Story
Meet Dumpling. Once a part of one of our South Oakland colonies, Dumpling is a small tuxedo girl who couldn't cut it as an outdoor kitty. Quite skittish around loud noises (and loud humans), Dumpling very much needs a quiet home with the company of kitties who will let her cuddle them and humans who understand her strange gremlin ways. To humans who greet her with patience and love (and a treat or two in their hand), she is a lovebug who purrs up a storm (and drools out of happiness) and can't get enough cheek scratches. She also LOVES butt pets and gentle spanks, but don't tell her that we told her about her butt fetish. She also loves high perches to watch her world where she can feel safe. Dumpling seeks a rescue-savvy owner who will love her gremlin and hissy self for who she is, and give her a loving home for her to continue to bloom into a real kitty. She would do best in a home with other cats, no dogs, and no small children. Dumpling is around a year and a half, spayed, fully vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
Meet Dorothy. This classic brown tabby was rescued from a colony on the border of Bloomfield and North Oakland as a young mother. At just 7 months old, she had already had one litter of kittens. She didn't seem like a truly feral cat, so we decided to keep her inside and give her a second chance. Over the last 10 months in foster, she's come a long way. She can still be very wary of humans and jumpy to touch, but she's made so much progress that we're sure will only continue in the right home. From taking every chance she could to hide, to now greeting her foster at the door and even rubbing on their legs at dinner time. And now, if you're lucky, she will let you sneak in a pet or two at dinner time or at your feet if she's in the mood! She's an incredibly sweet cat that deserves a calm, patient, and loving home that is willing to give her the time that she needs to fully trust and feel comfortable and safe. Dorothy is a young and energetic girl and LOVES to play. She'll unleash her inner kitten on any wand toy yoy have and loves to play in her tunnel. She also loves other cats once she gets to know them. Having been a young mother, she's a bit of a matriarch and will mother any cat she meets regardless of age. She knows her boundaries and is not afraid to teach a new cat what they are with a good wack. But with a good and proper introduction, she'll be cuddling and playing the day away with her new friends and needs a home with other cats. Dorothy is about 3 years old, spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative. Because of her semi-feral nature, her adoption fee has been waived.

Story
Meet Houdini. Originally trapped as a TNR case from a feral colony, he was the only one who decided he'd rather live indoors instead. He was a bit shy at first but has blossomed into the sweetest little gentleman. Houdini is a very loving guy. Because of his feral start, he can be a bit shy in a new situation but it doesn't take long before he's strutting his stuff with confidence. He has the cutest little meow and will use to ask for attention and, of course, dinner. He doesn't mind being picked up and enjoys being held and cuddled - he'll even make biscuits while you hold him! He doesn't mind other cats and would do just fine in a home with others or by himself. Houdini is about 1 year old, neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
Meet Katie. Katie is a unique, dilute calico with beautiful green eyes and is a sweet, shy, quiet and cuddly girl who loves pets and being near you, but is just as content alone. It will take time for Katie to trust you and come out of her shell. However, once she does, she will be rubbing up against you and curling her tail around you, all while soaking up the pets and purring away. She likes to play and loves whack a mole type of games. Also, once she does open up, you’ll get to hear the smallest, cutest meow of all time AND she’ll want to sleep in bed next to (and often on) you! Katie was rescued from a lifetime outside and doesn't like much noise or too much going on but after all that time outside, it's no surprise she is a little shy and reserved and wants to live a safe, comfy life now. She would do best in an adult only, quiet home with an experienced cat owner and only one or two people in the home. Katie can go to a home with non-dominant cats or she can be your one and only! Katie is around 6 years old, spayed, up to date on all vaccines and is FelV negative. For a video compilation of Katie, visit https://youtu.be/09Dvm1NbAoc?feature=shared

Story
Meet Cacio. Rescued from the streets of Allentown, this sweet, shy girl is looking for a patient and loving home where she can truly shine. Although she may take a moment to warm up, once she feels safe, she's quick to purr and soak up affection. Cacio loves gentle pets and enjoys being held. With just a little encouragement, she'll roll over for belly rubs, revealing her playful side! To help her thrive, Cacio must be adopted with another kitten from Petco or to a home with another young cat. Together, they'll create a warm, loving environment where she can grow more confident and come out of her shell. If you're ready to open your heart to this shy sweetheart, Cacio is eager to find her forever home! Casio is about 4.5 months old, spayed, vaccinated, flea-treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative. She is available at the Waterfront (Homestead) Petco Adoption Center.

Story
Meet Morticia! After she was rescued from a life on the streets, this sassy lady is ready for a safe place to call home! Morticia is a pretty shy girl who sometimes still gets spooked, but she has come so far and makes more progress daily! She loves to get scritches behind her ears and will even flop over on her side to make sure she's comfortable in the process. She loves wet food, playing with toys, and chasing her foster siblings. While she has proven that she loves humans (her foster sometimes wakes up in the night to find her staring at her from inches away), she needs a patient adopter who understands that each baby step to affection needs to come at her own pace. While she doesn't mind spending time alone, Morticia is best suited to a home with other cats. She would love a kitten or a playful cat to run around with! Morticia is just shy of her 1st birthday, spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.
