Story
Mutt (the cat), one of the Schitt’s Creek kittens, was brought to a caring volunteer by his mom, a community cat. She was given a warm, safe place to raise her kittens inside and this little man has never looked back after is brother, David said it was OK! He absolutely loves his brother, David and enjoys spending his days cuddling in boxes and baskets with him. Don’t let his lounging ways fool you though; he is very playful and will demand cuddles and pets. If he isn’t getting enough attention, he will let you know that he needs TWO hands to pet him! Stop before he’s done, and he will nuzzle you till you have changed your mind. Mutt (the cat) is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed and microchipped. He is litter-box trained and uses cat trees and scratching posts appropriately. We are still accepting applications on this pet. Please read the Adoption Process steps below. Story
Maris is a playful young adult. She enjoys climbing on cat trees and playing “Queen of the Mountain” on the top shelf. She enjoys head scratches when it is time for her breakfast or dinner – she’s quite food motivated. She will need an experienced adopter as she is extremely cautious around people. She can startle easily, so she will do best with an understanding family who will work with her while she acclimates to her forever home. She is a beautiful girl who loves to be petted once she is settled. She loves to play with other cats and will do well in a home with other pets. Maris is up-to-date on all vaccines, she is spayed and microchipped, litter box trained and eats both wet and dry food. If you are reading this, we are still accepting applications on this pet. Story
Gorgeous Lorelei was relinquished to Collin County Animal Shelter extremely pregnant. Knowing she was very young, RHS took her in so she could have her kittens in a loving and safe environment. Little did we know the next day she would become a mother to five babies!! She was the best mother any kitten could ask for, although she was very inexperienced. She has the most silky soft silver-gray coat that you’ll just want to pet. She absolutely loves human attention, but can become over-stimulated sometimes, so she needs to be in a home with a family that has experience with particular kitties. She has lived with a few dogs and decided they are not her speed, but she would do well with a quiet, passive cat as she is very dominant.  Sadly, momma cats are often left behind and have to wait months if not longer to find their perfect home. Please consider adopting this young-adult little girl; she will make someones home so very happy!! Lorelei is spayed, up-to-date on all recommended vaccines and has been microchipped. She uses scratching posts appropriately and is litter box trained. ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX. Story
David, one of the Schitt’s Creek kittens, was brought to a caring volunteer by his mom, a community cat. She was given a warm, safe place to raise her kittens inside and this little man has never looked back! David’s three passions are cuddling, golf on TV and his brother, Mutt (the cat). More on the TV: he LOVES to watch anything, but sports are his jam. He even has his own spot near the TV so he has a front-row seat! Don’t worry though, he’s not interested IN the TV. He is a very playful and gentle kitty. He can be a bit hesitant at first, but his desire to be loved on always wins out and he turns into the cuddliest love bug. He is very laid-back and goes with the flow. He’ll let you know if you’re in by rolling over to expose his belly for scratches so he can get all of the rubs. David is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed and microchipped. He is litter-box trained and uses cat trees and scratching posts appropriately. We are still accepting applications on this pet. Story
Poppy Cat came to us very pregnant right before this year's winter storm. She knew she needed to find a place indoors to deliver her kittens and made several appeals to one of our volunteers until we found her a foster and a safe place to start her little family. She gave birth to four beautiful kittens: Alder, Lilac, Posie and Willow, raising them until they were ready to find their own homes. When her kittens went to a different foster home to learn how to be proper little cats, Poppy Cat set about taking the no-more-kittens pledge and is finally ready to find her forever home.  She is very curious about everything and frequently follows her foster parent around the house to ensure she doesn’t get into trouble. She loves playing with toys and other cats but prefers to initiate snuggle times with humans on her schedule. She's very sweet and loving and is still learning who she is as an indoor cat. She will thrive in a relaxed, no-pressure home that patiently and lovingly accepts her for who she is: a fabulous cat. Poppy cat is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed and microchipped. She is litter-box trained and uses cat trees and scratching posts appropriately. If you are reading this, we are still accepting applications on this pet. Please read the Adoption Process steps below. Story
Macie is a darling DSH brown with white tabby female born approximately 9/1/2020. I have been in my foster home for a very long time. I totally understand though. I was so feral that even my foster mom thought there was no hope for me to have a furrever home. But with so much patience and a safe place, I am learning how to not be so fearful. My friend, Ashy, has helped me so much, but there is still that tiny voice that tells me I can’t completely let go of all my fear. I have come along ways and now love to watch birds, play with toys, have my tummy rubbed, and I even get the zoomies. During the day I sleep, but early mornings and in the evenings is when I am most comfortable.  With more time and a furrever home of my own, I am sure the days will become more fun-filled and less fearful. I can get along with other cats and probably dogs and kids too, but I may not be a lot of fun until I am less fearful.  Do you have the patience to enjoy my company? Then eventually in time, we can be best friends! I am a good girl with no bad habits.     Macie is microchipped and currently in a foster home. Her adoption fee is $105.November 4, 2024, 1:06 pm

