Spayed or Neutered,
Story
These three ladies were trapped as part of a TNR project after their owner became ill, lost her home, and they ended up outside with a Lansdowne colony. The sisters were social and clearly not meant for outdoor life, so they were brought into foster together. They were previously spayed, had their shots updated, and they tested negative. They will be microchipped. If you guessed Blanche, Rose, and Dorothy (left to right), you are correct! They absolutely have the personalities of their TV namesakes, as you can see. Blanche and Rose immediately took over their foster home, exploring and enjoying window time together. Dorothy wasn’t so sure and elected to stay in her crate till she was darned good and ready to venture out and join the others. She has come very far in just a few short weeks and is as friendly as can be these days. After all they’ve been through losing their owner and their home, it would be a dream if these playful besties could stay together and become someone’s instant feline family, but other scenarios are possible. Put on your best caftan, grab some cheesecake, and meet The Golden Girls! Applications being accepted.   To learn more about Blanche, Rose, and Dorothy and other pets available for adoption, and to download an adoption application, please visit www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org. Story
Introducing the very lovely Kara. Her story is a sad one. Born in 2008, Kara had kittens who were adopted out, and Kara was spayed and adopted by a kind gentleman with several cats. Kara was well cared for, but one cat bullied her and made her timid. Her owner became ill and passed away in 2018. Kara was then adopted by another kind gentleman and friend of the rescue, who passed away very suddenly in June 2022. Kara is as sweet as sweet can be, but she needs some work and commitment from a special adopter to help rebuild her confidence. You need to seek her out, then she will thoroughly enjoy affection and will reward you with very loud purrs. Kara has been updated on all her vet care and is a very healthy senior kitty. She truly needs for her next home to be her last. A calm and loving home, ideally with no other pets (though she will adjust to kind ones), would complete Kara’s wish list. A senior human in need of a gentle companion would be just perfect. If Kara’s story stirs your heart, you just might be her person. Please apply today.   To learn more about Kara and other pets available for adoption, and to download an adoption application, please visit www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org. Story
Hobbes is the most typical of cats- born in Aug 2022 this boy was discovered in March 2023 as a new addition to a feeder's community cat colony. We were able to trap him  before he befell the fate of many outdoor cats- becoming feral. After being fixed he realized that the inside life was a pretty good one. He can best be described as happy-go-lucky. Hobbes prances around, perches on window sills, and enjoys wrestling with his fellow foster cats. On the whole he is a very sweet and gentle boy who never shows his claws and is ready to be your new addition!   Due to his later introduction to inside life Hobbes will need a bit of patience from his new parent- he is a little shy with new people or animals and will require a slow introduction to any gentle children or pets in your home. He does not like to be picked up or held.  He has tested negative, is neutered and microchipped, and is up to date on all shots and vet care. Applications are accepted now for this adorable boy, so don’t delay! Story
Carleton has one of those soulful feline faces that makes him look almost human—kind of like a person in a cat suit! This special guy was born in March of 2018 and is a calm, gentle cat who really likes being close to his people, but not right in their laps. He has long, lanky legs that mean he will do best with a large, high-sided litter box to keep things tidy, but he does have very good manners in that department. He was found in August 2023 in very poor condition, at the edge of starvation, and he has recovered beautifully with lots of TLC and expert vet care. Carleton is up to date on shots, neutered, and microchipped. He would enjoy a quieter home, though he would not mind school-age children. He does enjoy playing with a good wand toy! He is currently living with other cats but doesn't prefer to engage with them. Carleton may be able to live contentedly with another quiet cat like himself. Due to his recent past, he is currently on sensitive stomach dry food for digestion. Special food may not be required forever, but for now it helps him to live his best life. He also adores all types of wet food. Take a good, long look at that face, and then apply to bring this sweet boy into your home and your life today! Story
This pawsitively gorgeous calico girl is ready to find her forever! Tweety was born in early 2023 and just loves to play. She has been living the solo cat life so far and requires a lot of activity to be her best self; we suspect she would be a great fit for a home with another playful cat, but without small children. She has great litter and food manners and has a charming, growly meow. Tweety is spayed, FIV/FELV negative, up to date on shots, and healthy. She has had a stubborn tummy issue since being rescued, but is doing great with some special food and a bit of probiotic. Apply today to bring this darling girl home. You won’t be sorry!   To learn more about Tweety and other pets available for adoption, and to download an adoption application, please visit www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org. Story
Harper was born around 2015 and was rescued in very poor condition in May of 2023. It was thought that she was swollen due to pregnancy; turns out she was so ill from extreme starvation after being abandoned outside, her illness had made her look that way! The vets gave this sweet kitty just a small chance of survival, but she had suffered enough, wanted and deserved a chance at a pain-free life of real love. With months of expert medical care, TLC and specialized feeding, you can see how she looks today. Not only has she survived, she has recovered and is a lovely, mature cat who is now ready for just the right forever home to call her very own. Harper is spayed, tested negative, up to date on her shots and vet care. Her bloodwork is now excellent, and her muscles are rebuilding nicely. She is currently being fostered in a confined area; she will do even better in a real home to explore and share with her new family. She has great litter box manners, enjoys her cardboard scratching pad and wand toy, and she likes to curl up to sleep with her foster mom. Harper just craves human attention. After all she’s been through, she does not enjoy vet visits and needs a little pharmaceutical help to deal with them. She tends to get underfoot, so may not be the best pet for someone with mobility issues, but she is a cuddler who wants and deserves her very own special person to love on. If you might be that person, Harper promises to reward you with tons of affection and unconditional love! Story
Carla is a very sweet and friendly girl who gets along well with people. We've known her for a while now; she used to be a street cat and often came to our house for food, as we always feed the neighborhood street cats. When she got pregnant, we took her in since it was cold at that time. One of our friends got her some vaccinations done, but she is not fully vaccinated or spayed. We would like to find her a loving and caring home, and we would appreciate the family keeping in touch and providing us with updates.

