Story
Hazel is a 1.5 year old shorthair house cat with a Tortoiseshell coat and is declawed. She is very affectionate and loves people and enjoys playing with her toys. She is up to date on her shots and has a microchip. She was living with my son and his girlfriend in an apartment, but they have had to move back in with their parents. Neither parent can take the cat due to allergies so we need to find a home for her. This will make a great pet for a loving family.

On occasion, inquiries are not forwarded automatically to our rescue by Adopt a Pet. If you would like to inquire about one of our kitties, please reach out directly to the rescue. Thank you! This pretty young lady found herself a mommy and dumped on the streets. She has had a challenging beginning, yet she is now safe and healthy with our rescue. Bailey is understandably shy and fearful, and her perfect forever home is one that is calm with no young children. Adoption events are stressful for this beauty, so we are happy to set up a meet and greet. Could you be the person to bring this girl the love she deserves? Bailey has had age-appropriate vetting, is FeLV/FIV negative, microchipped and has been spayed. FREE wellness visit with adoption. Saving Southern Kitties has the most comprehensive vetting standards for adoption. Please visit our kitties at the Rivergate PetSmart in Charlotte and like and visit Saving Southern Kitties Facebook page for an up-to-date list of adoptable kitties. An application is required.

Story
On occasion, inquiries are not forwarded automatically to our rescue by Adopt a Pet. If you would like to inquire about one of our kitties, please reach out directly to the rescue. Thank you! This handsome boy was found outdoors and taken in to be neutered but was much too friendly to go back outside. He loves being an indoor cat, particularly with all the attention he gets from us humans. He absolutely needs attention. The more people in the home to love him and play with him, the better. Children should be 8+ as he may play bite. Ask to meet this young fellow at his foster home and see for yourself. Willoughby has had age-appropriate vetting, is FeLV/FIV negative, microchipped and has been neutered. FREE wellness visit with adoption. Story
On occasion, inquiries are not forwarded automatically to our rescue by Adopt a Pet. If you would like to inquire about one of our kitties, please reach out directly to the rescue. Thank you! This gorgeously marked beauty sadly found herself sitting at an overcrowded Animal Control for many months. Every shelter around is full and adoptions have been stagnant for those facilities. So lucky for Ruth she became an SSK girl and after some initial shyness she has just proven herself to be absolutely loving and craving affection. She loves to be with you and is going to make someone extremely happy! Ruth has had age-appropriate vetting, is FeLV/FIV negative, microchipped and has been spayed. FREE wellness visit with adoption. Story
Please contact foster parent at JeanieNorman@Hotmail.comLinus came into the shelter with his brother Charlie and several other young cats from a situation where they had never been socialized. Since then, Linus and Charlie have been in a foster home with the hope that they would learn to trust people and be able to live as loved members of a family. They have both made wonderful progress and are ready for their forever home. Linus is the more outgoing of the pair. He was the first to allow his foster mom to pet him and he has since become very affectionate and outgoing. He wants to explore and the more freedom he is given, the more he wants. He loves treats and to be brushed and has developed a curiosity of water....in the sink as well as the shower. He likes to sneak inand lick up the water afterwards and will sometimes even go so far as to try and get in the shower while it is turned on. Both Linus and Charlie will need more time to adjust to a new environment than a fully socialized cat would. They feel secure in their foster home but will need to learn that a new home is just as safe. The same holds true for their new people. Linus and Charlie do not have to be adopted together but Charlie would really benefit if they were. He depends on Linus so much and would be lost without him.

Since then, Charlie and Linus have been in a foster home with the hope that they would learn to trust people and be able to live as loved members of a family. He will allow petting and likes to be brushed, but he seems happiest if he is able to spend time near you watching as you go about your day. He loves to lie on the bathroom counter in the mornings watching your every move. With time, he will likely be just as affectionate as his brother, who he depends on to give him confidence. Both Charlie and Linus will need more time to adjust to a new environment than a fully socialized cat would. Story
Pippa the cute little tuxedo kitty with a heart on her side, needs a new loving home to go to and soon. I am moving into an apartment in a week and unfortunately I can’t take her with me. She is a 7 yr old tuxedo kitty with a quiet demeanor. She gets along well with the other cats and a dog but really prefers to be by herself. She can be a bit demanding at feeding time. She wont let you forget its time to eat! She will force herself on you when she wants to be petted. She sleeps on the bed with you if you want her to. She may be better suited for a family without young kids that won’t understand that she prefers quiet and doesn’t really play very much. Older kids and adults would be ideal. She is litter box trained and is fully indoors. Please take her in and give her a good home.