Story
James is a handsome DSH orange tabby male born approximately 3/13/2021. James was originally rescued by NBCR along with his mother and his 6 other siblings. He and his brother, Jacob, were then adopted into a loving home. Sadly, through no fault of their own, they were returned to us about a year later. They have since been in a long-term foster home where they are much loved and cared for. They would still love to have a truly forever home to call their own. James and Jacob are quite bonded. James is timid and super shy except with humans he feels comfortable with. He sleeps with his foster, but still can be startled if she moves too fast. He would do best adopted with his brother as they seem to find comfort having each other's presence.  They both like people and attention, but they do still get scared easily. James isn't quite as brave as Jacob, so he isn't quite as comfortable out and about through the whole house. If it gets too much, he will go upstairs until things calm down. Really, James' needs are simple: a calm person and place to go to when scared, someone to sleep with at night, and canned food every day. That's his happy thing! They would probably do okay with kids who are calm and give them time to adjust. James is microchipped and currently in a foster home. His adoption fee is $105. November 4, 2024, 1:06 pm

Story
Tiger is a handsome DSH orange and white tabby senior gentleman born approximately 5/25/2013. "I found my home when I was just a baby by going under the fence. After a couple of months, I could no longer fit under the fence and had to jump over the fence. A nice man greeted me every day with food and pets, and eventually, I was invited to live inside with him.  Then came along another kitty named Lady. We got along well and played together for a long time. Now, I am all grown up and mature, but sadly, the nice man who rescued us recently passed away and now we must start over. If Lady could come with me to a new family, it would make the transition to starting over a little bit easier.    I am very laid back and sweet. I love canned food and treats. I enjoy being petted, sleeping in a box, and recently being brushed to keep my fur looking great. Sometimes I would sneak outside when the door was open long enough, but it didn’t take long for me to want to run back to be let in. So, for a while, I would need to be watched so that I don’t want to do that and get lost."  Although Tiger has previously lived in a multi-cat household, we aren't sure how he would do with other cats in a new home situation. We do know he currently seems fearful of dogs. Tiger is microchipped and currently in a foster home. His adoption fee is $105.November 4, 2024, 1:06 pm

Story
Meet Bayou, a super handsome black and white Tuxedo boy. He's solidly built and super laid back.  He takes his cues from those (both feline and human) he's around. You can pick him up, snuggle him and he rolls with most everything. His foster family shares that he's great with their nine year old child – super cute when they read in bed together every night.  He acquiesces to his female sister Gumbo when it comes to food and play so we know he would do well with another cat in a new home.  He loves the toy balls to bat about and adores the play tube/tunnel. Likes high places and play wrestling with his sister. Does like to use the cat tree for scratching, a very nice habit!  His estimated birth date is July 12, 2024. Cats adopted from TMHPR are indoor only. ##2156880##