Story
Dina is 3 years old and was found with her ear already clipped which told us she had already been spayed and vaccinated, but we wanted to take her off the streets to help her find her a forever family. Dina is also one of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet! She is quiet and sweet and LOVES being petted. She is a little hesitant at first, but once she realizes you just want to give her some love, she’ll come right to you. She does this cute thing where she’ll rub against your hand and do a little hop at the same time! Dina is quiet and shy, but longs for a forever home. As of right now, she is unsure of cuddling, but with time and the right people, she will open up. She likes to play on her own, especially at night. An overall quiet home would be the best for her as she is scared of lots of commotion. She’d be OK living with other cats if they are friendly. Dina really is the sweetest cat I’ve ever met and truly deserves a forever family who will shower her with love. Dina Lancaster is about 3 years old and is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. Story
Meet Lief Purrikson aka Lief the Lucky. This mighty explorer is hunting for the next adventure in his lifetime – his own loving home. He appeared at a managed colony in 2023, and at first meeting, was deemed feral, so he was solely a TNR at the time. However, with some consistency in daily feedings, he quickly dropped his shoulders and showed the actual full depth of his personality to his caretaker. Lief decided to take the next step on his grand adventure right before the snow hit in 2024, and moved into his current foster’s office. He’s acclimated so well, both to the indoor life and his fellow office foster siblings. Lief is generally very low maintenance, gentle and loves all of the pets, and head scritches you want to rain down on his big-cheeked head. He’s even known to offer up his sacred belly for rubs and kisses once you’ve secured his trust. Lief also *loves* his bed (or any soft spot really) where he can snuggle up and sleep his day away. Lief also enjoys playtime and hasn’t met a wand toy he doesn’t want to chase. Of late, he’s gotten into his “underground” explorations of going through all the various cat tunnels located throughout the office. Lief Purrickson gets along with all he meets and does exceptionally well with other cats. He’s also open to being your one and only, too, if that’s more your speed. Lief Purrickson is neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. Story
Oh sweet, sad boy Dylan. Dylan had a really rough go for the first half of his life, and was rescued off the streets by Project MEOW with a terrible case of mange and a flea allergy that left him covered in scabs and mostly hairless. Over the last six months, Dylan has recovered beautifully in his foster home and is learning to trust people again. He currently lives with a companion cat, Chanel Ruby (also available for adoption) and they would be happiest if they were adopted together. That said, Dylan would thrive in a quiet home with a person or couple that has the patience to let him come out of his shell. When Dylan first came to his foster, he wouldn't come out of his carrier, and would only eat if he were completely alone. Now he gratefully seeks out pets every morning, rubs against his foster parents' legs while getting fed, and even rolls over to get belly rubs. He is improving every single day and is sure to reward his forever family with his true personality once he feels safe enough to let it out. A gentle, quiet boy, Dylan prefers his own space but will always chose a spot where he can be seen and where he can see you. I imagine him being paired with a novelist - one day, you're typing out the last page of your first book. You can feel the hum of completion just around the corner. But out of nowhere, for the first time, Dylan has stepped in front of the computer and bumped his soft head against your hand. You close the computer and welcome him onto your lap. The novel can be finished another day. Dylan Farson is 4-5 years old and is neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. Lulubell is the Velveteen Rabbit of cats. She is blind in one eye and sometimes seems a little shaggy. She happily lived on a porch for years until this summer, when gum disease kept her from being able to eat. Now that all her teeth are gone, she's no longer afraid of food, and hopes to be a chonk! She is extremely gentle with people and likely good with small children. She does not hiss, scratch, or bite people, she is just sweet as pie! Lulubell loves being held and sleeping in laps. Lulubell is around 10 years old and she is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained.
