Story
Regina Quietly, patiently, Regina waits for someone who truly "sees" her. Just like people, not every cat seeks the limelight. Some watch and observe intently. They are not shy, but perceptive. They are the cats who materialize out of nowhere to wipe a tear from your cheek when needed most. Regina is such a cat. When first rescued, the streets of Berwick were Regina's only home. This friendly cat was in the last stages of pregnancy and softly meowed for attention and food. She delivered her kittens Easter weekend and with a mother's nurturing instinct, raised 2 abandoned kittens after losing 2 of her own. When Regina first came to Cats in Bloom, she served as the "den mother" in our kitten room-calmly watching over the crew of youngsters. Regina would likely prefer a quieter home with someone who is looking for a calm and gentle companion. She purrs contentedly with pets and her green eyes light up when someone takes notice. She can even be sweetly flirtatious. Loud and boisterous is just not Regina's style, although she does do well with all the other cats at the cafe. So when you next visit Cats in Bloom, take a good look around. Regina may just recognize you as someone who could be her "person"-the one who truly "sees" the wonderful cat she is.

Story
Life may be a game of chance but you will come up a winner every time with these 4 kittens! Meet Lotto, Roulette, Blackjack and Keno. Their first stroke of luck came when a group of kind workers pulled together to help a very pregnant cat dumped at an I-80 rest stop. As they searched high and low for a rescue to take her, these Penn-DOT employees made sure momma cat Rhoda had food, water and a shelter at night. Rhoda gave birth to five very healthy kittens in a CIB foster home shortly after we rescued her in mid June. Sibling Poker was recently adopted and now his siblings say it's "game on" for finding their forever families. All of the kittens are friendly, outgoing and know that you have play to win! (An adage they take quite seriously as they interact with visitors and chase toys with delight.) They also so enjoy the young people who aren't yet of gambling age. The kittens pair up in color combinations. Lotto and his sister "Lady Luck" Roulette are brown tabbies and are both quite the cuddlers. You may have to do a double take to distinguish purring Blackjack ♠️ from Keno (who sports a bigger white bikini). The kittens all love, cavorting with one another but welcome other cats and kittens to play too. Lotto, Roulette, Blackjack and Keno are ready to make it your lucky day. Adopt one, two, three or four… You could just hit the kitten adopter's jackpot!

Story
Rhoda should never have been “another roadside attraction”. It’s hard to fathom how someone could dump a cat as sweet as Rhoda at an Interstate 80 rest stop-let alone, when this very pregnant cat was ready to deliver kittens any day. Weary travelers sometimes gave her tidbits of food, but this was no place to safely raise a family with cars and trucks whizzing by. It was actually the Penn-Dot employees who started tenderly caring for Rhoda, then reached out for our help and in all likelihood, saved her life. Rhoda has now been promoted to the role of office manager at Cats in Bloom. After giving birth to and raising a wonderful family of 5 (including current cafe kits Keno and Lotto), it’s Rhoda’s time-time to be treasured, not thrown out like trash as she once was. Rhoda is a beautiful Torbie cat with bright golden highlights and brilliant eyes. She adores people and is sweet and gentle with children. She is playful and just a tad bit addicted to treats if you want to make a good first impression. In Rhoda’s “purrfect” world, she would be someone’s “one and only” (although in foster she did acclimate to calico cat which says something and enjoyed visits from a mellow male cat). Never meant to be a roadside attraction, we hope Rhoda will now attract the kind of love and attention she so deserves. 💕 Rhoda will be an amazing companion in return. Rhoda is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and tested negative for feline leukemia/FiV. For more information on adoption contact cats@catsinbloom.org.

Story
Brontë and Brooks While grey tuxedos may not be fashionable at black tie events, these two kitten sisters certainly are dressed to the nines-or nine lives that is! Brontë and Brooks, named for novelists Emily Brontë and Geraldine Brooks, hope their next tale will be will be of two siblings finding their “purrfect” match. Born to a feral momma cat who was taken inside, Brontë and Brooks have grown up with people who cared about them. Spared the travails and ailments of many outside kittens, they trust and love interacting with people. Brontë sports a dashing little white moustache while Brooks has a white mask, so the sisters are easy to tell apart. They are easygoing and affectionate girls, playful but not over the top kitten crazy. Brinte and Brooks are more focused on pleasing their people than hanging on curtains or otherwise creating havoc. In fact, they are much more likely to give you a paws up “high five”, than knock things off the counter. If you are looking for two kitten sisters with warm and engaging personalities, look no further. We think their grey tuxedo suits are very stylish and quite the “cat’s meow” too!

Simon is precious as can be. He adores everyone that visits me. He loves loves to be cuddled and will humor up on your lap and stay there as long as you let him. I’m sad to let him go but after having Covid bad first time that almost took my life then second time which really gave me awful allergies plus more, I just can’t take care of him and the care he needs. He was dropped off below my home back in June of 2020 and he was around I say 2 mths old. So he is 4yrs old. He will be good with other cats and dogs. Loves kids. Please someone give him a good home. Thank you.

Story
Kit Kat (5/25/2014) came to us as jaded and suspicious. She had been bounced around for a few years but in all those homes, had the opportunity to roam outside freely and wasn`t sure about her new accommodations at ARC. She was equally unsure about the staff and decided that she would meet both with anger and hostility, especially our one staff member, Sue. After a few months, however, she realized that our shelter was a happy, safe place despite her best efforts to convince the other cats to start a cat fight club or mutiny against staff. Now, Kit Kat gets along with ALL cats in her unit and can even be caught snuggling with them in the beds under the window. She has come to love and ADORE all staff (especially Sue!) and runs to the door to greet visitors and if you don`t immediately drop everything to pet her, she will throw herself in front of you to demand attention. If you happen to trip over her, she will immediately try to crawl onto you as you lay sprawled on the floor and begin purring contently with the hopes that you will remain on the floor snuggling her. Though she is technically a senior, she has the energy and agility of a kitten and wows everyone with her gymnast moves chasing catnip mice. Kit Kat is both long and short haired in that she has extremely dense, thick fur and the CUTEST ear tuffs. Initially, when she was possessed by the spirit of Church himself, we wondered if we had somehow brought a wild Palla cat into the shelter but have since learned it`s just another endearing and unique feature she possesses. Kit Kat`s ideal home would be with a human or two or three to lavish attention on her, another cat or two to occasionally snuggle with and a large window with a soft bed underneath it. Kit Kat is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and tested negative for FELV, FIV. To meet Kit Kat, complete a pre-approval at our website or call 570-784-3669 Ext 2.
