Story
I have him scheduled with Healthy pets and the deposit paid to have him fixed next month I rescued him when he was 6 wks old with his sister who found a home. I need to find him a home because my older cat has anxiety because of his energy. I wanted to wait till after Halloween to find him a home. He is the sweetest, most loving boy. He's very talkative and loves to climb. He loves to chill and get his paws rubbed. He's good with other cats and small dogs. Not sure about bigger ones. He hides from my 3 yr old nephew. He needs vetted and fixed. This beautiful boy needs to find his forever home. After seeing personally how his sister has taken to her new owner, I truly believe his family is out there.

Story
River (male) and Moon (female), very bonded siblings, came to us on December 14, 2024. We named one River for the road the house was on, and Moon because the moon was full and gorgeous the night we caught them. The kittens ran into a garage in our community, and the nice people, rather than chasing them out, closed the garage door and called our rescue. That was the evening of December 13. We went over the next evening with a trap. The homeowners had put out food (eaten) and a litterbox (not used). When we got there, the kittens were under a tool cabinet. We set the trap and told the homeowner, “They obviously like food, so we’ll be back in an hour.” Sure enough, one hour later - Kitten #1 (River) was in the trap. Kitten #2 (Moon) was frantically trying to get to River, but scurried back under the cabinet as we approached. We transferred River to a carry crate and said to the homeowner, “See you in an hour for Kitten #2.” It took only 45 minutes. The initial “spicy” behavior of both kittens indicated they are feral and very scared, but we were able to gently pet them within 24 hours. They both like food, and as they continue to build trust, they are learning to accept and enjoy human contact. Next comes play and toys. The vet says they are seven weeks old, so we are calling their birthday October 27, 2024. Both are FIV/FeLV negative, dewormed, and vaccinated. They were also treated for fleas and ear mites. The nominal adoption fee covers their thorough medical exam, deworming, vaccines, blood tests, and spay/neuter. Since these two are bonded siblings and found a way to survive together, we will only consider adopting them as a pair. To set up a visit with River and Moon, drop me a note at cherylsferalsandfosters@gmail.com or PM me. If you are considering adopting them, please fill out and submit the adoption contract found in The Adoption Process link on my website (cherylsferalsandfosters.com). In the meantime, you can follow their journey on Facebook: Cheryl’s Ferals and Fosters Chat Group. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3).

Story
This handsome boy is Pawl. He needs a BREAK! Maybe that special person is listening today!!! He came to the HSYC as a stray so we are learning all we can about his nature. We estimate his age to be around 3.5 years old. Pawl is coming along nicely. He’s adjusting to the rescue life but would so prefer to be in a home he can call his own. As we do with all our furfriends, Pawl is neutered, micro chipped, vaccinate and tested. Often as strays they test positive for FIV. Pawl tested positive. FIV(Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) which is a virus that just simply lowers the number of white blood cells in a cat's body. FIV+ cats can enjoy a normal, long lifespan with no apparent health issues from the virus. FIV can only be transmitted from cat to cat, it is NOT contagious to people or other animals. This means he can be in a home with other cats but passive behavior cats preferred or a home where he gets ALL the attention! If Pawl grabs your heart, please don’t let him spend one more day at the Rescue, call today to make an appointment 803-802-0902. Remember:o Everyone in the household must come to the appointment.  Transition time for our FURfriends may vary. Give them the time they need to adjust. You won’t regret it.If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
Sunflower is a very affectionate, Happy and Loving cat. We are saddens that we have to find him a new forever home, that was what we expected to be. Sunflower prefers a quiet environment, that we are unable to provide because we a very loud and chaotic household. One of our children is Autistic and at times he makes strange loud noises that unfortunately scare sunflower. He still comes out for attention, purring and loving on us. Until he hears a loud noise or senses rapid movement. We feel that a quiet laid back household would be the place for him to live his best cat life possible. He gets a long with our other cats perfectly. He just needs a calmer environment. He usually sleeps with our youngest child. Sunflower. Sunflower is just skittish around our other child sue to his movement and the sounds he makes. Thank you for taking the time to read this , and considering rehoming any pet in need.
