my own. I won’t ask for much...just some love, cuddles and a sunny place to nap. And maybe a few toys too!  What My Foster Says About Me: (11/9) Snuggles is doing great-- very playful, loves to help in the kitchen and is on guard if food drops. However, give her a window to people watch out of or lay in the sun and she is content! She is living her best life. (6/21) With it being summer, Snuggles' new favorite activity is people watching at the pool. My foster room has a huge window that overlooks the pool and Snuggles is memorized! Same for when she is in the living room-- she sits by the sliding glass door and watches the world around her. She is doing amazing!(5/14) We had some major breakthroughs this past weekend with Snuggles! She is becoming more adventurous, playful, and a little mischievous. We’re slowly introducing new toys and she’s showing more interest! She is exploring more, too-- She may be six, but she’s starting to revert back to her kitten days! For potential adopters, I would just say give her time to adjust to a new environment. It is definitely worth it! (5/4) Snuggles is doing amazing! She is really coming out of her shell. I am working on introducing new toys-- she has her favorite and sticks to it! Does really well with liquid treats and wet food is her preference. Wants heads scratches and pets all day and wants to just snuggle! (4/15) Snuggles loves to be anywhere I am- she wants to be a helper in the kitchen and follow me wherever I go. She is taking sometime to cuddle which is understandable, she just wants to be near you and know she is safe. She is completely treat and food motivated. Loves toys especially wand and feather toys. Story
Leyla's Personality Beauty and brains, sweet and just a little bit sassy. This little charmer, whose nickname is "Miss Bean," will win you over in no time. Leyla loves hanging out with her foster parents and is always close. She likes to lay next to you on the couch - just provide a nice, soft fleece blanket. Leyla is super friendly and loves, loves, loves being brushed. She enjoys a gentle routine and rewards you with soft purrs and gentle head butts. Leyla came into SPCA's care pregnant - delivering six healthy kittens two days later. Once her kittens were weaned and adopted, Leyla became more playful as she learned to be a kitten again! Leyla goes nuts over a catnip-filled pillow. She sometimes gets the zoomies and chases just about anything that moves. Miss Bean won't wake you up for breakfast in the morning, but waits patiently by your side until you pet her, then she starts the day with the loudest purr. She loves to sleep on a soft blanket on the bed at night and occasionally chases your toes under the covers. Her favorite things are catnip toys, getting brushed and showing off her trick sitting on command for treats. If Leyla can’t find you, she lets out a little meow, and comes running when you call. She loves people, and is not shy at all. She is a perfect little companion. What Type of Home Leyla Needs This sweet, sassy girl needs a home where people are around for her to hang out with. She is not demanding, but likes to be near people. Leyla likes to be in charge of her territory and needs to be the only pet - no other cats or dogs. When Leyla is unsettled or anxious about new things, she can get a little over-stimulated and nip your hands - so no young children now or in the future. An older, cat-savvy child who has lived with cats before might be ok (over about 12 years of age). This behavior has subsided in her foster home now that she has settled in. Where Leyla Came From Leyla was rescued from outdoors by a kind man who found her abandoned in a park shortly before giving birth to six healthy kittens (all adopted). She was such a sweet, nurturing mama. Now its time for Leyla to have a home of her own.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA.
