Story
UNEMPLOYED BARN CATS seeking suitable positions with available vermin. The shelter has barn cats ready for immediate employment. We hate seeing them languish in cages when they could be productive members of wildlife society! If you are interested email animalsvc@georgetown.org with the subject line of "interested in a barn cat". The application/screening process for potential adopters usually takes about 24 hours except when it falls over a weekend or holiday, and then it may take two or three days. We ask that potential adopters please be patient with us; we are only trying our best to ensure that the homeless pets in our care get the best possible home. All cats and dogs adopted from our shelter are spayed or neutered (as Texas law mandates). Our adoption fee is currently $70 for non-residents and $75 for residents*. The adoption fee includes: spaying/neutering vaccinations (appropriate to species and age) heartworm or feline leukemia test (appropriate to species and age) de-worming medication microchip (a tiny ID tag inserted under the skin, which allows your pet to be returned to you quickly) There is a $5 Pet License fee added to the adoption fee if the adopter lives inside the City Limits of Georgetown. Please visit our website for more information on how to adopt, special events, adoption application, educational and volunteer information. http://pets.georgetown.org/ Georgetown Animal Shelter P.O. Story
Scottie is a wonderful young cat who was rescued from living underneath an apartment building. Scottie is so friendly, we think, he must have been somebody's kitten at one point. When we rescued him, Scottie was living in the crawl space of an apartment building alongside with about 20 other cats. Scottie has already been fully vetted, he's FIV/Leukemia NEGATIVE. He's a super nice cat, very affectionate, playful and super easy. We think, he can get used to a friendly dog. Scottie is looking for an adult home. Ingrid (512) 980-0105 pcdrapps@yahoo.com

Story
Hello! Reposting to try to find miss church a home! After over a year of trying to acclimate her using various methods to her new cat brothers after blending a family, we have sadly come to accept that she thrives better by herself. She now lives isolated in a room as it is stressful on her to keep her out. She did live peacefully with an older girl cat before the move. We did find her a home earlier in the year but she was returned to us due to her not getting along with the kitten she was with as well. If you are looking for a sweet, independent lady cat to keep you company this is your gal! She is very skiddish at first and loves to make the first move as far as petting and cuddling but she will come around once she gains confidence in her environment. We are moving towns in two weeks so please help us find her a home she will thrive in!

Story
Loki is a very sweet and gentle cat. He's about 5 years old. I got him from the animal shelter when he was a kitten. At that time I did not have kids. Since then my kids have developed an allergy towards cats. I am no longer able to keep Loki. He plays well with dogs and other cats. He's great with my kids. He likes a clean litter box & a bowl full of food and water.

Story
I picked these two up from the Humane Society when they were kittens back in May of 2016. They grew up around my roommates two large dogs for a few months. My current girlfriend has a dachshund and they have met on a few times but are unsure about him. She is not very vocal unlike her sister. They both have been on a raw food diet since the start. She has also been declawed in the front.

Story
A 3-year-old female cat, gentle and affectionate in nature. She loves being around people and is very friendly. A super lap cat that sits in your arm whenever you lying on the couch ❤ She uses the litter box properly and doesn’t scratch, bite, or meow excessively. She enjoys playing with a laser pointer and hide-and-seek. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and is in good health, with deworming medication included. Due to her timid personality, she’s been bullied by another male cat in the house, which has caused her stress and led to her urinating everywhere. We hope to find her a loving home where she can be cared for.

Story
Rosalind (Roz) is a sweet older lady who needs a good home. I am recently married and moving in with my new husband and stepkids and am unable to take her with me due to a dog in the household and severe cat allergies from extended family members. I adopted Roz from a shelter when she was a year old and have had her and her (also adopted) sister Friday in my home for the past 14 years. Roz loves to cuddle and play. She can adapt to other cats in the household but it may take time. She is prone to anxiety if things change to fast and just needs love and comfort to adapt. She is very active for a senior cat and still loves to play, run, and jump. She has been fully indoor her whole life but loves to be out on my screened porch watching the birds. She does well with kids and people of all ages as long as they are gentle with her. She loves to curl up on a blanket, sit in the sun on the windowsill, and just be close to you as much as possible.
